Manager short changed our order by $20 and denied it. Won't patronize this kind of dishonesty.

The presentation is as good…read moreas it can be for this type of food and they did a nice job with keeping the menu basic and simple. The taste of the Polish dog was good. the bun was soft. It was portioned correctly. It just was very bland compared to what else you can get in Grand Rapids. The chili cheese fries also were not horrible but I wanna say they were great. It is just gas station cheese and chili from a can. Again, not horrible just nothing special. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend this place but I also want to steer someone away either especially if you are drunk and at the bar across the street. I'm sure it tastes much better. That being said, I think it's a perfect restaurant for its location. There is not a ton of competition directly next-door or across the street. And technically, the Bar across the street has food of a similar quality however it is a nice alternative It's up to you. There's much better places in town for hotdog however, I would give the spot another shot to try the Italian beef. I have heard it is not excellent, but I have not had it Personally.

My cousin and I sat at the bar, and you can get full service at the bar. She ordered a hot dog and I had a pizza. The hot dog came with that weird neon relish, in typical Chicago fashion, and was on a poppyseed bun. The fries are crinkle cut, and I don't know what seasoning they use, but it was so good! A little sweetness mixed in with the spices. The pizza was good; thin crust and cut square style like they do in Chicago, which I forgot about and kind of hate. I should've asked for silverware, but didn't. Next time I'd ask for it pie cut instead. The flavor was really good though. It was a bit pricey for what it was - it was a 12" pizza, and each topping an additional $3. $21 just seems high to me for a thin crust pepperoni mushroom pizza. I had draft beer and my cousin had a mixed drink. She had no complaints about hers, and mine was quite good! So many places draft beer tastes a little soapy, whether it's the way the clean their lines or how they wash their glasses, but I didn't taste any of that here. There aren't many choices on draft but was a good variety. They also have a full bar and lots of canned beverage choices. They don't have the healthiest menu, but that's not surprising since they're known for Chicago hot dogs, Italian beef, and pizza. If you know what you're going for it's perfect! The vibe is good. The space is pretty open, gets a decent amount of light, is clean, and there is parking! The restrooms are tiny, but clean, and I appreciate that after you wash your hands the door opens out so you don't have to touch a handle. We went on a Monday after work, which does turn into karaoke night, but we had time for a couple drinks and food before that really got going. It also wasn't crazy in there and we could still carry on a conversation at the bar without having to yell. I'm glad I finally made it in, and fully appreciate having them in the North Monroe area. I will definitely plan to have more happy hours here!

The menu is concise and they do these classics well. They also have a daily milkshake and weekly food features. I still need to visit for their Sunday brunch! I've now been to the GR location many times and really appreciate how dialed in they've gotten over the years. You can order at the counter to go or get table service. The space is large and bright and good for groups. On my most recent visit, I was trying to decide between a burger and a chicken sandwich, and realized I'd never had the BBQ chicken club, which is listed as a grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. Our server told me that people like it if they are looking for something without fried chicken... but I really wanted fried chicken. So I asked if I could do that with fried chicken instead and she said absolutely! Their menu is super customizable, which is great to know. Our food came out quickly and I was impressed with the presentation of the sandwich. I like that they wrap it in paper which makes it easier to eat. It was a little messy towards the end with the BBQ sauce and mayo, but it was delicious and totally worth it. The veggies were fresh, the chicken was juicy, and the bacon was crispy... I'm thinking this might be my new go-to! Their burgers and other chicken sandwiches are also delicious. They have a full bar and fun cocktails, and happy hour Tuesday-Friday! Parking in the area is always a bit of a challenge, especially with continued construction nearby, but there are metered spots and some paid lots within walking distance.

Highly recommend the salt n red wine vinegar fries and trying out their various dipping sauce. We have tested all of their house made sodas and the golden cola is our favorite. The line can get long so if you have flexibility I would recommend trying to go at a less popular time if the wait is important to you. Friendly, down to earth service. Cute spot in a smaller space so you will likely end up eating to go.

My go-to order is a double le college dropout with just salted fries and a side of either the special sauce or the herb de Provence mayo. I also often get whatever burger is on special that week, but sometimes they have too many spicy elements and I can't hang when it comes to spicy. I've also had all of the other seasoned fries and they were delicious, but nothing can compare to the plain just salted for me. They have fun craft sodas as well and I usually try new citrus based ones when they have them. Oh and the popsicles!! Also so top notch and really add the cherry on top for an otherwise stellar meal. They are good quality and can survive the ride home in the car. The staff will keep them in the freezer if you aren't eating it them right away and give them to you when your meal is finished. I haven't had many of their chicken sandwiches because I am just so obsessed with their burgers, but I've never heard anything but good things. Pro-tips: - plan to take it to go. You can technically eat at some of the 4 small tables they have inside but I wouldn't recommend it per say. Often people use the tables to wait for their food. There are usually markers and cut things on some of the tables, but overall it's a tight space and I usually only try to stay inside (even when waiting for my food) is when there has been really cold temps or heavy rain. - go before 5p if you can and you will likely miss the long line. I usually only wait about 20 minutes when I go because I avoid super peak dinner times. - skip a single. The burgers are smashed and thin and crispy on the edges. Singles are rookies mistake imo. - always get a side of sauce. They are all delicious and worth the additional cost. - if you are stuck between 2 burgers, get them both and split with someone! - In my experience the burgers also keep well in the fridge so cover it back up in the wrapping and enjoy the rest the next day! - 1 regular fry is likely enough to share between 2-3 people, especially if you also have burgers or chicken sandwiches! - TAKE A RISK ON THE SPECIAL! There are been some weekly burger specials that I've thought were really odd or unique or maybe something I've never heard of, but it's ALWAYS been worth it when I've taken the jump. The folks at Black Napkin doing what the heck they are doing over there!!! The staff are always kind and often recognize a familiar face when you've gone enough times haha. Good people making good food! It has been my number one recommendation in GR since they opened.

This use to be my favorite fast food place in the area. The price was right and service was good,…read morebut the last few months that all changed. The last time I went inside I waited for over ten minutes at the counter without anyone taking my order (there was someone in front of me who had been waiting longer), and their was a young kid working the register. Unfortunately, he was also responsible for the online orders, which seemed to never stop, and being young didn't seem to have the experience to handle both. The really frustrating part was there were a lot of employees standing around, and even the manager announced he was going to lunch and walked right by the front counter with its line of 7-8 people (all of whom were complaining loudly). Eventually virtually all of use just left. My last straw though was today. I was rewarding my sons with drive thru breakfast, and their 2-for-$3 deal always makes them happy. The sandwiches were great; fresh and came out quickly. What ruined it was I ordered a large Mellow Yellow Zero for myself. I didn't notice but when the manager handed it to me it was filled with ice all the way to the top. I was able to get about 4 not too large drinks out of it before it was empty, which is insane for $3+ drink. I know the margins on soda, and they are a huge money maker for restaurants. That's why it always makes me mad when they choose soda to cheap out on. This use to be my family's go to place for fast food. Like I said the food, price, and service use to excellent. Sadly, that is no longer the case.
