Went here for a work party, we had about 9 people in our party. Next time I would go across the street to Loren. Same "upscale" vibe but Loren is so much better. Overall the experience here at clinker daggers was subpar. The interior was pretty cool, it's located in the flour mill so it has an old timey winery vibe. Their menu seemed predominantly seafood and had some yummy sounding food. The reason I'm giving this a two star is because the service was terrible! And the food was disappointing. It was sooooooo slow. Like from the time we sat down and put in our order was about half an hour. Once we put our food in the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Now my entree was very poorly executed. My prime rib was on the brink of raw. The potatoes were very dry. Needed more butter or heavy cream. Or if they really wanted to keep the recipe then it needed some type of sauce or gravy on top. My husband got the surf and turf and the shrimp was the driest he had ever had. Steak was very mid. My coworker really enjoyed the chowder but his entree which was a pork chop was very tough. Then we sat around with empty plates and empty drinks for a good extra thirty minutes before the waitress returned to take orders for dessert. The dessert was the tuxedo cake and that was very very delicious! Best part of the night. Also the waitress does not understand fine dining and how to properly serve plates and clear them. I have never been served utensils on the left, my food on the right in a literally back hug with her long hair down my neck. After trying to decide on a great place for a steak, this was the one in Spokane, Wa for us. Celebrating our 50th Anniversary , we wanted great food and atmosphere. Our hotel was along the river, with many trails to enjoy and travel on. We walked along the Centennial Trail to dinner. Our reservation was for 7:45, but went in a little early. We figured we would sit at their bar and wait. Great idea!! And yes you need a reservation. Clinkerdagger is in an old Flour Mill Building. It's beautiful, hats off to the interior designer. Beautiful wood, brick, soft lighting. The bar was great to sit in and order a drink and appetizer before dinner. I had an Impresso Martini and my husband ordered a Guinness, with that we shared an Artichoke and Crab Dip. Omg everything was so yummy. As we were seated, we were greeted with "Happy Anniversary!" Our waitress slipped a card on our table with Happy Anniversary and announced we would be receiving dessert, complement of Clinkerdagger. For dinner we ordered, a salad to begin with, a Caesar Salad for the husband and I the Broadway Pea Salad. Our waitress also brought to our table Garlic Buttered Bread. Wow, so tempted to devour it all!! Our entrees arrived, A prime rib for my husband and a Surf and Turf for me. Both entrees were Fabulous, and met our expectations for a steak dinner. Why didn't I know about this place 20 years ago?!!! I'm an airline pilot and finally found this place after I told Grok to find me a place that locals go and has awesome food and is a local institution! We sat at the bar for Happy hour and the bartender was lovely! She indicated she's been there for 38 years! I got a cup of clam chowder and the prime rib sliders O-M-G! Best chowder ever, and the sliders melted in my mouth I practically didn't have to chew! Then I was informed about the Key lime ‍ pie!!! Not to tart! Perfect! We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and were really looking forward to a relaxed, enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt rushed and disorganized from the start, and it quickly went downhill. We were pressured to place our entrée orders before our appetizers even arrived. We explained multiple times that we wanted to wait until the appetizers were served our son was deciding whether he wanted to order the same dish again. Despite this, the server kept returning to ask for entrée orders. Two of us received our appetizers, while the other two waited over 30 minutes. Even during that wait, we were repeatedly rushed to order entrées, which made the evening feel stressful instead of celebratory. For appetizers, one of us ordered the Seared Teriyaki Beef Tidbits, which were enjoyed. Another ordered the coconut shrimp, which was described as very bland. When we finally placed our entrée orders, three of us ordered prime rib (medium), and one ordered the teriyaki beef again. From there, everything fell apart. The teriyaki beef entrée was overwhelmingly salty so much so that it was completely inedible, as if an entire bottle of salt had been poured on it. My prime rib was sent back twice because it was not cooked to medium; it arrived well-done both times. When I pointed this out, the server blamed the lighting rather than acknowledging the issue. My husband's meal was overcooked the first time and raw the second. The lack of consistency was incredibly disappointing, especially for an anniversary dinner. The potatoes were stiff and so firm they could practically stand upright on a fork. The drinks were extremely watered down. Even our kids commented that their food was overly salty. We never complain or write negative reviews, which makes this especially hard to share. This experience was genuinely heartbreaking, and we left feeling disappointed rather than celebrated. We didn't even stay for what we assume may have been an anniversary dessert we were simply done. I'm sharing this not to be harsh, but because the restaurant needs to know. It's a spot right on the Spokane river with magnificent views, and such unique vibes - it's half old time pub (no