I would like to start out by saying everything started out great. Our server was really on top of it. Our drinks were delicious, I had a dirty martini my wife had an expresso martini. We agreed it was one of the better expresso martinis we have ever had. We got the baked Bri as an appetizer and it was very good the hot honey was a great compliment. My wife got the curry chicken dish I cannot remember the name of it but she loved it and I thought it was very good. I would like to preface that I went in without expecting to be blown away by a 38 dollar steak. However it just wasn't good even for a 10 dollar steak. I ordered their peppercorn sauce on the side and I'm glad I did as it was absolutely heinous and would have rendered the steak completely inedible. As it was the steak was cooked properly to the way I ordered it however I believe they were relying on the sauce for seasoning as this lacked even a hint of salt, pepper or any other seasoning on the meat. To top it off the gas flavor from the grille was quite overpowering. The ribeye was quite tough and lacked any real intramuscular fat which is expected in the price point. But would have been completely fine had the meat been seasoned even the slightest. I would try the restaurant again if ever in town however I would be staying away from the steak for sure. My wife and I love the Oval Office. Whenever our son is at a sleep-over or on a class trip, this is our late night spot. We love sitting at the bar and meeting new people. The bar tender is fun to talk with as well. The drinks are creative and very tasty. We also love to order the small dishes. When our son is home, we like to go here for dinner. I would say we have dinner more often at their sister restaurant, The White House, but we like to come here for a fun atmosphere and good food. Our son likes it better. So, there's something for everyone here and it certainly worth visiting. read more

This is hands down my favorite place in the area!!! WONDERFUL, fun, strong craft cocktails and yummy food! The bar and restaurant are sooo cozy, outside eating with warm fires or inside with the friendly amazing staff in either location! Everything we have tried has been scrumptious! Awesome martinis and awesome service! Loud but fun atmosphere go along with the delicious menu and drink options. These guys have a great sense of humor on their drink names, but our favorites were the swervin bourbon, and the FU Inslee! Food wise loved the cowboy pasta which was extremely tasty and the Chicken dijon was devine! We started with the french onion soup which made me not even want dinner! Visiting my Dad and he suggested the Oval Office for lunch in Post Falls ID, knowing my passion for a good beer and food to go with it. It was a great choice! This place has so much to offer. An outdoor bar, several places indoors and out to sit. We went inside, about 1pm and there was plenty of seating. ( I hear it gets pretty crowded after normal work hours.) we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our server was amazing, attentive and friendly. I opted for a beer and their bacon burger. It came with some tastefully seasoned crispy fries. The burger was a piece of culinary beauty! A great brioche bun gave home to a flavorful beef patty, thick bacon, fresh crisp lettuce and a thick tomato slice( no cheese for me but it comes with it) One of the best burgers I have had! My Dad opted for seafood and downed a huge bowl of clams and calamari. He didn't leave any behind! read more

