a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin
Alex L.

My kryptonite when it comes to discovering new, local businesses is coffee shops. The Local Bean, located in a quiet strip of shops in sleepy Rancho Murieta, was a place I'd passed on many an occasion but only recently had the pleasure of trying for the first time. My father suggested we meet there for a coffee while we were in the area. I went with a Chai tea Latte and a blueberry scone from their pastry counter. The scone was rich and delicious; the drink well-made, piping hot, creamy and foamy. The whole place is filled with small-town charm - locals gathering for leisurely morning chats, friendly folks behind the counter and an overall laid-back vibe that encourages you not to rush through your day. They have a nice patio out front which is a perfect place to sip your joe while soaking in the morning sun. I don't live close enough to do this often, but I know this will be my coffee spot of choice going forward whenever I'm back in Rancho Murieta.

This is all that was left. Lol

Stopped here while waiting for my son to go air soft shooting and needing coffee. They had plenary of menu options. I ordered a caramel macchiato and and eggs, potatoes and gravy plate. They both were really good and the staff was very polite and nice. It has that local feel, since almost everyone that walked in knew each other. Lol But it was a nice stop and satisfied the coffee need and breakfast meal. Will be back when in the area to try more food.

The Local Bean in RAncho Murieta. So inviting. Good coffee drinks, breakfast and a great place to meet your friends.

The Local Bean is our favorite place to go for coffee, pastries, breakfast or brunch. The new owners have made it so clean and inviting- inside or out on the patio. Locals congregant their to chat or to meet people that are from around the world that stop for coffee and something to eat as they pass by RAncho Murieta. We love our morning visits. Open early morning till after lunch.

Coffee was good. Breakfast sandwiches were great. It's a small place, so make sure you give a little extra time for them to prepare things.

The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality made for a great breakfast. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be dreaming about that croissant until then.

Before my big move to Washington, I made one last visit in February 2026 with some friends because I knew I had to eat here one more time before leaving. Since then, I still haven't found another crepe place that compares. If you want crepes, they absolutely have your back. I never bothered ordering much else because once I found my favorite, I stayed loyal to it every single visit! The spinach and crab crepe on spinach batter. SO good every time. They also offer gluten-free crepe options, which is nice, but personally the spinach batter was unbeatable for me. Now appetizers?? Escargot and French onion soup all the way, baby! The escargot was plump and soaked in buttery oil goodness, and the French onion soup was savory, cheesy, rich, and super filling. Writing this review is making me hungry all over again. My family has tried the French toast before and thought it adequate. Simple, classic, and exactly what you'd expect from French toast. No complaints there. The restaurant itself has a cozy, humble atmosphere with paintings decorating the walls, and there's a decent amount of seating. Parking can be a little tight since it's a one-way parking lot situation, but manageable. We usually entered through the main building entrance that connects with the neighboring cantina restaurant, though there's also an outside patio entrance. Service is where the experience could be a little hit or miss, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I often preferred takeout because my order would usually be ready right when I arrived. Dine-in service depended heavily on how busy they were and what time of day you visited. Sometimes the servers were attentive and checked in frequently, while other times it could take awhile to flag someone down. Oddly enough, I noticed they seemed more attentive when I dined solo, probably because I usually came during quieter weekday mornings. I will say though, Danielle's Creperie holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me, especially with friends/family. It will always be one of my favorite comfort breakfast spots.

The guy who made my crepe was nice, I was kind of in a hurry because my parking spot time was almost up and he made my crepe pretty fast. Stay away from the waffles and bagel sandwiches. I ordered a waffle for my son and expected a large, typical pressed waffle. The waffle he was served was about a quarter in size of one of those large waffles and tasted like a glazed donut was pressed in a waffle machine. I had asked for syrup and powdered sugar on the side as we try to limit sugar for our toddler and I was appalled that this waffle was literally a glazed donut. My husband and I ordered the classic, but paid $1 extra each to turn it into a bagel sandwich. The bagel was incredibly dry, the bagel was bacon bits that were falling off the bagel, the cheese was shredded cheese that was not even fully melted, and there were a few pieces of scrambled egg that were ok. It was actually inedible for me. I ate the egg and some of the bacon bits with a fork, but threw out the rest as it was not worth eating. I was incredibly disappointed with this breakfast. You order at the counter and they don't even bring out your food to you. It is a decent sized space and they have indoor and outdoor seating.

I decided to order the crêpe Capito with bacon, egg, and potatoes. It's basically a crêpe breakfast burrito. I had a choice of sauce and they recommended the mushroom sauce which was delicious. If I can critique it, I will say the potatoes are a bit too big for this burrito but I'd order this again! The French toast was fluffy and flavorful. I recommend that as well. The eggs, potato and bacon plate was a good portion. The bacon was delicious with the brown sugar peppery flavor. I had to order the hazelnut crêpe to try and the powdered beignets. The beignets were so fluffy and good. The chocolate dip on the side was too rich for me. We really enjoy the crêpe. I expected more hazelnut filling inside but it was a Belgian style which I'm assuming it's different than what I had expected but I enjoyed it. It had a cinnamon taste to it. The service was good. I feel like it took a while to get the food prepared but I will say the food made up for it.

We got the strawberry dessert crepe with cream cheese filling topped with chocolate and with a side of whipped crème and that was decadent! Highly recommend! I do wish they still had a liquor license because I wanted a mimosa. They used to be really good. I guess only one liquor license per building and since they share with Ibiza, it isn't possible. I decided to try something different and unfortunately it wasn't a winner for me. The Swiss cheese on my crepe was simply placed on top rather than incorporated into the dish, which felt a bit odd. The service was still friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere remained enjoyable. I especially appreciated the outdoor seating today. It was quiet, relaxing, and perfect for a little people-watching while enjoying the fresh air.
