Umm... this restaurant shares the parking lot with other businesses. I came to Capone at night. I had trouble finding it in dark. Thanks to the security guards who pointed out the restaurant otherwise I was lost. Last night was the NFL championship match. Texas vs Steelers. The restaurant was full of cheers and boos. My friends sat at a table and asked to turndown the speaker from TV because we couldn't hear each other's voice. Unfortunately, they didn't know how. There were TV's above both sides of the fireplace. They were not functioning. I couldn't watch the game but can only hear loud TV. Ugh I ordered Garlic Chicken Pizza. I was crying literally. I think the fresh garlic got into my eyes. And the smoked chicken was so dry. Ugh. I ate mostly the crusts. The oven baked pizza had a tasty crunchy crust. They had half off of pizza Monday night. That was what saved the day.
The food was amazing as always, had the Supreme with a gluten free crust and it held up, even with all the toppings the Supreme has! The service was excellent as usual, no surprises there, and the ambience was very relaxed and didn't compete with our meal. The Bootleg Old Fashioned never disappoints.
Very cool and tucked away Bar! I love the style! Almost feels like youre in a cave hidden away. They serve pizza until a little past Midnight and it is delicious! I made my own pizza here with lamb ,goat cheese , and spinach! 10/10! They also have non alcoholic beer (Peroni) which was very refreshing. Capone's is a great casual spot! My husband and I meet our friends here from time to time, and we always enjoy it. They have nightly specials (check on their website to see what each evening has to offer) for different entrees and drinks. Their pizzas arrive quickly and they are excellent. My favorite is the Capone's pizza with arugula, goat cheese, prosciutto, and pear!
I'm a regular at this establishment and typically visit at least once a week. I usually have the same server, who is consistently attentive, kind, and provides great service, which is why this experience stood out so negatively. On this visit, my usual server was not working and I was served by someone named Zachary. From the start, the service was noticeably poor. I was not greeted or seated and had to seat myself. He initially took my order from memory, then returned a few minutes later to ask for it again and write it down. Throughout the meal, he never checked on my table, not once, until it was time to bring the check. Because the level of service was far below what I normally receive here, I chose not to leave a tip. As I was leaving, Zachary ran after me outside the restaurant and loudly told me I was not allowed back. When I returned inside to ask why, he raised his voice and stated it was because I didn't tip, saying I was disrespectful and that the restaurant didn't need my business. I understand tipping culture, but it does not excuse unprofessional behavior. especially confronting and attempting to embarrass a customer publicly. If the service had matched the standard I'm used to here, this would not have been an issue. After reflecting on this experience and reading other reviews, I've noticed a concerning pattern. Several reviewers describing similar poor service experiences appear to be people of color. I was the only Black woman seated at the time, which makes this situation even more troubling. This experience was disappointing and uncomfortable, especially at a place I've supported regularly. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses both the service quality and how customers are treated.
I had the Zorba the Greek pizza and it was really good. It had a little too much dressing on it. The next time I plan on ordering it with dressing on the side. The crust was crispy and light. This place is very big. They stay open pretty late. We were here eating at about 1 am. And it was still pretty crowded. I eyed some wings at another table and I'm pretty sure I will go back to try them. They looked pretty good. Service was good here. No issues. Everything came as we ordered and very fast.

