Pinky's made it so easy to reserve, communicate when we had to make a schedule change, and help my guests feel at ease on the water! They handle the kayak transportation, life jackets, quick paddling instructions, and even provided dry bags and bottle of water! The two people who run this local business are friendly common sense people, who will work with you to make the trip a good one. The price is well worth the trip! This was my second or third time using Pinky's and they were just awesome.

Great communication too. We showed up at Bay Area Park at our designated time (we had decided on 2pm). The boats were waiting and ready on the dock along with paddles and life jackets. We were offered a dry bag, but we brought our own. We were also given two bottles of water for the trip and loaned a map of the Bayou. We accidentally brought home the map. I need to return that to them. Anyway.... With a very easy launch, we were on the water and paddling. The bayou was low that day but there were no issues. Did you know there are bald eagles out there? We saw alligators but they kept their distance and so did we. However, we did stop to watch when two alligators got in a fight! Tails were in the air, big splashes... It was crazy. I've never seen anything like it and we got a front row seat. Absolutely amazing, y'all! I loved seeing all of the different birds. The osprey were so cool. And there were fish jumping out of the water near our boats. Just a surreal experience. Y'all gotta try Pinky's. Prices are reasonable and they're just super nice people. The experience on the bayou was so incredible, we're already planning to get back out there as soon as the weather clears up.

Thrilling, Fast, and Fun for Everyone!…read more I went on the Boardwalk Beast speedboat ride in July, and I can honestly say it was my best speedboat experience so far. From start to finish, the energy and excitement never let up. One thing I really appreciated was that the drivers didn't tone things down just because there were kids on board. Too often, family activities get watered down under the assumption that younger passengers can't handle a bit of speed and thrill -- but here, everyone got the full experience, and it made the ride so much more enjoyable. The boat tore across the water with plenty of twists, turns, and splashes, giving just the right mix of adrenaline and fun. The ride was also a decent length -- not one of those experiences that's over before you can really enjoy it. I left feeling like I got great value for my ticket and a truly memorable adventure. If you're looking for a high-energy, wind-in-your-face thrill that the whole family can enjoy without it being overly "tame," the Boardwalk Beast is absolutely worth it. I would definitely be back for another round!

You will definitely get wet during the fast turns, no matter where you sit. Heading out of the harbor and back in you also have a beautiful view of the coastline and the bay. You buy tickets onsite, at a booth right behind where the boat is anchored. Ride times are posted there, and I think the frequency of ride times depends on how busy it is at the boardwalk, it's not running continuously. I was on the water around 20 minutes. The only thing I would recommend against is buying the rain poncho they offer. Since the ride is so fast, the ponchos of the guests in front of me were just blowing behind them only attached to their necks, and they got as wet as if they hadn't worn anything. I chose to wear a heavier zip up rain jacket which kept me somewhat drier, but my pants were still drenched and water even spilled down from my neck, so be prepared. Best on a hot day but lots of fun even on a cold spring day. Must try at least once.

We went in and got some amazing pictures. Then a rude person who called himself the Executive Assistant of the Director came out and basically accused us of trespassing. He treated us as if we were interlopers and made it clear that no one can come in unless they are part of an institution and we were not welcome there. We would never have come in if we weren't invited. We're an older couple and didn't deserve to be treated so rudely. We've passed the building a lot of times and now will think of this rude individual and look away in the future.

For several months I remained patient and listened to their constant excuses. I heard everything from waiting on a parts to, the mechanic is hunting, the mechanic is racing boats, to this boat is not repairable. It seemed the folks there were more into their hobbies rather than turning a profit. After 8 months I finally got the call it was fixed. I was so excited to pick it up, I did not inspect the work. After getting the boat home, I start looking over the receipt to see what took 8 months to fix. I see I was charged for new fuel line and installation... the fuel line had mildew on it and was not new. I was charged for a new fuel water separator, the old one with grease marks and paint chipping was still on my boat. I immediately called and left a voice mail in outrage after hours. I get a call back from Chris and we get into a cussing fight on the phone. He tells me to meet him in the morning at the shop. When I get there he still refused to admit that he did not do any type of service on this boat. I asked about the fuel water separator and the fuel line and he gave me some BS about he knows the fuel line is new because its grey? He didn't even know what to say about the fuel water separator and blamed it on "mechanics that work for him". It sounded like a load of dog crap to me. He was only able to get the motor to run off an external tank in his bay at the shop. We agreed that I wanted him to make the motor run off the fuel tank in the hull. He never could. I was charged for parts and labor totaling roughly $1100 and still did not have a boat that could run on the water. The boat was an '08 with around 100 hrs. I got him to agree to a partial refund totaling no more than $300. Total cheapskate. I shouldn't of let this place get away that easy. I guess he was worries about the extra $800 going towards his boat racing rather than keeping a customer. I hope this comment affects them much more than the $800 I felt was robbed from me. This place is a scam. You have been warned.
