Indigo and I stopped in for a drink. I couldn't articulate what I wanted but the guy behind the counter helped me out. I had a matcha green tea smoothie with boba. It was delicious! It took a minute to make as most smoothies do but well worth the wait. The price was fine, in my opinion, and about the same as a medium latte. Service was friendly, the young man was sweet and smiled at Indigo, and he greeted us when we came in and thanked us as we left. I see a lot of negative reviews but I had a positive experience. I write this review with a tear in my eye because Boise Boba replaced the former Leaf Teahouse but the people are super friendly and very accommodating. Upon leaving we were asked how we liked it which I really appreciated. My husband's watermelon Boba tea was too sweet and gritty and powdery tasting. They offered to make him another promptly and used syrup instead of powder. What great customer service and was so impressed how receptive they were to feedback. Our first time here visiting from Vegas and of all the Boba places my wife and I have tried in Sin City and throughout Oahu, HI, this place is different in a great way. I got an Iced Boba Pom Pom. I often go with a milk tea boba anywhere I go and happy to have tried something new and tasty. Being that it's iced the boba firms up to be pleasantly nice and chewy. Very refreshing and the price for a Gucci 24 ($4.85) is perfect. We were welcomed in right away and the few questions we asked were answered promptly. The two employees we met working were both uplifting and friendly. No complaints. This was a nice short stop that we'll keep in mind to visit again. read more

This is one of those places the kids love, so we keep giving it a try. We haven't had a decent experience there in months. It always takes a long time to get your drink. I don't remember a time when they actually had all the listed menu items available. The drinks are average at best. About a month ago, their credit card machine wasn't working, so they just told customers to use exact change. A couple of days ago, we decided to give them one last chance. The order taker just stood there waiting -- no greeting, no asking what we'd like. After ordering, she turned the machine around so I could enter the tip. She stood there with her hands on her hips and stared at me. lol. I decided this was just ok service, so only tipped her $1. She turned the screen to the other employee and made a face. I really enjoy this spot. I have come here to have tea and catch up with friends. The first time I had the Moo Moo and the second time the Hot Velvet. I had not had either combination of teas and what not before but I truly loved it. My friend was introduced to different "bottoms" other than tapioca balls and he was so in love with the passionfruit balls too. I like it here. It is a little out of my budget for me to visit daily but is comparable to the cost of a Starbucks medium drink. Ok, gotta say I'm a big classic bubble tea person (black milk tea with boba) and was super excited to be moving to a city that had bubble tea right downtown. Was unfortunately really disappointed. The boba was waaay too over cooked and chewy and the milk tea was terrible. Most places will let you choose the sweetness level and they looked at me funny when I asked. The lady was nice and let me try a little sample ahead of time (thus 2 stars instead of 1) but when I asked for it a little less sweet she literally just watered it down. So that's exactly what it tasted like..watered down "tea" with overcooked boba. Maybe it was just the day though, the place was busy and they have a lot of options so obviously something is worthwhile. May go back to try the taro or honeydew with aloe, hopefully better than the one I got today :/ read more

Stopped in today to meet with a friend and a few things could be improved. First, the cashier was not very friendly at all and actually seemed annoyed or pissed off. Maybe he wasn't having a great day? Anyways, the people who ordered before us were waiting for a long time, and we ended up waiting for a while for my friends drink. I ordered right after her but didn't get my drink until well after some other customers who came in after me got theirs. I think what happened was that someone who ordered after me got the same drink as I did and she ended up taking mine. They didn't take our names down, so hence the confusion. This could be resolved by simply taking names down. The location is also in a tough spot. It's pretty hard to get to if you're driving downtown and trying to go there specifically like I was. I couldn't find a street spot so I had to park in the garage and walk, which I'm not a fan of. If you work or live downtown it's not a problem but a lot of us don't. Overall the drink was okay although the actual boba had a weird taste. I used to work in a bubble tea shop in SoCal so I consider myself more "educated" than most on boba flavor. It was also pretty pricey. It seems like there are a few kinks to work out since they just opened, so I'm totally willing to go back in a few weeks and give them another try. read more

This was my first boba tea experience, and Boise Boba was the best place to do it. With a huge selection of tea flavors and add-ins, there is sure to be something for everyone. The wait is a little longer than you'd expect at a normal coffee shop (given the extra steps needed to make a proper boba tea), but the atmosphere in the shop made the wait easy. Today I went in around two and the girl behind the counter was in her phone talking and when I approached the counter she turned her back to me and stayed on the phone instead of taking my order.
