I eat the apple walnut salad often. This is the first time it wasn't great. The airport site is amazing. As are the staff. This one, this time.... Mediocre. I had big nubs of the base of romane lettuce in the salad mix instead of it being the field greens (which is much better).. because this is the majority of what was in this salad, I didn't enjoy as much. I was also shorted some walnuts and no dressing was put in the bag... usually it's amazing. This time mediocre is the best I can say. Please do better. I want to, want to come back!! read more

Got the Mediterranean on wheat and tried the chicken with bacon. First one was creamy and with lots of flavor, especially with the free add-ons of garlic aioli and italian seasoning. The second one was a dryer one, so had to add the free spicy ranch they have, which has good kick be aware! Cookie forgot the name but it was sugary and very sweet, tasty! This Potbelly Sandwich Shop is located in uptown Charlotte with some metered parking available right out front. I made an online order to pick up two sandwiches for both my husband and picked this location (we had two locations closest to us by our AirBnB rental). I came in on a Friday afternoon, around 3:30 pm. I was acknowledged right away when I walked in by 2 employees. I was asked if I could be helped, I said that I have 2 online orders to pick up. I was told that my husband's order was ready. But since I was not given my other order, I just assumed that my own order was not ready. After waiting another 10 minutes, the manager asked me rudely why was I waiting around and I told her that I was waiting for my other sandwich. She picked it up from the pick up area (which is behind the counter) and said "here" and then dropped the bag on the counter for me to pick up. It is very possible that the first employee who helped me did not hear the name for the second sandwich, even though I said I was here to pick up two sandwiches. But I think it was rather rude of how the manager treated me and approached me. I saw her yelling at another employee who was restocking the napkins, asking her what was she doing and why. But anyways, this is what we ordered: Original Turkey Sandwich, $9.49 prior to tax ($10.27 after)- When I ordered this sandwich and had requested to have less of the spread on the sandwich, but it still had a lot. It was also quite a messy sandwich with all the mayonnaise. But it was delicious and the meat was quite a lot. Original Chicken Salad, $9.49 prior to tax ($10.27 after)- This sandwich was also a messy sandwich. Although a very tasty sandwich, I felt like it was a bit rich for me and could eat half of the sandwich at one sitting. My husband didn't like this sandwich as much either and agreed that it was may a little too much in flavor for him too. I don't think I would order this sandwich again. -------------------------------------- (Total= $20.64 after tax) I like that these sandwiches are quite hefty and you can get full even off of half of a sandwich or feel at least satisfied after only eating half. If I lived in this area, I would avoid this location and visit the one in Piedmont Town Center because I had very friendly service when I had visited that location the next day. read more

Walking around, killing time in Charlotte and we came across this sandwich shop. My wife wasn't very hungry but that never stopped me from eating before! The place was clean and well-lit. The gentleman at the counter was polite and friendly. We opted for the combo of a smalls in and cup of soup. I got The Beast. Ham, Turkey and beef. Broccoli cheddar was the soup. The sub was heated and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and Mayo. We also got a lemon cheesecake cookie. The sun was....a decent sub. Nothing memorable. Ingredients were fresh and it tasted good. But nothing to make it stand out from subway. My wife ate the soup and said it was good. The cookie was really good. Strong lemon flavor. All in all it was a decent meal. It was good. Not great. Yo potbelly I got a bone to pick with you. There used to be a BEAUTIFUL milkshake store RIGHT where you stand. I loved it, you took it from me. Out of spite I got a Skinny Chicken Club meal, and I now understand the fault in our stars, as well as the fault in my ways. That beautiful chicken just melted in my mouth like some butter, and it tasted as though as I was back home in Europa. I LITERARLLY, have never been more satisfied. I was a little confused about the system but it all worked itself out once I ordered. I selected my sandwich and the type of bread I wanted at the beginning of the line. They place the bread and meats on belt that takes it through aa toasting oven. Toppings are selected at the second stop in line. Then the last part is the checkout register. The restaurant is cool. We chose it because it was close to the Panthers stadium. It is a neat old downtown building. The decor is nice. The seating is limited. It appeared clean inside. Our food was good. I stopped in here while staying nearby for work. I like the chain generally and gave this one a shot. I arrived right at opening time and got a Mediterranean regular size No chicken, add lettuce, tomato, hot peppers artichokes and mustard. My standard Potbelly's order. The two employees were kind, having a good relaxed time together at work and I benefited from the great service. I was the only one there at opening time and I was in and out quickly. I ate my sandwich later and it was tasty as usual. The hot peppers always deliver the extra bit of heat that pulls the sandwich together for me. The interior was clean, service great. I've been to this potbelly Sandwich shop location many times in the past. It is a good location right in uptown, which provides a lot of foot traffic for the location. It is directly on S. Tryon St. Although there is not a parking lot dedicated for this location, there are plenty is plenty of street parking available in the area being enough town. The staff has always been very helpful and accommodating when you arrive and in taking your order. It is a great location with a good staff and good food. They have a variety of sandwich options and salads. The milkshakes and cookies are also amazing! Definitely try them out either at this or another location! read more