Made group reservations well in advance for a party of 14 and were VERY EXCITED for New Year's Eve. Was not even sat together, was split into 2 tables when there were other options/places to put us together. 3 people had to sit apart from us. Was very disappointed in that. And one person didn't get their food till the rest of us were almost finished. We were approached about 'how troublesome splitting the bill was going to be' ...yet we had no intention of splitting the bill and only wanted one check. No one was ever able to order a second beverage. And we got the bread after our food, once we asked if our meals came with bread. We didn't feel very welcome. We realize it was a busy night and we THOUGHT we had planned accordingly, only to be treated as an inconvenience. Also, Both people who ordered the burger special were sick as soon as we got home. The food at the Oval Office rocks!!! Really interesting menu and everything was well executed. I ordered the petite Gorgonzola lamb burgers. These breathless wonders were to die for. The wings of fire were perfectly crispy and tender with an excellent buffalo sauce. The steak tacos were amazing, tender with just the right amount of jalapeño heat My brother ordered the cowboy pasta which was way more interesting than I thought it would be and was very well executed. My son got the Will Barron ribeye steak, cooked to a perfect medium, rare with an excellent mushroom Gorgonzola sauce on top. The portion was so generous he never even got to the mac & cheese side dish. Our server, McCally was great even though it was really busy this New Year's Eve of 2024! Disappointing First Experience at the Newly Remodeled Oval Office I want to start by saying this review isn't coming from someone who's impossible to please--I promise. It's also a collective review from all four of us at the table. We decided last minute to try the new OO on Valentine's Day, curious about the remodel. I called early in the day, hoping for a reservation, and was told they had a 4:30 slot available. I gave my last name, and the reservation was made--simple enough. However, when we arrived, things started off on a frustrating note. First, parking was confusing. When you pull in, it looks like you can park in the shared lot with Domino's next door. However, while we were dining, a waitress came around asking if anyone was parked in the Domino's lot because they needed to move their car. The restaurant's parking is very limited, and there were no clear signs indicating restrictions, which made it an unnecessary hassle. Then, as we checked in at the host stand, we were met with an unexpected issue. One of the hosts asked for our reservation name, and after I gave it, she responded with, "What's your password?" Confused, I asked if she was joking, but she insisted it was a serious requirement. This was the first I had ever heard of a restaurant requiring a password for a reservation. I explained that I had only been asked for my last name when I booked, and she reluctantly let us in, saying, "Just this one time." It was an odd and frustrating way to start the evening, making me feel like I was being interrogated at the door. I still don't understand the purpose of a password--are people randomly guessing last names to steal tables? Once seated, we let our server know that three of the four people at our table had food allergies, all fairly common ones. We asked for recommendations: one person needed dairy-free options, another gluten-free, and another rice-free. The server seemed uncertain and suggested we all just order steak, which wasn't what we wanted. We asked if a hamburger with a gluten-free bun was available, and she said she'd check with the kitchen. We waited. And waited. She eventually brought our drinks, but when we asked if she had asked about our allergy concerns, she admitted she hadn't had a chance yet. Nearly 20 minutes later, we asked again, and she told us she had finally checked, but the kitchen staff was "snippy" with her. She relayed that the buns contained dairy and that they were out of gluten-free buns altogether. Her response gave us the impression that she wasn't comfortable asking the chef further questions, which didn't inspire confidence in the restaurant's ability to accommodate allergies. Then my brother-in-law received his salad--supposed to be a blue cheese wedge chopped salad, but it arrived covered in sunflower seeds, which he's allergic to. We've never seen sunflower seeds included on that type of salad, so it was unexpected. Since it had taken so long to arrive, he didn't bother sending it back and just didn't eat it. To top it off, when our salads arrived, we had no silverware, and I had to get up and find someone to bring us some. The atmosphere was also a challenge. It was incredibly loud, and the seating was so tightly packed that we could barely hear each other talk--even in a corner booth. As for the menu, it lacked details. Some dishes were vaguely described, like "with a side of vegetables," without specifying what kind. There were also no allergy indicators, such as "GF" for gluten-free or "DF" for dairy-free, which are pretty standard in restaurants today. Given that this place seemed to be aiming for a high-end dining experience, we were surprised by how unpolished the menu felt--it looked like it had been quickly printed and assembled without much thought. Overall, we were really hoping this would be a great new option for dining in town, but our first experience left us unsure. Between the confusing parking situation, the awkward check-in process, the struggle with allergy accommodations, and the lackluster service, it just didn't live up to expectations. With better service, clearer menu descriptions, and a more accommodating approach to food allergies, it could have potential. For now, though, we're not sure if we'll be back. The new Oval Office was sooooooooo worth the wait! Raci did a beautiful job with the rebuild/remodel. A bar that used to seat 5 or so people now serves approximately 20! And the granite is gorgeous! So much is different, yet so much is the same. You'll still find your favorites on the menu. (I always love the mussels and clams.) And be sure to check out Happy Hour from 2-5. Great staff, great food, great menu choices, great environment, BUT... As Christians, my family and I were extremely offended by the picture of President Trump dressed like Jesus saying he almost died for our sins (May not be a direct quote, but close enough). We find this not only in poor taste but sacrilegious. I don't know who your advertising manager is, but if your goal is to maintain and increase your cliental, you should reconsider your marketing strategies. Have been here multiple times now and looking forward to next visit. Clean and well-appointed for casual dining but it is located on a busy road not far from the interstate. Parking can be a challenge. But inside is nicely set up for drinks and meals. Service is solid. Drinks unique and very good. Food is both fun with both the expected and innovative available. Taste is outstanding. With friends we collectively have had many (but not most) of menu items and both personal experience and reports from others make this a consistent thumbs-up. I some respects this place has set bar against which we judge other local foodie options. read more

First time here and we were impressed. Our server was very kind and helpful. One of us needed gluten free and she made sure to double check on the food before ordering that it was safe. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The restaurant was clean. It is a little loud but it was also very full. The only negative was the domino's pizza guy came out and yelled at us for where we were parked because it was their lot, so we moved. But the experience at the Oval Office was great. read more

Oval Office has always been my go to for drinks with the girls, or sharing apps. I was patiently waiting for their re opening after their remodel and have been 3 times already. It is loud, but as someone who yaps, I love it. Moody and dark they definitely got the ambiance right. The lamb sliders, mushroom, and calamari were amazing. Ooh and the French onion soup! I love the names of all their martinis and would go for that alone. The most recent time I was there we sat at the bar, and the bartender was so fun and made the experience worth writing this review! Got there at 4:30 and sat at the bar, waiting for a table. Got our table at about 4:50 and ordered right away. In one hour and 10 minutes we got 3 salads and a bowl of soup, no entrees. The Oval Office has recently reopened after a major renovation. My buddy and I stopped by for lunch. We had the American Dip sandwich, French onion soup, and my buddy had a martini. I gave the Oval Office three stars for three reasons: First, the bottom bun of the American Dip sandwich was soaked with liquid to the point the sandwich would fall apart when picked up. Less liquid or a more sturdy bun would help. The cheese on the sandwich was not fully melted with intact slices of cheese sticking out of the bun. The sandwich beef was very good. The French Onion Soup was good but very very very salty. My buddy enjoyed his martini. We sat in a small room separate from the main restaurant and chose a table near Spokane Street. It was so cold in the room that we both kept our jackets on and had them zipped up. If you sit near the wall with the door then the large overhead infrared heaters will keep you comfortable. But if you sit somewhere else in the room there is little heat. I'd choose sitting in the main restaurant, I will next time. The service was OK, they worked hard. I drained my water glass but it did not get refilled. I'll be back to the Oval Office because they have an interesting menu and its sister restaurant The White House Grill is one of my all time favorite restaurants. But I won't order the American Dip and I will sit in the main restaurant building. read more
