I was between a 3 and a 4 on this but bumped my rating up to a 4 because the service was great and someone who I believed was the owner was going around to tables thanking guests for coming and making sure they were satisfied. I enjoyed most of the food. The brewmasters basket is good if you like calamari. I thought the pretzel and cheese were good but not the best in Utah. I tried the Pierogies and Bratwurst. First time trying pierogies and I really liked them with the dill sour cream. I almost loved this dish but wasn't a fan of their sauerkraut. It's different here. By reading reviews it seems like people either like it or don't. I prefer the sauerkraut at Siegfried's or Weller's. It's sort of pudding like here and I just wasn't a fan, but I'll be back to try other items on their menu! read more

This was my family's first time visiting Utah, and I must say that this place was perfect for a post-hike beer and meal. We were greeted by staff and they were so polite! From the host, to the server, to the manager... they were all so friendly! The food was great,; you should look at the lunch specials because the portions were massive. We came here with a large group and waited around an hour to get seated, they get super busy so be prepared for a wait! I haven't really had much german food before so I was excited to try bohemian brewery out. They also have pizza and sandwiches as well. We ordered the calamari, the roasted garlic spread, pretzel, and the stroganoff with spaetzle. I haven't had spaetzle before so I wanted to try it but next time I will probably stick with fettucine. I like the texture of noodles more. The roasted garlic was soo good, garlic is great when the whole bulb is roasted and you smear the whole bulb on a piece of bread. The calamari was super fresh and the breading was really light and extra crispy. The stroganoff was delicious!! The steak was really tender even though I didn't order medium rare. I can't speak to the beer since I came to enjoy brunch with my friend and we did not have beer with our breakfast. (No shame to those who do wish to imbibe during the earlier parts of the day, that just isn't for me.) My friend and I had an order of potato pancakes, pierogies and a plate of scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon. Looking back, I should have ordered the brat instead of the bacon-what was I thinking? The potato pancakes were very large and greasy-accompanied by sour cream and applesauce. This was my first experience with pierogies and I found it to be pleasant-sort of a dumpling with bacon and onions inside. The eggs and potatoes were very good and seasoned nicely. Our server was friendly, although was still getting familiar with the menu being that it was her first day. Came here on a Friday for lunch and the place was surprisingly packed. This place is a great spot for authentic German food and beer. I ordered the beef stroganoff with the spaetzel. The sauce tasted excellent mixed with the sour cream and the beef was juicy and delicious. I would probably choose the noodles over the spaetzel next time since it wasn't my favorite. My favorite was the sausage and sauerkraut and the pretzel with beer cheese. Both were amazing! The Apple dumpling was also delicious. I would highly recommend this spot for a great meal or beer. The Bohemian Brewery serves up some delicious European fare! There were so many tempting options on the menu that I had a hard time choosing, but in the end decided on the pierogi appetizer and the Schweinshaxen entree. The pierogi were, simply put, outstanding. I loved the creamy dill sauce they were served with, and they had a chewy dumpling exterior with velvety potato filling and plenty of bacon piled on top. I could happily make a meal out of just these. The Schweinshaxen was also delicious. Initially I wasn't sure about the presentation, but the meat fell right off the bone with nothing but the pressure from my fork. It was incredibly tender, and the brown gravy sauce served on top was a great pairing. The sides were also fairly good - while I've had better iterations of mashed potatoes and red cabbage, I still enjoyed those served at Bohemian Brewery. I think my only sticking point was the wait time. My party of 2 visited at dinner time on a Thursday evening, and had to wait around outside for about 40 minutes for a table. I saw in a recent inquiry from April 2022 that they weren't taking reservations - not sure if this is still true, but if that is the case, I wish they had a larger indoors waiting area or at least some seating outside the door for those that have to wait for a table. read more

If was fun trying out this new to us restaurant. Our friends had eaten here several times. They recommended a pretzel with cheese sauce appetizer that was delicious. We ordered fish and chips, beet salad with salmon, and beef stroganoff. We also split German chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and cheesecake with blueberry compote. Everything was flavorful. Our server Sophia was good. We asked to move from the loud main floor to a quieter table upstairs where we could talk. Parking can be tricky here. Breading was a bit heavy, however even with that said it was nice portion and tasty. We each got an adult beverage -- glass o wine and a cocktail. Both good, but Utah sized. Hubby felt he had to try the Reuben and review was "good" - but not enough sauerkraut. The fries are garlic, very good. I tried the hummus n flat bread plate. The portion was huge-- meant for 2 people. Housemate hummus was tasty n fresh. Flatbread was obviously wood-fired, and the caramelized onion, sundried tomatoes n goat cheese were a great combo. The Bohemian Grill is in a very beautiful A-frame, mountain cabin. It is the perfect place for an "after ski" day up at Snowbird, Brighton or coming out of Cottonwood Canyon. The grill has been there for many, many years. The beer is always good. I always like to try the dark beer. Its very flavorful. Try the Cherny Bock, you wont be disappointed. They serve many different kinds of beers. The food, everywhere we looked, it looked delicious. Our mouths were watering. We saw this. We saw that. We wanted to try this. We wanted to try that. I settled for the Bohemian club sandwich with Ham, Turkey, and Bacon. It was absolutely delicious. The ham and the turkey were not dry or overcooked. The fried bread was a little greasy, but the inside of the sandwich made up for it. I was very, very disappointed in the alleged French onion soup. I say alleged because I have never seen so much bread hiding underneath a slice of cheese. The ratio of onion and bread compared to actual broth was