They mentioned that they are closed normally on Sundays but they opened for school vacation...Yipee! Decor is classic Italian with a large bar and pizza oven looking right at you. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks along with their wood fired garlic cheese bread. Kasey our bartender was extremely nice and conversational. She suggested a few of her faves! We also ordered the Polpette pizza xtra crispy. The restaurant was extremely crowded with families due to school vacation. You can tell its a popular neighborhood spot. The garlic cheese bread came out and it looked more like a mini pizza, but still delicious with the marinara sauce on the side. Afterwards, the Pizza came out and although not as crispy or well done as we would like, it was still good. We were full but had to look at the dessert menu because how could you not. Kasey recommended the Pistachio Risotto Cake and boy was it worth it. Actually to die for! Flavorful, soft and a delicious way to end a perfect meal. The white bean antipasto was interesting - we were all expecting more of a dip than just whole beans which were a bit difficult to eat on the bread, unlike a spreadable dip. Also the generous amount of ranch drizzle as well as the side of balsamic that I asked for. I appreciated how crisp the bottom of each slice was. Naming this place crust does do it justice. Can't wait to have their pizza again when I'm in the area.

I stopped by appetite for takeout, and ordered the Vegetarana Pizza ($19 plus tax), which was ready in about 20 minutes after ordering. This 12" pizza (no cheese) was topped with red tomato sauce, roasted peppers, onions, olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and basil on a thin artisan chewy crust. This pizza was very fresh. Plenty of cheese and toppings to go around. Strangely, they had ground beef on many of their pizzas but not sausage. Maybe the town likes it better? The tator tots came out with canned cheese sauce, dallops of sour cream, and bacon bits. They were okay, but weren't really crunchy from the frier. Some people prefer them that way too, so I guess I can't complain too much. Prices seemed a bit high for the area. There were flies buzzing around, no doubt because of the large hole in the front screen door. I don't mind dive bars, but sometimes you want a place to take your family for a relaxing dinner. However, I was initially charged $9 for the spaghetti pasta & 2 meatballs which was served in the same bowl. However, I had to explain I only wanted the 2 meatballs and the pasta separately in a smaller cups so it would be $6 instead of $9. Another worker obliged and separated the meatballs and pasta with a slightly smaller portion of pasta for $3 less. $13.91 for the 4 items was the total with tax. The 2 meatballs were good sized with a soft texture in lots of tomato sauce. The spaghetti was soft due to sitting in the broiler tray and I mixed in the sauce from the meatballs. The pigs in blanket were grilled hot dogs wrapped and baked in a pastry dough, mustard and ketchup provided. If I am ever stopping in this food court, the Pizza Bar counter is the best bet for me.
