New York strip, medium rare with cheesy potato's. I ate every bite and didn't even use or need the 3 sauces. The steak was perfect.

It was more upscale than I anticipated. $170 for two...but definitely delicious and a good experience. First, the table bread is amazing, we asked for a second basket. Drinks were good, Moscow mule for me, moscato for my date. She had the salmon with mashed potato's and a house salad, I had the New York strip with cheesy potato's and Caesar salad. They crush pistachios instead of using croutons and honestly, that's genius. I'm not a fan of croutons, they cut the roof of my mouth, so crushed pistachios instead, I loved! Our server was awesome, he was very professional, knew the menu and was attentive to our table. Thanks Jack! I would absolutely go back and recommend. Only thing I would suggest, is for a heat lamp of some sort for the patio. We sat outside by choice. The inside was dark and a bit too quiet for us, and it was nice outside, but a little bit of heat would have been a chefs kiss!

Excellent service. The butter that came with the bread was very unique and delicious. You get a choice of 3 salads with your steak (house, Caesar or Tiburon), I chose the Tiburon and it was delicious. The shorter palate cleaner after the salad is a nice touch. Now the star of the show - the tenderloin steak was cooked a perfect medium. It was tender and flavorful, one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. It came with mash or funeral potatoes, carrots and asparagus which were all wonderful. The dessert options looked amazing but sadly I was too full! And the prices are reasonable for the great quality they offer. Will definitely return.

I came to Hoof & Vine for the first time over the weekend. It was a great dining experience. Even though it's in a busy plaza I got a spot right in front. If I wasn't so lucky there are plenty of spots in the parking garage by the Cinemark theater. The staff was super friendly and on top of service. The ambiance was a little darker, lively, but still intimate. The table bread and (roasted red pepper?) butter were yummy. I love a good butter. I ordered a zero proof Paloma, which was refreshing. To start we had the crab cakes. Hot, fresh, nicely cooked. I wish they were served with a lemon wedge, but the sauce was tasty. The Tiburon salad was so flavorful and hearty. I love a sorbet palate cleanser. By the time entrees came out I was already stuffed. The salmon and veggies were cooked perfectly. I love an olive tapenade. The mashed potatoes were a little thick. Overall I was so happy with the food and service. I also appreciated the bathroom being cleaned and stocked with fem products if you need them and mints. I plan on coming back for date night!

Steaks are excellent. Great for group business meals because salad appertif etc are included. Very accommodating with a wide range of wine

Light and refreshing sorbet to finish off the meal!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and they made it so special! For starters our waiter was very prompt, attentive, and kind. I have a food sensitivity and he made sure to alert the kitchen staff to ensure I was able to find something delicious to eat. The food was all so good and filling! My husband ordered the stroganoff and I had the elk, both were cooked to perfection! The ambiance was great for a nice dinner out! Very cozy and classy. We will be returning for future date nights and anniversaries!

The food here is amazing. We got the crab cakes for starters. They were flavorful and just the right size. The bread and spread they bring you is my favorite. So delicious. You have your choice of salads. We both chose the Tiburon house salad. For our entrees, I had the tenderloin and Darren had the salmon. He said it's the best he's ever had. My steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce trio allows you to customize the flavor. Our server, Jack was so charming and professional. We felt like it was very reasonable for the quality and taste! We will definitely be back!

The Hoof and Vine is delicious. We got the Tiburon house salad which was really good. I love that it has some apples and candy Walnuts. We got the bavette steak which is like a hanger steak. We really enjoyed it. The pallet cleanser between corses was fun. It was a strawberry lemon sherbet. That is my favorite flavor they've had so far.

We were invited by a close friend to have a nice fine dining experience at this restaurant. To say it was a fantastic experience is an understatement, it will be a dinner that myself and family will remember for the rest of their lives. The wait staff was on point and paid very close attention to everything, including our beverage levels. The menu is smaller, but it makes sense and having that smaller menu means they can take a little more time perfecting the menu. I was with a large group and we had the fried brussels sprouts appetizers as well as the homemade potato chips with Parmesan garlic and truffle oil. On a whim, we got the artichokes as well and were not disappointed in the least (research how to eat an artichoke properly before ordering) and all of the salads that you could choose from were unique and wonderful in their own ways. As far as the mains go, everything was wonderful from the 6 ounce fillet to their 16 ounce porterhouse. The big, big big winner, though was the elk, I have never had meat taste that fantastic before. I promise you nobody is paying me to leave this review. We truly had a wonderful time. The ladies I were with The would probably say their favorite part was dessert. We had a crème brûlée, the bread, pudding, and some chocolate peanut butter thing, but that's not really in my wheelhouse. Highly recommend.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Y'all this place thought of everything. I've been to a lot of fine dining establishments in my life .. none of which thought to give me a plate cleanser in between dishes. I mean, they even offer feminine products in the ladies bathroom - come on now :). I see some of the reviews being like for the price I'm paying this isn't a good enough place. I don't know where else these cheap Utah Folks eat but .. a steak at Texas road house is no where close to this quality and they charge $30.. I argue that for the price you're getting a hell of a deal on fine dining experience. The food is phenomenal! I honestly do not think you could pick a bad dish on the menu. Also - when have you ever seen funeral potatoes on a menu? I should add that these funeral potatoes are not the typical sloppy soppy you put in your casserole dish at home .. they fancy and delicious!! I called during their closed hours to ask about a large party reservation - THEY ANSWERED! It was a breeze. The service was excellent, everything went off without a hitch. Also they have a huge wine menu!!

Parking is all street parking, and during peak dinner hours it can definitely be hit or miss. We ended up parking a bit farther away and walking over. Service was a little messy during our visit, but I could also tell the staff was trying their best. It seemed like there was only one person taking orders and handling the front, and she looked pretty flustered on a busy night. I also suspect the kitchen may have been understaffed. For appetizers, we ordered the ravioli and the baguette au gratin. Both were delicious. The ravioli was definitely my favorite of the night. It was super rich and heavy, so sharing it was the right move. The baguette itself tasted good, but the cheese on top was cold and had already solidified. It felt like it had been premade and quickly assembled before serving. For our mains, we ordered the duck breast and the beef bourguignon. This is where I really started feeling like the kitchen was struggling a bit. Both dishes came out surprisingly fast, but unfortunately the duck, mashed potatoes, and even the gravy were cold. Not just cooled down, but genuinely cold like they had been sitting out for a while and not kept under a warming lamp. The beef bourguignon was the warmest dish we received, though even that was only lukewarm. The frustrating part is that the flavors were actually really good. The food itself was delicious, but the temperature of almost every dish really took away from the experience.

Tucked…read moreaway in Cottonwood Heights, it also happened to be a literal stroll across the street from where we were staying, which made it an easy yes for dinner. This isn't white-tablecloth, hushed-voice "fine dining," but the kitchen is absolutely cooking at that level. Every dish that hit the table delivered: the som tum, drunken noodles, and Thai fried rice were all standouts, with zero misses across the board. The mixed greens and golden tofu plates were legit highlights too, not just obligatory veggie options. One thing to know before you go: everything defaults to no spice unless you speak up. If you're used to true Asian spice levels, level 3 is probably your sweet spot. Level 2 was still a bit too tame for us, especially for something like the som tum that really sings with heat. Bottom line: excellent quality, generous value, and food that keeps you thinking about your next visit before you've even paid the check. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to.

Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.