Me and my friends arrived to Capone without reservations on a Saturday evening and there was no trouble getting seated. As always I am happy to see mocktails on the menu- I ordered the ginger mule non alcoholic and it was a lot more sour than expected. It was still good but I felt like it had a bit too much like juice. Mushroom pasta- the Pasta was decent but a little bland too. Vegetarian pizza- oh my goodness so good!! The vegetarian pizza had the perfect amount of spice, crunch, etc. you can tell they are known for their pizza and not pasta! Oh you have to try to find their restrooms too! It was in the back of the restaurant looked like a bookshelf- I had to ask the waitress to show me where it is. It was a super cool vibe, they had a live musician. Inside was brick and Dim lite. I would definetly be back! I want to bring more people here for their pizza and I want to try some of their other pizzas. Cute date night place!
Ok. First our server Jess was the best and what a warm and welcoming personality!!! Just loved her. The food was good but some things I wasn't a huge fan of was the overly sweet balsamic glaze on the bruschetta. It's overpowered everything. The chicken was super moist and with a great smoke flavor but the zucchini wasn't cooked enough. The pizza was just fine. Nothing out of this world. Cooked nicely. Overall we had good meal and would return
I highly recommend the Capone pizza. It is delicious and hits all the marks; a little tart/creaminess from the goat cheese, sweetness from the pear, salty from the prosciutto and tangy from the arugula. Perfect!
Great Wednesday steak night. The Filet was very tasteful with baked potato and mushrooms all for $25. There are many "steak nights" in Houston but this filet is a full 8 oz's and is terrific. Could be one of the best offerings in Houston.
This restaurant has been around for awhile, but my first time to stop in. Colton(?) our waiter was very helpful, and the owner checks in with customers. The Bonnie and Clyde was delicious! HIGHLY recommend the crab stuffed mushrooms. I don't do tomato based pizzas, so it was nice to see they had other options - the Capone was very good! Took part of the Truffle Mac home - can't wait to eat the leftovers. They also have live music on Fridays and Saturday's. Parking is tight, but ample.
I had high hopes for Capone's Pizza Oven and Bar based on the great reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. My husband and I dined in and were surprised to find the restaurant mostly empty, which made the slow, lukewarm food even more confusing. The mozzarella sticks were crunchy on the outside but lacked the gooey cheese pull because they weren't served hot. The crab-stuffed mushrooms were just okay but also lukewarm and lacking flavor. We ordered a house salad that was supposed to include warm d'Anjou pear and goat cheese, but neither were present. I did enjoy the candied walnuts, though. We also tried the Steakhouse pizza. While it came out hot with a perfectly crispy crust, the steak on it had a strange, unpleasant taste that ruined it for us. The other toppings were fine. My husband especially liked the fresh jalapeños, but the steak was a dealbreaker. Service was also disappointing. Our waitress seemed checked out, forgetful and disengaged. Given that we were the only ones dining in (with just a few people at the bar), there was really no excuse for the food arriving cold or for the inattentive service. My husband is willing to give it another shot, maybe sitting at the bar next time and trying a different pizza. As for me, I'm not so sure.

Food was great as always, the cauliflower crust held up even with all the toppings the Supreme holds! The Parmesan Bites were delicious as was my Bootleg Old Fashioned. As Always excellent service and a laid back ambiance that doesn't overwhelm your experience. Keep up the great work! read more
Capones has been around for years, it's a pizza and bar spot near greenway plaza. Pizzas are a thin crust ingredients and cheese goes to the endives of the crust I love it. Great service, and they are open late! They have weekly 'dine-in' specials of 50% off pizzas Ordered from here for a group lunch and I tried the Capones pizza and it was delicious. A friend introduced me to Capone's, and I'm so glad they did! My friends Laura, Patrick, and I stopped in recently, and from the moment we walked in, I loved the atmosphere. The 1920s speakeasy theme is such a fun touch, and one of the coolest surprises was discovering that the men's and women's restrooms are hidden behind doors disguised as bookshelves. Such a clever detail! We sat at the bar, enjoyed the lively atmosphere, and had a great time. The pizza was absolutely amazing...the crust was perfectly cooked with just the right texture and flavor. Between the unique decor, great food, and fun vibe, this place definitely stands out from your typical pizza spot. I can see why this place has such a loyal following. Great food. Especially for how late they stay open! I always get the calamari and the Capones Pizza, it's amazing! Live music if you're a fan, but there's also seats far enough away for it to not be too loud. read more

Well, I emailed them personally to avoid posting a bad review because I really do love this place. I placed an order to go on Tuesday night, I was super disappointed. I ordered a few things for my family Truffle Mac, lasagna, God Father pizza & mozzarella sticks. The pizza looks like a personal pizza, it was tiny. Also the mozzarella sticks were like mozzarella bites. There were a few whole and a few just cubes. Super disappointed that I didn't get an email back from management. Very unprofessional. read more

If you enjoy a thin crusted bar pizza, then Capone's might be just what you're looking for. With specials every day, they definitely seem to know their audience. We enjoyed several glasses of cheap wine, as well as very affordably priced mozzarella sticks and meatballs to kick things off. However, this style of pizza isn't everyone's favorite, and it really wasn't for me. While the cracker crust can have its merits, the bottom of our pizzas were definitely burnt, and with such thin crust, there wasn't much left unburnt. The taste to me was like a big Celeste pizza-for-one. That said, again, this wouldn't be my go-to style, but the burn was hard to ignore. I liked the laid back vibe and feel of Capone's. I'd be willing to try more of their other food items. But as for the pizza, it's-a not for me. read more

