Coffee is so good. Tastes high quality and I love coming here instead of chain shops. Well worth it

Do they serve any kind of food?

We usually have fresh baked scones from Shauna's Sweets and donuts from Donut Street Cafe as well as cookies and biscotti. Thanks for asking :) -Dave

I ordered one of their specialty drinks, dubbed The Artemus, which is a hazelnut dirty chai with caramel sauce.

What a quaint little coffee shop in downtown Sutter Creek!…read more We were running some errands the other week and I needed an afternoon pick-me-up. I remembered that Chocolatte was nearby and decided to go support a local business. It's been a hot minute since I've gotten a coffee from them, and I was intrigued by their Valentine's Day menu. Ultimately I went with an iced Cupid's Cherry Kiss, while my husband wanted an affogato with extra shot. The staff were friendly and efficient at making our beverages. While we waited, we took a seat by the window to people watch. My drink was so cute, especially with the sprinkles. They added a lovely texture to a velvety chai. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet even with the sprinkles and cherry white chocolate. As expected, the affogato was strong with the extra shot, but still smooth without being bitter. I need to remember to come back to Chocolatte more often. There's plenty of seating and the vibes are so cozy. Prices are okay, a little high but I'd rather be supporting a local business than Starbucks. They also have various pastries to choose from. We didn't get any this time but they all looked so fresh and good. PS: They also serve Gunther's ice cream!

The next morning, we heard from the locals the Choc-O-Latte that serves good breakfast so we went. It is known for its specialty coffees, lattes, and a wide variety of chocolates and desserts, including truffles, eclairs, and s'mores treats. The cafe offers a cozy, historic atmosphere making it a great spot for a quick treat. The cafe has an outdoor patio, and is dog-friendly as we met one who was popular and friendly with the locals. We ordered almond croissants and lattes and were delicious. Other friend had ice cold chai latte. The servers were young and nice. We don't mind returning to their nice cafe shop if we are in the area.

A Pleasant Surprise with a Small-Town Feel…read more This one caught me off guard--in a good way. I was out with my family practicing for my daughter's driving test at the DMV up the street. We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back for another meal.

That's kind of like a steakhouse running out of steak before dinner. Then there's the mystery chair sitting right in the middle of the drive-thru entrance. What's the plan there? Is it a checkpoint? A timeout chair? Am I supposed to pull up, have a seat, and wait for someone to explain why my Cold Foam Horchata is now a work of fiction? You can't drive around it, so it feels oddly intentional. To make matters worse, Little Caesars is right next door. If I sit in that chair long enough, I'm convinced someone's going to hand me a cup of ranch instead of coffee. And the staff? Let's just say the energy matched the empty cold brew tap--completely gone. I've seen more enthusiasm from a self-checkout machine. It felt like I interrupted a group project they didn't want to be part of in the first place. No smiles, no urgency, just vibes of "you're lucky we're even open." The whole experience felt like the coffee version of showing up to a pool party and finding out they forgot to fill the pool--and then getting attitude for asking where the water is. On the bright side, the Starbucks inside Safeway just earned itself a 5-star review for simply existing and apparently keeping cold brew in stock.

From what I understand, they had some building issues they were working through, and then their landlord passed away. So we were SO pleasantly surprised to find out they had reopened in a new location... the old Denny's building in Jackson! The best part? The food is still just as delicious as we remembered! They've added a lunch buffet, there's a lot more seating, and the new space looks really nice while still having that familiar feel. Sean got his usual chicken tikka masala, and I decided to try the veggie tikka masala this time. Both were absolutely excellent...packed with that rich, delicious Indian flavor we love. We also got the garlic naan, and everyone at the table enjoyed the whole meal. We're so happy they're back! If you love Indian food, definitely give Taste of Himalaya a try. We'll be back every time we're in town!
