I have walked by Bohemios Tapas and saw that they had some food items and wines on happy hour. I wanted to try it with my friend! Happy hour is 4-6pm. Our waiter was nice enough to take our happy hour order right at 6pm on the dot. We ordered mussels and empanada from the happy hour menu. The mussels were around $6, but there were only 6. Maybe that is the happy hour size, but it wasn't fulfilling. They should set expectations for the size of the happy hour menu. We got two empanadas. They were chicken. They tasted better with the sauce. We also got Patatas Bravas on the tapas menu. They were plentiful and the red, tomato sauce was delicious. I got a house Chardonnay to pair with the food. I love Bohemios, it always feels so indulgent and inviting. the flavors are familiar (and deeply Spanish) but always done with precision, and in a rich, beautiful way. I've never eaten a bad thing here! I've been for a dinner and for happy hour and absolutely loved this place. The $9 happy hour menu has a good mix of options. The mussels a la champagne with caramelized fennel, saffron crema was so delicious -- the sauce was thick and herbaceous with a gentle spicy sweetness, i loved it and couldn't stop eating it! 8.5/10. The red sangria was also delicious -- 8.5/10 easily. My table ordered the montaditos mixed plate, which came with a lineup of bruschettas (which they offered to make in 3s for my table specifically) that were divine! The presentation was incredible and the food was even better. the pan con tomate was one of my favorite things of the night -- incredibly fresh and light. I would definitely recommend this whole board. The service also shined. The owner Ronaldo was so nice and accommodating. If you're planning a visit, bring a jacket. Seriously - it was arctic inside. To their credit, our server noticed us shivering and turned the A/C down without us asking, which was a nice touch. The space itself feels like a cross between a rustic lodge and a local art gallery. Barewood walls and quirky bohemian artwork line the room - some of it looks locally sourced, and some might have wandered in from Home Goods, but it works. We ordered the Manchego Croquettes, which were rich and creamy with béchamel and Manchego cheese. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the Charcuterie Board left much to be desired. It was the chef's choice, but felt more like a quick grocery run: strawberries and blueberries that weren't exactly fresh, green olives, nuts, and grapes. For the price, it felt a bit underwhelming and easily replicable at Publix. Not a big crowd for a Thursday night, especially compared to other spots down Central that were buzzing. A resounding yes to return, for the skipper (?) who's from Nicaragua, has two children in the army and the youngest (17 y/o) is in training here. They've another one in Sarasota. Nicaragua is the only Central America country I've visited, in 2009. The skipper wanted to know where we were from ... New York isn't going to do for him ... so I said Beijing China. This is a rather unassuming spot but it's food has a major impact--and when that's the case, I can overlook the sparse interior decorating lol. I came here with a group on NYE (yes, a reservation was needed) and we were all very pleasantly surprised. The whole menu is all Mediterranean/tapas based, very freshly made. We all ordered our own plates and I got the ham croquettes and the patatas bravas with a glass of Italian Prosecco. It was all so tasty, and our waitress was extremely nice and accommodating. The entire place isn't terribly big but it's a very lowkey atmosphere. I'm so glad to know about a new tapas restaurant in the area beyond the typical ones I've been to. read more

Bohemios has more traditional dishes too, which my Ecuadorian friend and I (100% Puerto Rican) thoroughly enjoyed. We tried one of their combination platters with empanadas, fried plantain stuffed cups (omg the sauces and seasonings of those proteins, wow), and perfectly doughy-and-cheesy tequeños (why is it so hard to find them in a restaurant in this Floridian town is beyond me?!). And yes, guilty: We ordered an extra serving of just tequeños because we were THAT happy to see them on a menu in the area. Server also suggested another bottle of sparkling wine from their menu, as they were out of their prosecco - what a happy accident! It was even more balanced, but equally refreshing. We finished it a little faster than we expected to. We'll order that specific bottle again for sure. Ambiance was beautifully quiet - we arrived right after happy hour and before dinner rush on a Monday. We even had the restaurant to ourselves for a bit. It was BLISS! Other patrons that came were also speaking politely, so it never got loud and we could converse calmly - such a rare, rare treat in most Tampa Bay restaurants that are now obnoxiously loud (for the most part). We stopped by for a late night dinner. I had very low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were really nice. The service was quick. The food was decent. Had a great dinner last night at Bobemios with the hubby!! We started with drinks (wine and beer only) I had wine and he had the Sangria. Wine and beer list was very good with a lot to choose from. The waiter was very attentive to my shellfish allergy and made great suggestions. We like small plates and he was great about what their best sellers were. We decided to stay in the small plates instead of main entrees and we were still stuffed! We loved the Mediterranean Bruschetta and all of the other plates. Service was impeccable and the food came out perfectly prepared. There is not a private parking lot but there is plenty of parking on the block. The atmosphere was very simplistic/modern. Let me tell you... After our second visit, I can say , with certainty, that the quality of food here is some of the best in St. Pete. If you're looking for tapas, skip Beach Dr. and come here. The first time we went, I wanted anchovies. Idono why, but I was craving them. The two of us had a glass of wine, split an empanada, and I had anchovies. The wine options were plentiful and ok. The food was fantastic, but it was just a small snapshot of what they offered. Last night... Woah. Initially, we just wanted to grab a small bite after having