Honestly probably some of the best ribs I've ever had. 9.5/10 brisket "fatty" I don't really like lean, was looking for a fatty cut and didn't disappoint, I was honestly shocked at the size of the cuts, they were thick, fatty cuts, the fat was perfect, melted in your mouth, with tons of flavor. 8-8.5/10 sides Not much to say apart from they were great, I didn't have high standards to begin with on anything but everything exceeded those expectations and standards. The highlight was the potatoes. Solid 9/10 The star was the peach cobbler, Solid 9.5 only thing that could have helped is if some of it had a crust. Service. Phenomenal, straight southern hospitality, this type of service was shocking and amazing. (We are From California) Overall this place deserves more attention.

It took about 10-15 minutes before anyone came by. Our server was friendly, but he didn't write anything down for our party of seven, and we ended up repeating our drink order. That should have been the first sign of how the rest of the night would go. We ordered the platter ($23), and the portion was surprisingly small: two BBQ meatballs, two mac and cheese bites, queso, and a tiny basket of chips. The food runner who dropped off the meals was rude, and the portion sizes overall were shockingly small for the price. The only dishes that felt worth ordering were the penne pasta and the pork chops. The short rib tasted great, but for $30, the portion was extremely underwhelming. When we ordered another round of drinks, mine was forgotten -- again, likely because nothing was written down. I had to let our server know it never arrived. He apologized and came back to say the bartender was busy and working on it. The bartender eventually brought it out personally. What really added to the disappointment was that the server noticed we had gifts and asked what we were celebrating -- but this was after we were already paying and packing up. I had noted on the reservation that we were celebrating Mother's Day, but even without that, it's something you typically acknowledge at the beginning of the meal, not at the very end. And based on other reviews I've read, this seems to be a pattern: instead of genuinely trying to fix issues, they either apologize in a way that feels empty or blame the customer for their experience. So I'm sure they'll have something to say about this review too. Can't wait for the response. Do better. Also, be aware -- because they do NOT mention this -- that parties of six or more are automatically charged a 20% gratuity. With the level of service we received, it felt unfair. If you're going to charge high prices, the service needs to reflect that. It didn't. We won't be returning. And honestly, the 1‑star reviews are accurate. Just prepare yourself. $400 dinner for lack luster experience ‍

I could smell the fire burning when I got out the truck, that's how you know it's gonna be good! And it was. Just had the Texas Grilled Cheese and potato salad for lunch. BOTH were great! Man, that is a Texas sized sandwich too, I'm stuffed. Love the small-town BBQ joint feel in downtown Wylie. Looking forward to trying the Spicy Swine next time, lol! read more
