Still can't understand a normal order. Putting a trainee on the cash register is a bad plan. I thought the food was good today.

Tried a new item for lunch today ... BUFFALO BLUE WRAP…read more Very large and tasty. Filled with fried chicken pieces, crispy chopped lettuce, tomatoes and chunky blue cheese crumbles wrapped in a flour tortilla. Yummy! Drive thru service was quick and server was friendly. A must try!

Knockoff Canes. I've done my research, Zaxbys did in fact come out before Raising Canes, but what…read morecan I say, Raising Canes just does it better. First of all, we were already feeling skeptical because of the high prices for a fast food chain, and then we open our meal with cold, disgusting, hard cheese bites. We understand it's door dash, but a 5 minute ride couldn't destroy what was already broken. Unimaginable. We heated them up in an attempt to get our $7.50 worth but somehow the taste got even more deplorable. Our overpriced teas also were very unfulfilling and bitter. We open our meals with little hope left, but the fries were our saving grace. They were perfectly seasoned and fried with the tangy outstanding original Zaxbys sauce. As far as what they're supposedly famous for, their whole brand, the tenders were average and dry. Thank goodness for Heinz Ketchup or they would've been even worse. The toast was alright, but nothing compared to the glorious Raising Canes Texas toast. Overall I would skip Zaxbys and drive to the nearest Raising Canes. If theirs only a Zaxbys nearby I would strictly recommend the Fries and sauce. Please save yourselves from the utterly underwhelming disappointment that is Zaxbys.

Helen and I took a midweek food adventure over to Hamberger Joe's in Surfside Beach on Wednesday,…read moreApril 29th--and it absolutely lived up to the hype I'd seen on the Myrtle Beach visitor channel. Even though we live in Conway, we're always up for the drive when something promises that classic, no-frills, comfort food experience. From the outside, the place has that slightly worn, local-legend vibe--and if you know, you know: that's usually where the best food hides. Sure enough, the menu didn't disappoint. Helen lit up when she spotted a bologna burger (a rare find!), pairing it with onion rings, while I went straight for their famous cheeseburger with fries, loaded up with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and sautéed onions. The presentation was charmingly simple--everything served on individual paper plates, giving it that laid-back, beachy feel. No fuss, no frills--just good food and good vibes. Helen was absolutely in heaven with her meal, and while my burger had fantastic flavor, the toppings were a bit underwhelming--light on the veggies and missing those sautéed onions I was looking forward to. Still, the core of the burger was solid enough to keep me interested. We're already planning a follow-up visit to their Myrtle Beach location in a few weeks--round two is coming, and this time I won't forget to snap some photos. If you're chasing that authentic, old-school burger joint experience, this spot is definitely worth the trip.
