When I first moved to Charlotte I found Bossy Beulah's in Southend. I heard the oldies jams and I fell in love especially with the decor and ambiance. I had a chicken sandwich and some potato salad and I was amazed and the service was so friendly. Today I'm their fair new location near Concord Mills I got some chicken tenders and my friend got fries. Everything was so salty it was so difficult to enjoy and my mouth literally started burning. A lot of hype around this place so we wanted to wait until the hype died down. The place was bright and clean. The people working there was very kind and friendly. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich combo. Let me tell you something, these fries were special. They were twice fried french fries and are cooked again when you order. So there is a lovely crispy with soft pillowy contrast. i would come back and order fries every time! the chicken sandwich was a little of a let down since it suppose to be the star of the show. It had a nice kick of spices but i didn't find a lot of other flavors. the chicken was fried nicely with not too much batter but it just lack flavor beside the sauce. We had just finished lunch when we realized there was a hot chicken place immediately next-door. We decided on a whim to run over to Bossy Beulah's and pick up something to bring home for dinner later that night. The restaurant is larger than it appears with plenty of seating at tables and the counter. It's spotlessly clean with two all-gender bathrooms. Every worker we encountered was cheerful, super polite, and willing to help. I only waited in line for less than a minute before it was my turn to order. I ordered two Hot Thigh sandwiches to go and then I saw on the order board that they had soft serve ice cream. I just love a good soft serve cone, so I ordered two as well. My husband and I sat down at a table briefly to eat our ice cream cones and wait for our sandwiches to be ready. The ice cream cones looked like they were vanilla, but were actually sugar cookie flavored. That was a fun surprise and quite enjoyable. Soon our sandwiches were ready, wrapped nicely and packed in a bag for us. I was very surprised at how heavy the bag was. We had a long drive home and popped them into the fridge. At dinner time, we unwrapped them and just barely reheated them in the microwave. All I can say is, if they were this good after all that time and being reheated, fresh off the griddle would've blown our minds. I'm not kidding, those were the best hot chicken sandwiches that we've had in a long time. The bun was super soft, they were very generous with the hot sauce and the Duke's mayo, and the not-quite-spicy pickles were very nice touch. The chicken thighs, two(!) to a sandwich, are fried perfectly with a flavorful thin batter, not too thick, and the thigh meat literally melted in your mouth. Wow! This was my first time here and I didn't expect to pay almost $30 for a chicken sandwich, fries, and drink. Everything is a la carte. Insane. Bright , spacey, and clean building but this more along the lines of what Mike's Vegan is charging in Greensboro for a vegan chicken sandwich and side. I've been here twice in one week and it was amazing both times! It's a very simple menu, but the fried chicken tenders, sandwiches, and bites are all delicious. If you like fresh cut fries, these are amazing too and one order is enough for 2 people unlike the 6 waffle fries Chick-fil-a will now give you in a regular order of fries. Roomie, yet still has that unique Bossy feel. The service we received at the cash register to order was difficult to say the least. We had a low talker and she got our order wrong in so many ways. I have wanted to try this place since it opened a few months ago. Today, I decided to pick up a couple of chicken sandwiches before we headed out of town for Christmas. I sampled the fries on the way home. The fries are delicious! My husband and I each ordered The Beaut - Fantastic! The sandwiches are HUGE and very juicy! We ordered combos but the side of fries would have been enough for us to split. We also ordered the six piece nuggets. The nuggets were good but not as juicy and tender as the sandwich (which was okay because we were there for sandwiches). Service was a little slow, but worth it because the sandwich makes up for all that. Inside was clean and modern with plenty of seating. I will admit the prices are a little pricier than Chic Fil-A, but worth the splurge. I love their Bossy Sauce and honey mustard sauce. read more

Delish! My only complaint is the door near the back entrance on the left side seems to always have flies. I've never seen anyone try and remove them. The menu is brief, but they focus on what they're good at. Was busy but still fast, and a great upgrade over the fast food chicken sandwich. Pickles were fresh and chilled and the hot sauce just spicy enough to keep it interesting. Even my "that's so mid" teenager was impressed and didn't call it "overrated."