dismal. There was barely any broth because it was soaked up with all the bread that was inside of it. I never had French onion soup, so disappointing. I was SO looking forward to the soup itself. THAT NIGHT I would not have recommended the French onion soup. BUT TRY IT ANYWAY, I will try it again next time and ask for less bread in my bowl. I will also get the side salad. Prior to ordering our food, they took us up these (mountain cabin) creaky stairs to the upstairs level. The only reason why I was concerned is because people tend to drink a lot of alcohol when they're eating good food and what if... they tumbled down the stairs sideways. But the place is older so of course the stairs are going to sound weird, they are very stable and sturdy. Everywhere I looked, everyone was enjoying the atmosphere and their food and conversation. The wait staff was very nice and pleasant. There was also no wait when we arrived, we were able to get a table right away. I like the way they set up the restaurant because they can get a lot of people in. They are not about having pretentious booths for privacy. We celebrated Father's Day a week early since we were together in SLC, and hubs immediately looked for his favorite dish: chicken paprikaš. He found that Bohemian Brewery listed it on their menu, so off we went, intending to hit the middle of the day since it was a Sunday and we hoped it would be less crowded then. Wrong! We were confused why it was still so full around 2 pm, but turns out they have brunch until three on Sat and Sun. Ah, that makes sense. We had a drink at the bar while we waited, and both my mimosa and his beer were on point. Our waitress was amazing, and very responsive to our requests. I ordered the margherita pizza, and hubs had his chicken. I always know how much he likes this dish by how many to-go orders he gets. He ordered nothing to go. Oops! He said his food was good, but it didn't really taste like chicken paprikaš. It looked like a butterflied piece of breast that was half the amount they usually serve with this dish. He always orders spaetzle, and that was tasty and a little more plentiful, but he had to ask for more gravy. The pizza is wood fired so it's hard to go wrong with it, and I didn't regret my choice. We finished by sharing the Apple streusel and I ate more of the strawberries and cream that garnished it, but it was rich and flavorful. I felt the paprikaš was pricey for the amount he got. He usually brings part of the meal home with him, but in this case there were no leftovers. He was very forgiving, though, saying it's hard to make a good paprikas if you're not Hungarian. We've been coming here for years. Consistently great food, nice atmosphere, not too noisy, and everyone will find something they like. I highly recommend the Old World Pub Fare and the Entree sections of the menu. While the burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads are good, you want the traditional menu items. Our favorites are the schnitzel, perogies and brats, stroganoff, pork and kraut, paprikash, blackberry brandy chicken, and the meatloaf. Do not miss the apple strudel or the Czech fruit dumpling for dessert. Gluten friendly menu is available. Note that there are not dedicated gluten free fryers . There is a nice variety of gluten free menu items (see pic). Gf burgers come without buns. This is a great place to slow down, enjoy good food, and enjoy good company. Don't eat and run, really enjoy the atmosphere. No reservations. This place can get busy on the weekends so be prepared for that. Summertime has nice patio seating. First of all, the hostess was more interested in talking to her friend than seating the line of people out the door. I had to interrupt their conversation to get seated. Second, the beer was the most mediocre lineup of beer I've ever experienced. Third, I ordered a martini because the beer was so bad, and it was literally less than half full. For $9. It was pretty much only a shot. Fourthly, the bartender never even came back to me so I could order food. I was trying to flag them down for 20 minutes. It was a Wednesday, so not busy at all. Eventually I decided to leave. Fifthly, the waitress behind the bar only smiled at me when she was handing me the check. She complimented me even, I assume to get a nice tip. BLUF: Bring out the elastic waistband because Bohemian Brewery's portions are generous and delicious! The Beef Stroganoff, Pork Shank, and Sausage and Perogies. Each entree alone could comfortably feed two diners. Especially if you also order their hot, fresh soft pretzel with melty beer cheese. Do not miss out on ordering one of those mammoth babies. The Pork Shank was tender and moist served with red cabbage and your choice of speitzel or mashed potatoes. Definitely an entree recommended to share between two or three people. Loved the sausage and perogies. Their warm sauerkraut was unlike any I've ever been served. In addition to being sauerkraut, it was creamy. It went amazing with the perogies and sausage and Dijon mustard. To help with drinks, each dish has a recommended beer pairing. I appreciated that extra effort to their menu. Herr Franz was an amazing host who greeted us warmly when we were seated and periodically (and unobtrusively) checked in on how our meal was. Amazing service, ambiance, and food. This little gem of a restaurant was a welcome surprise. Raven was our waitress.. two thumbs up. We ordered the special burger. It was made with wagu beef,bison, boar, and elk, I believe. It was served with a side of fries and fry sauce. I had the sausages w mustard sauce. It was served with pourogie and dill sauce and saurkraut. I hadn't had a saurkraut that was creamy before. It was really good. The pourogie I'd never had before either. They were stuffed with a garlic mashed potatoe. To top it off, we split the apple strudel, which was even better than apple Hill's Strudel. Everything was in great portions as well. I was desperate for German food in Utah, so came here with 16 descendants ranging in age from 43 to zero. First off, the claim is that this is a Czech restaurant not German. So I am judging it as such. I got the schweinhaxe and it was quite good - better than the roast pork hock I had in Dallas! Less fatty, the glaze was tasty. The red cabbage was terrific. The spaetzle not quite as great - maybe not fried enough? Would have preferred more rotkohl & less spaetzle myself. Granddaughter had a Bratwurst platter which she enjoyed. I tasted her sauerkraut and it was first rate. My wife got roast beet salad which she enjoyed. All the servings were huge. I took my leftovers home and had two extra meals out of it.