river views, but TVs), half rustic cabin (the half with the river views). They serve up yummy gourmet seafood and steak dishes. I tried - French Onion Soup ($12) - I was surprised at how good this was! Flavorful broth and caramelized onions with LOTS AND LOTS of gooey cheese and a bit of bread. Blackened Rockfish ($27) - The Fish was fresh and seasoned wonderfully, and the herb couscous was the perfect complement. And OMG that Beurre Blanc sauce I could drink it. I'm glad I only had a little tureen of it. Yo girl is getting chonky. I'll leave room for dessert next time ;) Seems like a great place for celebrating a birthday (free dessert!) since I noticed few tables celebrating their birthday. Our server Nathan, was best in class. He was so friendly and had the best energy. We loved him. This was so fresh and delicious. We had the seafood Sample. I highly recommend. This place has seriously fallen off. We used to love coming here with our large family, but groups now feel entirely unwelcome. On multiple visit with 6-8, they seated us at a terrible table that stuck out partially into the hallway. Having crowds constantly walking past completely ruined the premium dining experience. While the river view remains amazing and the drinks are still good, the food quality has taken a massive dive and is simply not worth the price. I enjoy the service, atmosphere, and food. Pea salad is key, and I like their clam chowder. We have frequently got the prime rib, fresh fish and sometimes specials. Even lunchtime I tried casual and thought it was good. I'm never disappointed. The view is beautiful, great date night. read more

Sadly, after several solid meals here, my birthday dinner experience was pretty awful. It started out positively, with a good table, a nice view outside, and a card saying "Happy Birthday". Decent salad, good drinks. Then they were out of scallops, which is what I had wanted. So I ordered the most expensive fish on the menu, the Alaskan halibut. Unfortunately, it arrived so ridiculously salty, it was totally inedible. I had my husband try it as he loves salt, and he couldn't believe it. He said to send it back. Then he finished his meal while I waited 25 minutes for them to remake my meal. It finally arrived and it wasn't much better. The (very nice) waiter said the kitchen was out of beurre blanc, so they had used the salty garlic butter that was on the garlic bread. How were they out of butter and wine to make a sauce on a Thursday night? If I sent back fish for being way too salty, why would they cover it in a salty garlic sauce? Why not just leave it plain with some lemon or something? It was not good. The manager said the kitchen told her they would make fresh beurre blanc. I felt misled and horrible about expensive fish being wasted. So then it was an hour and a half later and I hadn't had dinner, only a salad and some bread. I was offered dessert on the house but I just wanted to leave. I'm still feeling confused about how badly this went. read more

So sad about this review but it needs to be heard, not only by potential diners, but by Clink's kitchen. I despise leaving negative reviews- especially at a place I've been going to since I can remember and will definitely go back to despite this specific experience. We hadn't been to Clink's yet this year so took friends from out of town for lunch- we highly recommended their clam chowder, which was a disappointment.... VERY watery and lacking flavor in a major way. I got a Caesar salad, per usual- the dressing was also watery and bland, while the lettuce was so cold in parts (almost frozen). We hardly touched the soups or Caesar. Our food took forever, everyone else around us who sat after us were done with their meals when ours finally came out, and apparently it was because the new chef messed up my cod sandwich- but oh well because these things happen and they attempted to make up for it with free desserts, which was nice. They have updated their menu a bunch recently- I enjoy their new 'lunch box' options, which comes with sides; I thought the Rock Fish was great, however it could have all been a warmer temp for sure. My cod sandwich was just ok- WAY too big pieces of cod for a sandwich as I could only eat one on there, and it became a mess- it wasn't very flavorful (mostly the coleslaw was lacking I think). Pea salad was awesome of course- always our fav. Our server was sweet and attentive, and we know none of the meal mishaps were her fault. Desserts were meh; the burnt cream was better than last year when we came, so that's good. This was a bummer, especially because Clink's is so nostalgic for us and the price point is more high- with dining out I don't expect too much these days but they really need to get their soup and Caesar figured out at the very least! read more

I have to preface that my experience is based off a huge blocked off party dinner and not a typical dine in experience. For my meals I got the French onion soup, Cesar salad, filet mignon , and Crème brûlée. French onion was just on the barlely warm side. If it was warmer it would've tasted so much better. Cesar salad had a weird bitterness aftertaste instead of a saltiness.Fillet mignon and shrimp were not seasoned but were cooked to the right temperature. After adding some salt it made it much better. The staff were definitely understaffed when it came to the service. Overall my experience was a bit of a letdown just due to the size of my party, but I bet it would've been better if it was a smaller group. read more

