Luis gave us a nice welcome and was very helpful and attentive. When our white wine bottle was not chilled enough he offered to get another but we were fine with some ice cubes. He made sure the wine bucket was filled with ice. We started with perfectly shucked oysters and grated horseradish, not out of a jar! The crudo was also a good start. I love Cacio e Pepe but I didn't catch on the menu about have mushrooms. It was still good. My wife got the Tagine which was Monk fish, which is a flaky white fish from Florida, and vegetables. The food scene in downtown St. Petersburg is next level, and Allelo is no exception. This place was great. There is both indoor and outdoor seating here, and we chose to eat inside when we visited for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation, but we made it only an hour in advance, so while I would still recommend given the restaurant is not huge, I don't think it is imperative. The inside of the restaurant is a great vibe and has a lot of character. Definitely a great date spot restaurant. The service was great. Our server was knowledgable on the menu, gave great recommendations and checked in on us often. The food was delicious. We ordered items a la carte for brunch and I don't have anything negative to say about any of it. The portion sizes were great, we definitely did not leave hungry. The scrambled eggs were perfectly soft scrambled. The smoked salmon toast was also amazing as was the beef tartare. This is a great brunch spot! read more

One main course was 1/2 rack of lamb cooked perfectly and nice portion, Za'atar cauliflower nice portion didn't taste like Za'atar. Pasta dish had to add black pepper was ok. Allelo might have my favorite interior design of any restaurant in St. Pete... gorgeous, sophisticated, absolutely right up my alley. I've been a few times now, and the ambiance alone makes it a place worth visiting. Service has always been great as well! The food is good, it just hasn't quite wowed me the way the setting promises it might. The focaccia and oysters are solid choices, and the meatballs and sweet potato agnolotti are enjoyable. The rack of lamb was the one dish that fell a little flat for me relative to expectations. The hugo spritz didn't taste super traditional but was refreshing in its own right, so take that as you will depending on what you're looking for! I keep coming back, which says something, but I do find myself wishing the food matched the very high bar the decor sets. If that gap ever closes, this place will be a 10/10 without question. My mom and I had such a wonderful time celebrating her birthday! Cory was such an excellent part of our night. She treated us like princesses, and didn't make us feel rushed. We enjoyed the cucumber vodka spritzer with fresh mint. Refreshingly amazing! I think it's one their best cocktails everyone loves here. Also, the appetizer of house-made ricotta, with pistachios for their homemade focaccia bread, was delicious!! The main course, we ordered the chef special with the lobster and linguine. I came here for dinner on a Sunday night and sat in the patio. The hostess was kind of rude. She originally wanted us to sit on the tables across the sidewalk when there were so many open seats on the couches/patio by the entrance so we asked if we could sit there instead and she gave us a look and then said I'll ask. She came back and seated us at the patio with the couches but she definitely looked annoyed. The service here is very slow. Food comes out very slowly so be aware of that. The food was so delicious but not worth the price. My husband got the 5oz waygu for $95 and it came with no sides. We also split the seafood linguine which was my favorite - so buttery and flavorful and the lamb bolognese. We also got the sides of Brussel spouts which I didn't care for the apple bits in there and too many loose leaves and the potatoes which was much better. For a $300 meal, I didn't think it was worth it. Yes the food was very good but I could've gotten a bugger steak Berns steakhouse at that price. read more

Tidbit! Don't skip the chicken. We expected half a roast chicken... And we were delighted by this spatchcocked, crispy, saucy piece of meat. Overall, Allelo was was doing what a good Italian restaurant should on a Saturday night: humming. Loud enough to feel alive, crowded enough to feel wanted, and with a line out the door. We felt lucky that we had made reservations. The starters delivered. Our waitress had recommended the beets which were earthy, just enough cheesy, and dressed with enough acid to counter the fatty cheese. The octopus was even better, with enough char to remind you that fire is still the cook's best friend. And then there was the focaccia -- pillowy, olive-oiled, warm -- the kind of bread that makes you slow down the whole meal. Our only piece of frustration was this bread; with 5 girls, and 4 slices, we had asked for 1 more slice... And we were charged, which feels uncomfortable. Otherwise, service was warm and attentive in the way that feels genuine rather than scripted -- no small thing for a table of women out for the evening who had just been through a rough day together. Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn't have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I'll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I'm surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. This was my first trip to Allelo, a Mediterranean-Aegean restaurant. I was in town for business and arrived solo. I was greeted by Carolina, a very confident and friendly hostess. I told her I wanted to sit outside so I could have dinner and read a book with a glass of wine. She told me it would be about 20 minutes and suggested I go to the bar. Once inside, I was greeted by Corey, who entertained me with a vibrant wine list and a quick tasting before selecting a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. As my wine was being poured in a delightfully elegant wine glass... Carolina told me my table was ready. They put me in the perfect spot for people watching. My server was Rachel, who shared the night's special offerings with great aplomb. I am not usually a Wagyu person, but I thought why not, yolo. I paired it with the cauliflower. But to kick things off,..I did the focaccia. The meal was so superb. I immediately texted a friend of mine and said we had to come back the following evening. Again with the Wagyu and the focaccia. Sue me, I'm a glutton for delight. My friend had the seafood linguine.... Which in keeping with the theme was exemplary. Our server for night two was Kyle... Who anticipated I ever need. Yesterday I tried the prix fixe brunch with four adults and two children and the food was excellent. The meal started with deviled eggs and a mezze plate with hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, and homemade bread that was perfectly crisp and soft. Courses that followed included bacon, French toast, an olive oil pancake, and scrambled eggs with ricotta. I usually do not like scrambled eggs, but these were honestly some of the best I have ever tasted and I am still thinking about the flavor today. Our server Jason was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated right at our reservation time, which I appreciated. My only complaint is the pacing. The prix fixe meal took far too long and we were there for about three hours. The gaps between courses were long enough that I had time to fully digest, which made it harder to enjoy later dishes. I went a few months ago for breakfast and I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything to rave about but this time..... THIS TIME!!!!!..... I got the octopus that came with a dill, jalapeño compressed watermelon that absolutely changed how i think about watermelon. Our server was so patient with us because we weren't hungry but wanted to try the testing menu, which i found to be very affordable for how much food we would get. We opted out but next time i will definitely try it. I ordered the seafood pasta which was a tad bit salty but i was referred a nice Malbec and used that to make do. My friends and I ordered: Neuske Thick Cut Bacon, Ricotta Soft Scramble, Papas Bravas, Turkish Eggs, and Olive Oil Pancakes, with That's Me Espresso (Espresso martinis) to drink. We could have ordered the family-style brunch, but decided we wanted more variety. The seasonal pastries our server helped order were the stars of the brunch. I have been crazy to come to this place for a really long time, and what an awesome experience we had! We came on a Monday, I heard it was industry night and yes we worked during weekend so this was perfect, I wanted to try everything so then we decided to try small plates and share. We started with the beef tartare, the gambas and the octopus, and OMG! They were all top notch but my favorite from those three was the beef tartare it was so good and well balanced, the we moved on to the bruleed goat cheese and that was outstanding, I know the change de menu by season, but this menu should stay forever, I just love all the autumn flavors they use. As a drink, I got not one but two of the "bay got me sipping" it was a very well done handcrafted drink, all the ingredients just go so perfect together. Then we ordered some desserts to share, they were all very good, we ordered the profiteroles, the baklava cheesecake and the apple tart, but my personal favorite was the cheesecake. Service was absolutely amazing, our server gave us a lot of options and personal recommendations, and they were all superb. The restaurant look very clean, decor is so modern and elegant!
