We were able to sit wherever we wanted so I sat with a view of the screen with the replay of the Brazil FIFA game on. My husband wanted the unagi don but didn't order because the price seemed high. The table next to us all ordered bowls and the serving size was huge so my husband regretted it. We order takoyaki, spicy wings, and 3 rolls Godzilla, Hadouken, and Master Roshi. The wings had amazing flavor but were not spicy. Takoyaki was flavorful and the perfect temperature. I get a lot of takoyaki that is entirely too hot and have to crack them open to cool before eating them. My husband did not enjoy the Godzilla roll he said the topping was too much and didn't add to the flavor. But enjoyed the other two. I enjoyed all three rolls the flavor was fresh and very little need for soy sauce fine without it. If we are ever in Charlotte with time to eat I would stop here again.

The cucumber salad was nicely, chilled on refreshing the takoyaki delicious the temper was good, had a cocktail it was fine, except very small considering what it cost. . The servers were efficient, friendly, and conscientious. The only thing was the restroom. There were a couple of signs in there that I did not consider appropriate for restaurant of the caliber in any case bye . We'll have to try again another time to see if that makes the reaction not bad but not great either.

The dumplings are a mix of chicken and pork. They tasted okay. I prefer pan fried, while there were more so steamed. Hibachi steak with mushrooms: comes with sweet carrots, fried rice, and a 4oz container of white sauce. The carrots were indeed sweet (naturally) but quite mushy. I found the rice and the steak to both lack seasoning. The sauce was a MUST. I wish I was asked how I like my steak cooked cuz these were bordering well done. When I confirmed this was the happy hour portion, the server said yes--but didn't explain the serving size or suggest additional items. A little coaching would have gone a long way. The person on the phone took my order, told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, and that was it--no mention of them closing soon. On my way there, traffic was crazy, and I got a call around 2:09 PM from the restaurant asking about my ETA. I was a little confused because I had no idea restaurants rush customers to pick up their food. Turns out, they were closing at 2:00 PM and reopening at 4:30 PM, which I was never told when I placed my order. Had I known that, I wouldn't have ordered at all because I wasn't about to rush there in the middle of heavy traffic. To make things worse, they kept blowing up my phone even after I explained I was stuck in traffic. Finally, a different person (maybe a manager) got on the phone and actually told me they were closed, which was the first time I was properly informed. By that point, I was already frustrated, so I just told them to keep the food because I wasn't going to make it in time. Overall, the lack of communication was the biggest issue here. If they had just told me when I placed the order that they were closing soon, I would have saved myself the trouble. The constant calls rushing me didn't help either. I can't say I'll be in a hurry to return after this experience.
