**FOOD POISONING** Had birthday reservations, the intake lady was not very friendly. She put us in the center of a busy room and I asked if we could sit at a table on the side, she seemed irritated but seated us there. Party of 4, I only had the salad bar. The rest did the meat and salad bar. The 3 people that did the meat all got food poisoning! HORRIBLE, and an awful way to spend a birthday night. After talking to our friends about the awful night they had too, I called the restaurant to let them know. The lady that answered seemed sort of concerned and got my info, but never called me back. If I was reviewing just based on the food quality, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars, but because I ordered the Boiada Meal to go, which is $35 plus tax - I must give it only three stars. The reason being is for $35 the website says the dish is enough to feed one to two people - that is laughable. I'm not one of those people who just gives out bad reviews for bad reviews sake - I'm someone who travels a lot and eats at various eateries from really fine dining to simple burger joints so I'm always evaluating the value of my food per $$ paid. This was unfortunately very poor value for the money. The food was good, but the Boiada dinner plate comes with two small drumsticks two small pieces of Brazilian sausage and two very small pieces of steak in addition to less than a half a cup of rice and a half a cup of beans for $34. I had little idea what to expect, as this was my first visit. Looking at pics and reading reviews barely prepares you for the experience. Each person at my table got a card: square for the 15 meat selections, and a heart for the special, 5 selections. Plus you got the salad bar, and that word does not do it justice. Yes, mostly cold foods, but also 5-7 soups and a relatively small section for the usual lettuces etc. Waiters walked around with 3 chunks of meat on a skewer, and if you wanted some you nodded or whatever, and depending on the meat, you'd get the whole thing or a slice. Or 3. Up to you. The chicken was a whole piece, and was OH SO GOOD!! Plus, a great way to try various cuts of beef, or lamb. And, for the birthday "cake", I got to choose what I wanted instead of the usual bowl of vanilla ice cream. As an aside, Julio was our primary waiter. He was talking with us with some delicious slabs of meat on his tray, and the knife, and asked us for a 5/5 star review. From the host she was very nice and accommodating when we wanted to switch tables before we started ordering, I had a spicy martini and it lived to its name it was spicy. But it went perfect with all the meat cuts we got. The meats were all cooked very well, had great taste and good quality. The salad bar also had great choices. Their black beans were amazing! Starting with the waitstaff, they are all terrific. Our guests ended up running a bit late, so our waitress arranged a cheese and bread basket for us (which they don't normally do). The Brazilian lemonades were incredible, they're creamy and made fresh to order. The decor is very nice - open, with some neat chairs, cool rustic chandeliers, and a really cool metal bull figure over the buffet. The salad bar/buffet food is kept at good, safe food temperatures - which is one of the things I am strict about whenever dining from a buffet. And lastly...the traditional Brazilian steakhouse experience is very good. Every cut of meat we tried was great, and we finished with the grilled pineapple - which had a delightful cinnamon/nutmeg spice and was so fresh and sweet, it was perfect as a dessert to round out the meal. I wish I'd gotten a photo of my plate, but I just got some of the salad bar - definitely give this place a try! read more

This restaurant was unfortunately a huge disappointment. Never spent that much on an evening out for 2 and had a splurge for once. Expected the price to match the food and service. For our chicken, half the meat was dried, flavorless, overcooked chicken wings. The steak was a couple slivers of meat that was mostly fat. The salad bar's hot food was all cold. We had to clear our own plates and the check came out double the price of our meal and we had to send it back. The service was decent, the salad bar was fun/tasty, but the wine was the highlight of our dinner (half price bottles on Wednesdays); however the quality of the meats lacked- most of it was fatty and tough. Also- we couldn't get the shrimp to our table to save our lives. We never got to try the shrimp and it was running out non stop... we should have tried harder, lol. I particularly enjoyed a fish dish they had in the salad bar area with a delicious, clean and pleasant mild flavor. The meat was excellent and varied. This was fairly disappointing. We came in for a birthday celebration but our experience was nothing to celebrate. We did get seated quickly but I would expect that with a virtually empty restaurant. It was our group of twelve and two smaller groups. We all did their salad bar with some predictable items and a few nice surprises, particularly the Brazilian cheese bread (I won't attempt to spell it in Portuguese). The meat servers made frequent rounds at first but it was mostly the same things for the first several passes. There was a variety of beef, chicken, pork, and possibly lamb. Most of it was pretty well cooked and flavorful but some was just dry and overcooked. Our waiter was initially attentive to us but was consistently forgetting things. My granddaughter waited more than 2/3 of the meal to get her drink even after multiple asks. Another somewhat troubling thing was the lack of seriousness our waiter seemed to have. The menu listed that there would be a 16.5% 'service charge' added and that 60% went to the employee or employees. I asked where the other 40% went and he literally laughed it off. I told him I was serious and he still laughed it off. I get that some restaurants use this tactic for large groups. I don't like it but I have accepted it. Actually, it's fine with me but it took money from our waiter's pocket because we usually tip 20-25%. The biggest flaw here, though is that when our (VERY LARGE) bill came, the service charge that the menu said would be 16.5% was charged out at 18%!! This is a small amount of money really and below the radar of most diners but this comes across to me as outright *fraud*. No one in the house wanted to talk about the 16.5% vs 18% discrepancy. How can you do that in good conscience?? Usually, when I don't like a place I tell people to try for themselves to see if their experience is different. Went here for new year's eve, all four of us got Rodizio dinner. I've gone to a few Brazilian steaks in California before but let me tell you: not only Boiada has better price but their services is also very, very good. They served SO MANY meats non-stop from the moment we were seated, their servers are all VERY kind and hospitable. They're also willing to listen on what kind of meat we're waiting for. Great restaurant atmosphere with really accessible salad bars. I don't eat at the salad bar that much because I didn't want to fill myself before the good stuff, but I can vouch for the meat. And the roasted pineapple... they're absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and caramelized beautifully! I will surely be back here again whenever I feel like eating Brazilian steaks! read more

