if you are applying for a job with them don't! they are very unprofessional. I had an interview at 10am opening time. I couldn't make it to the interview because of issues at home, & i tried calling before my interview & after my interview to get it rescheduled. im just now able to get a hold of someone on the phone this morning. mind you interview was supposed to be last tuesday. I tell the hiring manager who there early in the morning I set my interview up with her last Monday. She calms she has been there the whole time since my interview was scheduled & she Would have know if I called because the managers have to answer the phone. (Which they dont). she proceeds to tell me that in order to reschedule an interview I'd have to call a hour or even a half Hour before the interview to reschedule it, & then turns around and says that they didn't answer the phone because they don't answer the phon before opening.. so how was I supposed to reschedule in the FIRST PLACE?!? Her tone was snappy & nasty the whole conversation. She said That there are different hiring managers there & that they all different & then when I asked if I could talk to another one she said no because their all the same...? This location closes at 10pm, that is posted online and on their doors. I went at 9:45 pm, clearly seeing staff inside and checking the hours to be sure. I pulled up to the drive through and waited 5 minutes. No staff members acknowledged me. I pulled around the building and confirmed the hours and pulled back to the drive through. I again waited 5 minutes and could hear staff through the speakers but my order was not taken and I was not acknowledged. I would understand if it was much closer to 10pm, but 10-15 minutes before close is no reason to blatantly ignore customers. read more

This is a vacant building at this point. Service was bad before COVID, shut down during COVID, and the lights still haven't come back on 3 months after all resteraunt restrictions were lifted. Why?? Owner- Put a "CLOSED" sign on the building so I don't keep wasting my time trying to go through a drive-thru window that's "blocked" with 1 orange cone! At the very least you could put a sign on your drive thru menu instead of giving your "missed business opportunities" an even worse experience when they have to scream into an empty speaker for 5 minutes to know you're closed. Something is fundamentally wrong with the way that you are running this "business".. Unless your intentionally driving it into the ground? Terrible service and quality prior to covid as well but they are very conveniently located down the street from me on my way to and from work. Took until now for me to learn my lesson. I would've been a good paying and very easy customer forever you idiots. I went here yesterday and got a Frisco Melt and fries. Let me tell you the fries wasn't even hot it was like it was made yesterday and given to me. The frisco melt the same way like someone order it 10 hours ago and didn't want it and they gave it to me. It was the worst frisco melt i ever had in my life. Taste was terrible. Meals for under $4??? Really??? Huge selection on the menu and great prices. My personal favorite is the Frisco Melt---yummy! Service is friendly, and I love that the restaurant is open 24 hours. We walked in and the please wait to be waited sign was up. We had to literally make eye contact and stare at the staff to be seated. The people ahead of us got the feeling they should choose another eatery and left. Our waitress asked if we wanted drinks, we said water, and then we also ordered food. Again we literally had to cross our arms put our bodies facing them and make eye contact to get our waters 10 minutes after ordering. (And it wasn't even our waitress who got that for us.) My food was okay but my husbands was not on point. He ordered a Supreme Chili Mac but seemed like a Pinterest fail because it looked nothing like the photo and was so tiny. Also paid for extra chili and that never made it onto the plate. Luckily the coupon fairy left SNS coupons behind our mustard (we didn't have ketchup at our table) and we saved 1.00 off my meal. When checking out the kitchen looked FILTHY. Buns everywhere, stuff scattered on the ground. behind the drink station looked the same, just a mess. They let tables sit needing busing until they're needed, which looks like a mess just sitting there making them look unorganized. read more

They didn't even add half our order and had to re-add it. We asked for a receipt and she never gave it to us. Very poor service overall. Hit or miss. I usually come here for decent cheap eats and that's what I usually get. This location gets pretty busy and they don't seem to be able to keep up with the demand by any means. Specifically here the staff is usually slow and the drive through is the same if not worse (which is typical of steak and shake locations).. But, most of their food is a step up from say Burger King or McDonalds and a bit cheaper as well (which is a whole other rant). Steak and shake is in the middle of a full restaurant and fast food so I wouldn't expect anything to stellar.. it isn't the worst of the worst though. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. My husband ordered a double bacon and cheese steak burger combo with cheese fries and an iced tea. They didn't have the iced tea so I substituted for a Coke Zero and never got the cheese fries. They gave my husband Diet Coke instead. I ordered the chili 5-way without onion, was never told they didn't have chili so they gave me a cheese cup instead. The service was good. Our food came out in a timely manner. The server made good conversation but did not talk to us too much. Sometimes you have to be careful where you sit because conversations can be over heard. I had a Frisco Melt w/no tomatoe, but added lettuce. This is a normal order for me. I was a little surprised that the lettuce was put on the sandwich for me. By time I got to the other half of my sandwich I had to ask for a new piece of lettuce. Normally when I order this, they put on the side and I go to add when I am about to eat. I also forgot my coupon and she was willing to help me look up a replacement of the one I explained I had. Was in last night at 2:30am. A huge group of us, most of us pretty drunk and our service was great. There were two other big group in at the same time and the server got our drinks in a timely manner and was even able to keep our waters filled the whole time we we're there. The food at Steak n' Shake is what I would call the next step up from fast food. Good burgers, all be it a little on the greasy side (perfect after a night of drinking), but tasty none the less. Hard to beat the shakes, and during happy hour they are a very good price. Wasn't my first time eating there and doubt it will be my last. read more

When I worked here, I didn't like this place too much. You can't really blame someone for disliking SnS after they've emptied the frier fat juice into the grease dumpters outside and cleaned every dish in the restuarant. But now, I look back on this place with fond memories. I met many friends through here and went to lots of fun parties hosted by the help from here. Can definitely say I'm a different person because of it. As far as the food goes, if anyone I used to work with is still there, the food is quality. They are very strict on cleanliness, food prep, food cooking, etc. After working at a gross fast food place before this, SnS made me regain a little faith in fast food. This place is SO disgusting.the entrance door was all sticky and as soon as I got in here I had to go wash my hands . While walking to the bathroom I seen there was actual trash all over the floor. The bathroom was so disgusting. Trash was over flowing and there was a fork in the sink. Trash in the stalls and throw toilets were gross. For all the food one gets here, it's very inexpensive, but it's kind of like medium speed food. One is seated by the host and orders from the waiter and one should leave a tip according to the procedure that I've seen. When one wants to pay, one takes the receipt and walks over to the cashier to pay it. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit, the white chocolate shake had been recalled, but they had no issue using a coupon for a different flavor. All of the food we received was unique and tasty. They took all of our coupons with no hassle despite the fact that I was a bit of an obvious tourist. read more
