The rice ratio was just right, there was a good variety of fish and it was all fresh, the avocado and sauces added nice creaminess, and torching the roll was the cherry on top. Over multiple orders, I've tried a wide range of dishes: Cream Cheese Roll, Japanese Ramen, Korean Ramen, J-Bao, Kani Salad, Bi Bim Bap, Shrimp and Potato, Bulgogi Fried Rice, and Chicken Katsu. Some are stronger than others, but nothing's been disappointing. The Bulgogi Fried Rice is my go-to--it's hearty, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. Great spot for Korean food. Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and the place was pretty empty so grabbing a table was easy. Started off with the Japchae Seaweed Roll to share, which was a great appetizer to begin the meal with. For myself I ordered the Soondubu Chigae which is was also great. Slow Loris is such an amazing spot. The menu is really big with so many amazing options, and everything I've tried has been fresh and tasty. Our waiter was so kind and accommodating, he was often checking on our table and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. We went on a weeknight which wasn't too busy, and were able to be seated immediately. They were playing very fun music, but it was at a nice volume where we were able to chat easily. Came here on a Thursday night on a search for some Korean food -- there's not many Korean restaurants in this part of Brooklyn. Surprisingly, place was quite filled. The place is not that big but big enough to fit about 8-10 tables. Upon arrival, we were warned that their card machine wasn't working so it was all cash or Venmo. Luckily, we had cash. Menu was pretty extensive -- a fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine. We decided on a bibimbap and sushi combo that came with sushi and miso soup, and the K-ramen (which stands for Korean style ramen). Some other table ordered some meat on a sizzling platter and the aroma filled the restaurant. The bibimbap was good and comparable, if not better, than the bibimbap at BCD Tofu House (largely because of the sauce). Sushi was fresh and good. Miso soup was standard. However, my K-ramen was pretty disappointing. Nothing outstanding about it. A bunch of seafood (shrimp, mussels, octopus) in a bowl of ramen. The ramen broth is similar to kimchi jigae, but not as nearly flavorful. I wouldn't order this again. We also ordered a green tea crepe cake slice for dessert. It was such a tiny piece for $8 and obviously tasted nothing like a Lady M cake. The waitress forgot to charge us for the slice of cake on our bill but we were nice enough to let her know and get the bill adjusted. Place seem like a local, small family business. During my weekend here, I found time to get out to Brooklyn for the botanic garden and found Slow Loris nearby. I was deciding whether to order one of the Korean options since I've never tried Korean food, but ended up getting the Hawaiian roll which which was well-portioned and popped with a variety of flavor. My friend got the fried rice with chicken and said he really enjoyed it. I also noticed the staff was very friendly. One of the servers bowed to those leaving in the typical Japanese style, which was cool to see. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. My once favorite place is no more. When I first started ordering from here during the pandemic the food was so fresh and delicious, but what I noticed in my last 2 orders is it's not the same. The spicy tuna had an overwhelming lemon and black pepper flavor that I'm not accustomed to when having sushi. My once favorite beaded crispy rice cake was chewy not crispy. After getting our boosters... we were starving and looked up Yelp, pointed me to this Korean eats. It was busy with take-away but we were the only dine-in customers at the time when they opened. The waiter was great but unfortunately the food fell short. Took myself on a date here for some quick alone time and was really disappointed that I wasted my time away on this meal. I ordered the Hwe Dup Bap Tuna and requested eel be added. He shared there would be an up charge which I was completely fine with. The presentation was great but there was zero flavor and the ingredients were low quality. I've purchased better bowls at WholeFoods. Called to place a huge dinner order for pickup to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday last Sunday. We ordered at 4:57pm and order was ready by 6:04pm. They called to notified us while we were already on route there since they said it would be 1hr wait. The place looked nice but abit hard to see the sign (small sign) outside. It was busy, half full and the sushi chefs fast at work. I would like to try dine in one day. Sushi prices are on the high end- much higher than the typical Japanese sushi restaurants. A typical roll was 3x the price ($9). I was tempted to get the Bibimbap & Sushi Combo but decided aganist it. There are vegan & vegetarian options available but limited veggie dishes by itself. You have to ask for the current offerings as they had removed some items from their current menu. We wanted some tteokbokki but it wasn't offer anymore. We ordered 11 items: *2 Chicken Bibimbap *2 Bulgogi Bibimbap *1 Chicken teriyaki *1 Beef Galbi with rice *1 Bulgogi with rice *1 Donkatsu (pork katsu rice bowl) *1 vegetarian Soondooboo chiage with Kimichi *1 vegetarian Bibimbap *1 Soondooboo chiago with Bulgogi Combo Donkatsu wasn't worth it- perhaps dining in would have tasted better. It had started becoming soggy. Bibimbap was not bad but not overly flavorful. The bulgogi and galbi over rice reminded me of fajita platters because it was served over onion, green peppers and sliced mushroom with rice. There was no option for spice level for the Sundubu-jjigae and it's only one level-- couldn't even ask for it to be more mild for my sister-in-law. Galbi looks nicely grilled but dried. I recently ordered delivery from Slow Loris and was annoyed that I used to work close by and didn't pay attention to this goldmine. I ordered two types of chicken wings, Soy