I'd never even heard of the Potbelly Sandwich shop until yesterday. We were uptown for the Curiosities and Oddities Expo yesterday and stopped in for lunch before. The inside is cute, decorated with potbelly stoves and potbelly stove lore on the walls. Quaint and fun to look at while you're in line. You order your sandwich and then move on down the line where they'll add your toppings for you. Then, you pay and sit down to eat. You'll also get your own drinks and silverware. They have quite a few tables to sit down at for what looks like a smallish space on the outside. We really enjoyed our sandwiches. I got a pizza sub, loaded with yummy but gooey toppings. The crushed meatball was really surprisingly good! I loved the pizza sauce, too. Not too tangy or hearty. The broccoli cheese soup was super thick, if you like that. I only had a couple of bites of that, as it was too thick for my liking. My niece had mac and cheese and loved it. I'd definitely go back again, but would skip the soup and just have chips. read more

I came across this shop in the downtown area. Decided to try one of the sandwiches. I ended up getting the Mediterranean. (All-natural grilled chicken, feta, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, cucumbers, and our signature hot pepper hummus). I was expecting more but it wasn't a bad sandwich. It was okay no more no less. I can't complain about the size of the sandwich because I did end up eating it for supper and then the other half the following day for lunch. First time here, was really good! It kind of reminded me of a Quiznos subs but better. I had the "whack" without ham and the person helping added pepperoni for me instead of the ham which was nice. I got the combo the salt and vin chips with a drink. All really good! Perfect portion for me and within walking distance of our hotel. We sat at a round table but it was under 2 vents and was FREEZING, but otherwise great experience. Would recommend! read more

After having this location bookmarked for a while I finally made it today. I arrived shortly before 12:00 on a weekday and the line wasn't too long. Service was fine, nothing great. As for my soup and sandwich it was good, nothing special. I ordered the Turkey and Bacon, with a cup of Broccoli & Cheese Soup. The sandwich was pretty skimpy on the Turkey and had so much mayo I couldn't really taste anything else. I will say the bacon was cooked perfectly! As for the soup, a little thicker than I liked but good. Overall, it's a good sandwich shop but lines can be long during lunch, and I would say don't expect anything to different than some of the other places out there. read more

Being that the company I work for is based out of Chicago, I've had Potbellys once in a blue moon while working out of the mothership. It's funny when folks from our Chicago office visit due to our location in Charlotte has a lot of the same chain restaurants that surround our Chicago office. Either way, I was sad to see my Salsaritas spot go, but having the location in the Overstreet Mall didn't really make sense (two Salsaritas in a two block radius!). I like what they did with the dining area.... they really took some time out to think about the local art and even have a custom skyline bench that borders one of the walls. I came on an off peak lunch hour, cause their lunch line is ridiculous (well any place Uptown has a mad lunch rush). So I think the employees were "recovering" from the previous lunch rush. Trash was still on the tables, but I did see someone cleaning up while I was dining in. Sailed through the line pretty quickly so no complaints and my Mediterranean sandwich was pretty darn good... should have added the chicken. read more