I don't don't know, I just really didnt like what I ordered or how they made my drinks either. I ordered a jalapeno, 3 meat pizza and a mescal mule and they tasted awful. The establishment is a smaller one but that wasn't a big deal, the service was very poor. It's located in an area where there are several restaurants that surround it. They were all packed so perhaps I should have chosen one of those places specifically the Thai place as my dining option. Lol. Always trust your gut. Also, it's in upper Kirby so it's not really centralized. You're driving a bit out of the way just to be disappointed. Parking is free and they do have security that patrols the lot to deter break ins so that good. But wasn't enough to make up for the quality of the food. It gave Nostalgic elementary school cafeteria flavored pizza, the ones that were cut into rectangles and had no real flavor or depth and that were often soggy. The drink tasted like they poured it out of a can and said "oh our bar tender expertly crafted this cocktail". Lmao! Will not be returning but will check out the Thai place because it looked very very busy. read more

My husband and I love this place! We've been coming here for date nights especially on Thursday's since they've got such a great bottle of wine deal. Our favorite thing to order are their meatball sliders and their Capone's pizza. It never fails to hit the spot Note: parking is always tough since there is another restaurant near by but it's worth the hassle! Today was a slow day yet service was slow, this the 4 star. Great service by our waitress Mariana. I ordered a vegetable pizza. It was quite good and had black olives and feta cheese among other things. They had a live band. Check out the bathroom. It's easy to miss. The door is a book shelf. The pizza is not inexpensive as it's $17.95 but I took into account that there's no cover charge for the live music. Parking is shared with other restaurants but not hard to find a space. read more

This place has all the elements of a great place, but struggles just a bit to bring them together. The service is 5 stars, as well as the pizza, and the drinks are top tier as well. We got the spinach dip for an appetizer, and it was rather underwhelming, I don't think I'd order it again. The happy hour deals are not that good, however, it's nice that it is all day Sundays. My buddies and I have made Capone's our Monday hang out for pizza night! We usually sit in the same area and Colton is our server. He now knows our order(s) since we don't vary too much. All of the servers have been nice. Ambiance is kinda low key.The theme is Prohibition speakeasy. They usually play classic rock on the sound system, which is a good thing. . I have also been here when a performer was on stage. There is a full bar here. I can't rate the bar, but one of the guys usually gets a Moscow Mule, so they must he good. The pizzas are a personal size, if you like to eat. The crust is thin and awesome! The toppings are plentiful. They even have a salad pizza which was not as messy as it sounds. I usually get the vegetarian pies and look in amazement at the other pies that my buddies get which are are full of the meat toppings. read more

I don't know who told y'all Capone's was the best pizza in Houston- find them and tell them they lied. Well this is my experience and Franks Downtown crushes them even on a bad day. As I opened the door into the restaurant you can the hostess standing there doing whatever she was doing and not greeting. It took her almost a whole minute to even say hello. AWKWARD. I sat at the bar and the bartender was so dry. Like mam do you not want to be here today? It honestly made me feel so uncomfortable from the walk in to the sit down. Is anyone here to work today? Well anyway I ordered a glass of wine and then a salad that advertised on the menu to include house made croutons. Honey definitely not made in house. Honestly If Gordon Ramsey were to come and do a kitchen nightmare he would say the same thing. The salad was not fresh the dressing was bland and the croutons came out of a bag. Let me add this was 430 on a Thursday evening so busy was not even the case more like empty. Ordered my pizza and again I was hit with disappointment. What am I eating? It had no taste- just pizza bread with sliced sausage and jalapeños. At least the jalapeños gave it a little kick. But that was all. I won't recommend this place to anyone who is looking for hot pizza. Not going back either. read more
When I walked into Capone's for the first time this past Saturday during prime dinner hours only to see only 4 tables were full - I'm not going to lie, I was a little worried. But i was hungry - and the friend I was with assured me it was legit. And I'm so happy to say he was right haha. Our server was super friendly and helpful going through some menu items with me. We ultimately settled on the prosciutto caprese bites as an appetizer and for pizzas the Deek Special and the Neapolitan (with prosciutto added). The food was all quick to come out and everything just tasted absolutely delicious. The caprese bites were literally inhaled within seconds and when the pizza came out all conversation ceased as we all WENT IN on the pizzas. All of the ingredients were fresh and bursting with flavor and I loved the thin flaky crust. The Deek was hands down the table favorite and my tastebuds are still dreaming of its perfect combination of tomato Sauce, smoked chicken, bacon, mozzarella, and ranch dressing drizzled on top. Do yourself some favor the next time you're craving pizza and stop into Capone's. read more
I absolutely love this place! The pizza is the best I have had in Houston, I love the ambiance, and the deals are amazing. Mondays they do 1/2 off pizza, and thursdays they do 1/2 off wine. We went on Thursday, and the whole meal was wonderful for the price! The service has always been wonderful as well. The pizza is delicious. We got the Neapolitan with Italian sausage. It is thin crust, and has the most excellent flavor. I love The Godfather and the Hot New Yorker as well. Their pizzas are so great! Come here!!!!! read more