garlic and a honey-based flavor. As I always do, I requested that my wings are cooked extra crispy, and they follow through! In addition, I ordered some kind of shrimp and potato roll that looked like an interesting appetizer. I also had a sushi roll, but cannot remember which one specifically. The wings were perfection, and although soy garlic is one of my favorite flavor profiles, the honey flavored wings was my favorite. The shrimp/potato thing was just OK. Where has this been my whole life? I've been searching and searching for food like this, and I've finally found it. The soy garlic wings, k-bao, and seafood pancake were out of this world! I could not give higher praises. The soy garlic flavor was absolutely amazing. I can't even begin to describe how perfectly balanced the flavors were, nor how wonderfully crispy the breading was. You'll just have to try it for yourself! The k-baos were also so yummy. I haven't had pork belly in a hot sec, and I'd totally forgotten how magical it is when done right. First of all, the baos themselves were so soft and fresh. Smooth, slightly sweet, and easy to tear. The pickled cucumbers and onions were also nice and crunchy with that nice tang to balance out the creamy mayo-based sauce. The pork belly was charred to perfection and had a nice amount of fat. Somehow, the seafood pancake managed to stay crispy and fresh despite having been Door Dashed! It came with a pretty big serving, and there was a generous amount of seafood throughout the pancake. I've tried a bunch of stuff and they are all pretty good. However my favorites are decent the seafood pancake, Korean sashimi bowl, and soon Doo boo chige! Everytime I order it I'm so excited to eat it forget to take a picture. Therefore this review is over due. Pick up is easy and so is delivery. I absolutely recommend it if you are in the area looking for something to go. I am even did a picnic in park with more shareable items. Price is great as well. Their immensely long menu covers such a wide array of dishes (even encompassing Japanese food) that everyone in my largeish group was able to find something to enjoy. Ordering online for pickup was an easy process and my food was ready and handed off to me soon after I got to the restaurant. I couldn't settle on just one entree, so I found myself enjoying the best of both worlds and getting the calamari bokkum udon noodles off the Korean side of the menu, and a specialty sushi roll from the Japanese side of the menu. Between the two, I enjoyed the NY roll more. It came with salmon, tuna, and shrimp tempura and a healthy drizzle of sauce. The roll itself was sizeable enough for me to feel satiated, but I was feeling gluttonous and chased my sushi roll with the calamari bokkum udon noodles. I appreciated the generous portion size but the sauce lacked the umami I would've expected from this dish. The soft wooded and industrial interior finishes combined with iconic stained glass windows depicting a cityscape that continues inside where high ceilings let the sounds of neighborhood get togethers and the radio merge into a warmth that envelops every patron. The service is always amazing and it's not uncommon to find restaurant workers from nearby grabbing lunch here. But the best thing is about it is by far the food! On one visit, I tried the dolsot bibimbap which was rich and flavorful, just what you'd expect. The seafood pancake was crispy, and had a decent amount of seafood and wasn't super doughy like some places. I had a kimchi soondubu/ tofu stew which really filled me up, I appreciated that they chopped up the kimchi and not in big pieces. My friends all enjoyed their meals. They use the thicker noodles in their ramen bowls. My other friend who ordered the stir fried udon with calamari found this to be very flavorful. The Korean sashimi bowl was a unique take on Chirashi. Felt lazy and decided to look up on delivery apps to see what I could order and came across this place. Excited to find out that there are Korean food options nearby and ordered spicy calamari bokum with two rolls. The packaging came very nicely with all the utensils. I loved the portion size of each food and honestly enjoyed them all. Wish there is little more flavor to the spicy calamari bokum, but at least there was no fishy taste to it at all. Will check out more foods here next time I am craving Korean food! read more

Was looking for a place near Prospect Park that served Karaage chicken.. since receiving the Yelp email touting Karaage as the latest trend in chicken. Thus, met up with my nephew who lives near Prospect Park. He mentioned always passing Slow Loris and wanting to try it. Slow Loris has a chill vibe and cool atmosphere. It offers an extensive menu that specializes in sushi( sushi bar), specialty rolls, poke, bibimbap and entrees that include chicken katsu and the classic chicken teriyaki. It also serves numerous noodle dishes with different broths. We decided to try numerous hot appetizers. Here's what we dined on: Karaage chicken: this was it, what Iwas saving my appetite for and.. it.. was... delicious so good we ordered double. First the chicken was moist, crispy, golden and dipping it in the spicy Mayo gave it a nice kick. The portion consisted of two large pieces of chicken and two smaller " chicken tender" pieces. This is a must try appetizer! Fried Calamari: nice portion of rings, not served piping hot like in an Italian eatery; but breaded and diced chives atop of the calamari and served with wasabi sauce on the side Takiyaki: six pieces of octopus with bonito ( fish flakes), my nephew loves it. He calls it great Japanese street food. Scallion pancake: looks like a huge frittata with scallions, onion and peppers with a side of ponzu sauce. Mochi: we tried green tea and vanilla. Each dish had two pieces of mochi with chocolate sauce and poki. The place was full and the service was prompt, courteous and accommodating. Now that my palate has had a taste of Karaage I want to discover more. A good place to start was dining here! Kansamida indeed! read more
