I went here when my parents were visiting from out of town, and we had a lovely time! I had the Russian breakfast, which came with a crepe, salmon roe, butter, scrambled eggs , salmon and honey. My Mom had the eggs benedict, and my Dad had the blueberry waffle. Everything looked AMAZING. Seriously, Insta-worthy, even though we didn't take any photos, and tasted WONDERFUL. Well, except for the coffee, according to my Dad, but the man drinks a blend of CostCo and Starbucks coffee . . . so some fine coffee connoisseur he is not. I didn't taste it as I'm on Dr.'s orders to be off caffeine, so I had the armenian herb tea, which was lovely. The place is small, but beautifully decorated, and really cozy. The food came out quickly, and I thought it was well priced. I'd definitely come here again. Very disappointing experience--save your money. We were really looking forward to trying this place because everything online looked delicious. Unfortunately, the experience was the complete opposite. Despite having only six tables, the wait was extremely long. My Eggs Benedict with avocado and salmon took about 30 minutes, and my daughter's food arrived another 15 minutes later. My coffee came even later--and was the wrong drink. The salmon was dry, tough, and brown around the edges. The bread was dry and so difficult to cut that I practically gave up. The coffee tasted terrible. I went to the counter and politely explained the problems and asked if I could get something else. I was told no because the food is made to order. I also explained that I had ordered a hot espresso, not an iced coffee, but was told I hadn't specified that. The young woman said she would get the manager. We waited another 15 minutes, and no manager ever came to our table. So we left. For the prices they charge, I expect better food, better service, and--most importantly--some effort to make things right when a customer is unhappy. read more

The pictures were yelp worthy, indeed, but the size of the drinks for the price of the drinks was not something to write home about. Pair a big sweet tooth and you'll enjoy the almond butter blueberry pancakes. Would probably pass on the avocado toast, although they were A plus with the amount of avocado. The interior of the store was very cute and a classic LA manner. They had a little window bench as well as a little egg shaped seat. I came here from an appointment next door to get coffee. I wasn't hungry but really needed coffee. It's such a cute and cozy cafe. They served sandwiches, salads, bagels, avocado toast and more. Coffee drinks and smoothies. I ordered a cold brew with milk. The coffee tasted good. Picked up dirty glasses for them. Waited 15 minutes for them to wipe down table after asking them. They did it when food came. Spent $50 of drinks and food but told they don't give glass of water, have to buy a bottled water. Never experienced that before except internationally. And they don't allow outside drink, so here we are, two grown adults, sneaking sips of water from bottled water from our car because the water nazi. So food good, dirty matcha bleh, date seed latte good-ish, but service and this no water policy, bad. Will not come back. Too many other cafe and coffee shops in Glendale to chose from. read more

I've been to Bohemian House a couple of times now and really love this place. I've tried their bagels and mojitos, and both have been amazing every time. Finally got to check out this cafe out, one of the many places I had saved in my Yelp collection. It was called Take Away Cafe but now they changed it to Bohemian House. I honestly loved what I ordered the chicken pesto panini, love the toasted ciabatta bread, chicken breast was tender, right amount of pesto and cheese. Served with a side salad, definitely would love to have more it! To wash it all down, I got the Bohemian Passion drink, which had passionfruit, lemon, mint and sparkling water. It was so refreshing to drink and the presentation of it looks stunning. This is a little cafe in Glendale that is aesthetically pleasing, not really big, and also street parking available. read more

I'm always looking for a cozy cafe with food (not just pastries) and good coffee/tea with comfortable seats and plenty of outlets to plug in and get work done. Check, check, and check for Take Away Cafe! This is a welcoming space with rich colors, lots of healthy plants, and a warm atmosphere. There is an outlet for each table along the wall bench. The space is on the smaller size (not cramped, mind you) so I can imagine it filling up quickly. That said, I feel that the size of the space adds to the cozy feeling. The staff are friendly and add to the charm of this cafe. I knocked a star off for a few things: no decaf coffee though the date seed latte they recommended as a non-caffeinated option was delicious with hints of cardamom. The scrambled egg toast was a bit disappointing. The toast underneath was very tough, like it was day old. The salad was crisp and fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy. Lastly, I didn't see any restrooms for customers to use (though I didn't ask). Some street parking is available, and the cafe is easy to find. Will likely be back if I'm in the area. Hope they get some decaf espresso by then! read more

Today, I will do amazing things but first coffee. ;D Take Away Cafe is a cute lil corner coffee shop nestled in the heart of Glendale. It's located on E. Broadway where they serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, juices, smoothies and salad. I came as a first time customer on a sizzling late afternoon as I head to my HQ. Interior was quaint and modest with a huge world map and roses as decoration. Atmosphere was relaxing. Perused their menu and decided to grab a classic Iced Latte. And it was simply bloody REFRESHING. It's perfect on a very hot day. Male staff was cordial and professional; he offered a free cookie but I respectfully declined. They have rear parking lot and plenty of street metered parking as well. Service was spot on. Overall, I had a good order experience and enjoyed my cold drink. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quick outing for a light lunch when we spotted this place and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, it was a quaint quiet cafe and had an inviting atmosphere. We didn't get his name, unfortunately, but at the register the very nice gentleman gave us recommendations on what sweet coffees we can try. He recommended the Spanish Latte as a sweet iced coffee and I, myself, love sweetened condensed milk and so we both ordered it. Just as promised it was nice and sweet. Had more of a milkyness to it and not much strong coffee flavor if what you desire is the flavor of the bean. As for food, we ordered the Smoked Salmon Croissant and Turkey Baguette. Both light and not too heavy and delicious. On the side, it came with a nicely portioned side mixed green salad and a very tasty tangy vinaigrette. It was not a long wait at all after we ordered and it was a nice and quiet lunch. The music was not too loud, so we were able to enjoy having a conversation. Giving it two stars mainly for the flowers and how the restaurant looked. Inside was pretty but the vibe was definitely off. Went with a friend over the weekend and was pretty disappointed. To start they have an extensive list of coffee drinks (including house and drip) and they can only do an espresso and americano hot. The Americano was the worst Americano I've ever had. It tasted more like hot tap water. Also asked if I could get a croissant with jelly and was told they could only do a Nutella croissant. Really?!? After ordering I walked to where I pick up my drink and there's literally a basket full of jelly packets on the counter. I did end up getting a Nutella croissant which was just ok. My friend ordered a smoked salmon sandwich. They forgot to add egg to hers which she requested.They immediately brought her an egg but the egg and the sandwich weren't really warm. When I had an appointment nearby and had to park outside at the meters, and had to figure out how to pay via an app in mere minutes, I stepped inside the cafe for shade so I could see my phone. A nice man helped me get the right app, make an account and pay the fee. And when a parking enforcement guy showed up, this gentleman came out with a quarter to put in the meter while I finished! The parking guy was also friendly and helpful. Thank you, gentlemen, for your kindness as a frazzled older woman was late and stressed.