Such a fun place! And such good food! I will note this is a bit on the spendy side, but the food and the experience are definitely worth it. The atmosphere is fun and upscale casual, and it is nice the tables are not right on top of each other. I will note the tables themselves are a little, shall we say, intimate? Just know you are gonna be kinda close to whoever you are dining with. The servers all moved around quickly, bringing all the different choices for you to try. I know it may seem like a lot price wise, but the food is great so definitely go for the option of trying everything. I will also note that all the servers were very friendly and positive, even though they were all but running from one table to the next serving people from their various skewers off the grill. I am going to share my experience of last Friday night at Spokane's Boiada Brazilian Grill I go out every Friday night for dinner and drinks with a group of friends. There are usually 9-11 of us each week. I always make reservations well in advance. We are always on time. This last week the choice was Boiada Brazilian Grill. I have never been there before but I have been to one similar several years ago. So I know basically how these places work. I checked the menu before I left home. I knew what I was going to order. When my group arrived, I was puzzled by why our table was up against a wall in front of the wine cabinet. The place was nearly empty, because it was early in the evening. We had to ask to move the table out from the wall for two reasons, so everyone could get out to go to the salad bar and because the wine steward had to keep reaching behind me to get wine out. This was uncomfortable, and poor planning. I noticed that the entire large dining room was completely set up, but I didn't know why at the time. I will come back to that later. Ordering dinner took way too long, it was chaos trying to get drinks ordered and they did not have the liquor I wanted as they only push the fancy Brazilian drinks that are expensive. Then waiter had to explain how to order dinner. There are three ways to order. 1. Salad bar plus a choice of 15 meats and grilled pineapple all you can eat. 2, Salad bar and a selection of 8 meats all you can eat, or salad bar and a choice of 1 meat. Since I have had a gastric bypass and I can eat very little at a time. this was not going to be an easy meal for me. But this is where the group wanted to go so I went along and I am used to working around this issue every week. I ordered the salad bar with a specific kind of cap steak. (8-10 ounces) I brought a" to go container" discreetly, because I do every week. I did not know at the time, that it is forbidden to take anything home. That was not stated anywhere that I saw online. Another person sitting across from me also ordered the same thing. The salad bar was a joke to me, there were only two items on this entire salad bar that I would eat. In fairness, my other dinner mates had no trouble filling their plates. When the waiter came around with our steaks on a skewer, he thinly sliced the other person two thin slices of steak, and came around to do the same to me. I realized right then, this is how they really rip people off. The person across from me is very timid and will not ask for more nor make any kind of fuss. I looked at the waiter and said, I want you to bring me my whole steak at once, med-rare, please. He looked furious at me. He spun on his heels and left. From the time, I ordered and finally got my entrée it was over an hour. When he finally returned he was rude and irritated while slicing the steak and it was far less than 10 ounces. As he turned to leave, he gave me the nastiest look I have seen in years. That is when I knew that this is how they make their money, by not serving what you pay for. The other party, who had the same as I did, never received any more steak for his $44. He probably got 1.5 ounces. While waiting for my steak to arrive and the rest of the table was half way through eating, about 60-75 people poured into the restaurant at one time. I think it must have been two busloads of adults. The place was completely full in two minutes and the noise level was deafening. It was so loud the waiters had to scream at the top of their lungs. I ate the small amount I could eat and discreetly, put the rest of my steak into a container in my purse. A few minutes later one of the guests asked for a doggie bag for his dog and was informed they do not allow that. Since the rest of the table ordered the $65 dinner plus at least $25 each in drinks plus 18% gratuity, our table's bill was hefty for what I considered barely mediocre food, just okay service and miserable ambiance. I would never recommend this place to anyone and even had it not been as noisy as a super bowl game in there, it is not a romantic or special occasion place to me and definitely not worth the price. read more

I had so looked forward to coming here because the concept about rotating meats sounds so good. But the entire experience was a disappointment! I felt like we were given scraps of meat to eat. Some of the meats felt overcooked and could have been old. The chicken was not juicy. It was dry. The different beefs were either over done (old?) or too raw. The meats were way over seasoned and too salty. Half way through the meal, the meats stopped coming. They were busy with a table of 6, so we got ignored. I did not have a single steak, the cuts were all slices of meat from a skewer. They were "scraps". For the price, the meats should be better and not just scraps given to us. The salad bar was under-whelming really. The hot items were all soupy and runny. Chicken stroganoff had no noodles. Service was good but the rotating meats were such a disappointment that it overshadowed the entire experience. We will not go back. read more

A very good dinner with more food than a human being should eat in one sitting. 17 of us sat down for a Friday evening dinner to enjoy.the weeks work. This was a good choice of a restaurant as it really provided something for everyone. If you're unfamiliar with this type of restaurant, it starts with a buffet of salad, shrimp, bacon, cheese, olives, and a variety of other appetizing food. Once you bring your food back to the table, the parade of meats start coming. From pork, steak, sausage, chicken, and a bunch of varieties of therefore mentioned meats ((including shrimp) the food just keeps coming and coming and coming. The tricky part is that the food comes in small portions so you don't realize how much you're eating unless you stay on top of it. I stayed on top of it. There's a huge variety of drinks and deserts to try as well .Careful here, you probably ate enough already. I had neither so not much to say here. The meat was excellent that came around; better than most of the ones I've visited. However, the salad bar and sides are not what I expected. Good greens but not much of a Brazilian tradition .
