I haven't been to this joint for a hot minute. There's a Boise Boba conveniently by my house so I always stop at that one before I head downtown. I wanted something sweet to drink this afternoon. The District is my usual go to since they are across the street from me. But they are currently closed for the building remodel so I made me way to Boise Boba. It was later in the afternoon when I stopped in. It was chill. The sweet gal that was working was hanging out. I looked over the menu board to see if there were any new flavor combos I might have missed. I have pretty much tried all their fruity teas and they are all so good. I went with the Berry Nice today. My drink was good as usual, nice and fruity. The lychee jellies are a fun touch to the drink. Baby girl that a working was really sweet. Glad I stopped in today for an afternoon drink. read more

Coming from the Bay Area, boba sets a high standard elsewhere (except in Taiwan, where it's a given). I was feelin' dessert after lunch, so Boise boba caught my eye. The menu was simple- but flavors and names seemed a bit kitschy. Flavor combos with names like moo moo, jungle escape, bliss (to name a few) were a bit interesting, but I liked the easy to follow menu with the set prices. Want it hot or cold? Blended or iced? Small or large (these also had nicknames)? Any toppings? The nice thing was that toppings had no additional charge. However, when I ordered, they had no more original boba and it took well over 20 minutes to make the drink. Granted, only one person was creating drinks and one person ringing them up- but definitely be prepared to wait if there are others ahead of you. I ordered the moo moo (taro and golden tea) with aloe jelly, and it satisfied my craving. Decent for milk tea/fruity drinks, but there's not much around to compare it to. read more

I went here two days in a row because there isn't a single bubble tea shop in the state I live- and after my second time ordering the gal behind the counter remembered my boba preference! I was shooketh. Boise Boba seems to be the best and most reputable tea shop in the area- small inside but with lovely art on the walls by local talent and with a really chill atmosphere as well. I know some people haven't had the best experience taste wise with BB, but I don't think it's fair to compare this joint to boba's birthplace and places in CA ;p I'm also a taro puritan, but the mixed taro options they had really surprised me. My mama LOVES boba, so when she came to town a few weeks back, I knew I had to take her here! We both ordered blended bobas. I got the "purple velvet" and she ordered the lavender. Boise Boba offers multiple options for how you can customize your drink: first you choose what flavor you want, then what size, what type of "bottom" you want (we opted with regular boba), and if you want it blended or iced. So many options! It was a hot day, so we both thought a blended drink sounded nice. In fact, I'd recommend always doing this. Why? Because it slows you down! Every time I order Boba, I drink it within five minutes because it's so dang good and those straws are massive. If it's blended, you gotta slow down...lest you get a brain freeze. Right? Cost was less than $5 per drink, and drinks were ready within 3-ish minutes. Not much to say about the vibe of this place. It is pretty simple in here. What makes this shop shine is their drinks! We were just behind it admiring the art work on the back of building when we saw the store. Seeing that there was a line, it must be good? Well, for the money, this was a total waste. We got 2 large boba drinks. One was taro and the other one had strawberry or some berry taste. Both were ok, but it was just more sugar than flavor. Then there's the boba, which is the signature part of the drink. But they were hard and overly chewy. Ended up finishing the drink and throwing the rest of boba away. I have no idea how the Boba tastes, but the service is abhorrent. The bathroom does not have a proper lock on it, and I was walked in on by a male customer unassuming since it is a male and female bathroom. When I approached the employees with said issue, they dismissed me and acted like it was no big deal. I would also like to point out that I had to say their names (employees) multiple times to get their attention because they were chitchatting behind the counter, not paying attention to customers. Since my last review I've found more things i absolutely love about this place! *The customer service is phenomenal (most of the time). There's always going to be days when someone isn't having the best day and i understand that. Besides that, the service has been great. Everyone knows who i am, they know my order and they're super kind. Even if i order Uber eats they know it's my order because it's unique (& ordered often lol). *My latest obsession has been the milk teas. Blended or iced. Wow. They're addicting! Since moving here I've been looking for a boba place and have tried out both locations of Boise Boba. The inside of both locations is your typical boba tea place with tables and chairs and a cute layout. It's very much like a coffee shop. They mostly have ice drinks and hot drinks and four different sinkers you can pick from. Each time I visited I tried the golden tea, which is a black milk tea, with boba. At both locations the boba wasn't great. The center didn't taste cooked all the way through or was cooked too much to the point that you're constantly just chewing. The tea I would rate a 6-7 out of 10. It might be worth for them to offer sweetness levels so that we can customize the flavor to our liking. One time I ordered this drink it was pretty bitter as if there was no sweetener and then the second time it was sweeter but I would probably want it a little bit more sweet. I've been coming to the downtown location for a few years now and have never had a bad experience hence the five starts but today was different. My order was completely forgotten for well over twenty minutes and no compensation nor apology was attempted. They also asked me to repeat my order at least three times and the blended drink I received was significantly more watery than usual. Granted, it was busy but what prompted me to leave the review was that the two employees seemed to be playing around a bit engaging in friendly banter and gossip. I fully understand trying to have a good time on the job, but the priority is the work itself and should be completed before play. They offer 2 sizes, dozens of flavors, milk tea, fruit tea, or blended teas, and either boba, jellies, or bursts (I think).