We are so disappointed with Clinkerdaggers management. First, our server was the only positive about our visit last night, she was great and had to deal with the managements failures all night. We had a reservation at 5:15, got there at 5;00. At 5:30 a customer asked the lady dealing with reservations if they were on schedule? She said yes?. We finally got seated at 5:45, half an hour late!. We had drinks, starters, and ordered dinner. The poor waitress kept giving us excuses for our late meals. So we finally got our meals at 8:30PM!, yes, 8:30PM. There is no excuse for this, three hours of waiting. Then to top it off, our food was lookwarm. I ordered the 16oz prime rib, I was so disappointed, waiting so long for a delicious prime rib, I obviously got the last piece, it was 50% fat, and I am not kidding. Came here for Christmas dinner. I chose this place because it was open and walking distance from the hotel, and the menu could accommodate all palates. I would only recommend salad and clam chowder. Food: it was a fixed dinner menu. I got the salad and balsamic dressing. My husband got the clam chowder. The salad was well done and fresh and nice dressing. Despite having a reservation for 7 pm, the restaurant made us wait ten minutes before seating us. Guests who had reservations scheduled after ours were seated before we were, which I found to be pretty frustrating, especially since we arrived on time. The restaurant has a dark, upscale atmosphere and was packed which we hoped meant the food would be delicious and we definitely weren't disappointed. As an appetizer, we got the crab and artichoke dip. It was really creamy and paired well with the crunchy baguette. Personally I loved that the dip didn't have any spinach in it because I'm intolerant to it, so I appreciated that I was also able to enjoy the appetizer. Definitely do not come here if you are hungry. We didn't get served until more than an hour after we were seated. Thankfully, the cosy atmosphere didn't make it feel like we were waiting forever, and my family enjoyed catching up while we waited for our food. But by the time our food did come we were definitely starving. My mom's seafood trio was cooked to perfection. The scallops were not at all rubbery, I loved how perfectly the seafood paired with the glaze. The garlic shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned and I loved the texture of the salmon. My mom is a seafood lover, and she adored her dish. My dad and I both ordered the crab and shrimp fettuccine, and I was grateful that they were able to accommodate me and make my dish without spinach. I thought the pasta was well done and the white wine sauce was delectable. The portions for everything were huge and we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. My sister and I shared the fettuccine along with a side of lobster mac & cheese which was to die for. We adored how creamy the cheese was and paired with the lobster, it made for a really filling meal. Between the two of us, we were barely able to make it through half the dish, even though it was so delicious that we wanted to keep eating. For dessert, we picked out the bread pudding which was absolutely delicious. Bread pudding is a favourite in our family and Clinkerdagger's is well-made and definitely on par with other ones we've tried, though it didn't stand out. My sister paired that with a latte, and I got the Java & Velvet. I thought my drink was the perfect blend of sweet with a kick of coffee. Easter dinner, I got the Cesar, prime rib and key lime pie special. I would have to say, in all honesty, that I was served the worst prime rib I have ever had - probably that anyone has ever had. Super dry (like jerky), thin and without any hint of flavor. I would not doubt that this is a cut that was leftover from the previous day. Ugh! I am embarrassed for them. Completely unacceptable. The Cesar salad was unexciting but palatable. The mashed potatoes were quite excellent, and the calamari appetizer was fantastic. The key lime pie was NOT key lime pie, it was more like a jello-like dessert wedge. It was fine, but not as advertised. Our waitress was nothing short of sensational! Clinkerdagger was the best part of our trip. My wife and I drove up from Utah and stayed in Spokane for the night of our anniversary, on our way up to Seattle/Tacoma. Our server and hostess were kind and gave us a free Crème Brûlée for our anniversary and I will say our server was flawless with attentiveness, care, and hospitality. We started with a large Caesar salad to share, and when I say it was the best salad of my life I don't even know how that's possible, but it truly was. She had the 7 oz steak that comes with asparagus and mash, and also ordered a side of mushrooms. It's important to note that I'm not a mushroom person, and had no problem helping her finish them off when she was full! I ordered the Seafood Trio where I had the pleasure of enjoying THE best salmon I've ever tasted in my life, along with beautifully cooked shrimp and scallops. 2025 STILL NO VEGAN OPTIONS, gave the salmon a try regardless of the lack of plant based options and was disappointed. Had weird chemical taste like it was cooked in plastic or something, probably better off eating it raw sashimi style. The waiter was at least able to swap the mashed potatoes for fingerling potatoes but they were over seasoned and super oily. Despite the nasty food my drink was a dragon mojito very yummy, would get again! Your best bet for a plant based meal would be a salad with no cheese and maybe fries? They probably use same oil for fish and chips though as they do for the fries. Heres hoping they expand their menu somewhat in the coming year!