some bourbon down the street on First Ave N. There were four in our group this time. Awesome, that means we can get more bites! First we got a bottle of wine. Their bottles are all ok, and very reasonably priced. The sangria was good as well. So, we ended up getting eight or nine plates... I guess that's what happens after a couple glasses of bourbon... The first round was meatballs, patatas bravas, chorizo, and shishito peppers. The peppers could have been blistered/charred a little more, and needed salt, but it's hard to mess those up. The meatballs and patatas bravas both come in the same/similar sauce and damn was it good. The chorizo was unique in that it wasn't the typical hard Spanish style or the Mexican style, but a small diameter sausage cut in bite-sized pieces and onions and peppers. Bread came with something, so we sopped up some of the chorizo oil up with the bread. This course was a huge success. At some point, the waiter brought out tuna crudo, tiger shrimp, grilled octopus, and mushroom ravioli. The tuna was cold, the fennel and citrus was cold, and all very fresh tasting. The tiger shrimp were normal size shrimp, and cooked perfectly, but the sauce was incredible. It also came with bread, which we sopped up the sauce with the shrimp. The ravioli were great, exactly what you would expect. The octopus was the best I've had. It was sliced thin, instead of a whole tentacle, so all the pieces were cooked properly and super tender. Then we had the lamb chops and tostones sampler. The lamb chops were medium rare and the parsnip cauliflower puree under them were just delicious. The tostones were also perfect little bites. Surprisingly the bean tostones was my favorite. But they were all really good. We also asked about the hams sitting up on the counter, and the Executive Chef came out and talked to us about them. He pointed out that it's something you should start with with a clean palette. We opted to come back to try that, since we were a couple drinks and a bottle of wine deep. He also mentioned that they have all you can eat on Tuesday nights including wine, so we intend to check that out once we work off last night's meal. The food was quite good; we had several tapas - ham and cheese croquets, shishito peppers, octopus, and shared a tres leches cake for dessert (they were out of the chocolate cheesecake). Service was very good and friendly, but there were two serious downsides. First, the place was freezing. I know this is St. Pete in late may, but it really wasn't very hot or. humid outside and the AC was cranked up to max - Way too cold. Other customers complained about it too, to no avail Second, they play country and western music (rather loudly, I thought) and show its videos on a large screen. I'm not a fan of this kind of music and find it irritating. Even if you do like it, it is hardly conducive to a relaxing dining experience. This alone is enough to keep me from coming back. I hope the owner will take note. I also noticed that the place was nearly empty during the 7-8 pm dining hour on a Saturday night, when everyplace else on Central Avenue was booked solid with reservations and impossible to get into without one. We made reservations for a Sunday evening before a concert in St Pete, When we arrived the restaurant had plenty of seating. Mathew was our server and he was friendly and polite. It's a very casual atmosphere with a chill vibe. They have a nice wine list and happy hour. We started with wine and a couple appetizers, the meatballs and ceviche. Both were tasty. Unfortunately they had run out of the sea bass dish and the scallop risotto dish. Which was disappointing because we planned on ordering both. I went with the mushroom ravioli which was delicious. Cooked perfectly with a cream sauce that was similar to Alfredo. The other entree was the skirt steak that I found to be a little on the dry side and lacking in flavor. Their website states happy hour until 10pm, the signage says happy hour all day, their menu has many items that they no longer make. My companion and I came for dinner Friday night. We started off with a bottle of Cava, which was dry and lovely. We started off our meal with the 8 meatballs and patatas bravas. Both were delightful and came in a similar sauce. I would have liked a little bit more heat, but my companion enjoyed the taste. We then ordered the fig jam and Serrano ham bruschetta, and the gamba scampi. The bruschetta was the belle of the ball. The sweetness of the fig jam and balsamic coupled with the tang of the manchego and ham was absolutely wonderful. We agreed that we could have just ordered dish after dish of the bruschetta. The gamba scampi arrived in a nice cream sauce with plenty of garlic and peppers. Again, I did not find it overly spicy and my companion, and I soaked up the sauce with the bread. Surprisingly for a tapas place we were too full for dessert so I did not order same. This is a nice addition to Central Avenue and was not overly crowded even though it was 7 PM on Friday. First off if you are a couple or a single this place is a hard pass. The owner makes a statement loud and clear by table placement that you are not only an inconvenience, but that you are just being tolerated by the seating arrangements. Couples are by the door so you get the preferred larger groups standing next to you waiting for their table in the nice part of the restaurant. To be fair not all of the four couples tables are at the entrance, the other two are next to the toilets. While sitting there It's hard not to notice the different experience large groups are having in the actual restaurant area. That is not to say you are paying any less money for your food, it's just a numbers game, as large groups get the service, ambiance, and an actual dining experience that you won't be receiving. I put my empty water glass at the edge of the table and it was never refilled. Not even a busy time of day. We ordered a bunch of different tapas. They are ok. I just couldn't wait to get out of this place. With so many awesome options for great food and welcoming environments on Central, why would you ever eat here. read more

We had a couple of small plates that we shared and they were so fresh tasting. The empanada and tequenos were amazing! Just really delicious.
