Been a fan for nearly a decade, it slaps every single time. The okra is a no skip item, but they NEED to make the Gobi Manchurian an all year item. It is the best in town!

I regretted not having enough time to stay and watch the Bollywood movie! Will the couple get together? We enjoyed really yummy and mindfully prepared food as well as helpful service. I recommend the Kati roll and it's delicious warmed up the next day - large portions. We also had the paneer dish - hoping they add saag to the menu. The space was really charming and I enjoyed looking at the art and environment.

Really enjoyed this fancier version of Indian street food. We came on a Sunday around 7 and the line was to the door. They moved decently fast and the food came out quickly for how many people were there. We got the kati roll with paneer, the pork vindaloo and a vada pav. I liked that they have an area you can load up on chiles and sauces as well. Beware that the chiles pack some heat! But I really enjoyed them because otherwise the dishes don't come with any. The pork vindaloo was great! The flavor of the sauce was so rich, even though there wasn't any cream. Meat was tender and well seasoned. The vada pav is essentially a chickpea patty on a bun with a couple different chutneys. The patty was a little mushy for me but the flavor was wonderful. The kati roll was just ok for me. Good texture on everything but the whole wrap was lukewarm. I feel like they just put the paneer in a precooked wrap. Good flavors again, but just not as enjoyable execution. Overall, would definitely recommend. The space is large and they have both indoor and outdoor seating so it can accommodate all different groups sizes.

Got the south indian chicken curry and a paneer kathi roll with some mango lassi. Tender chicken, creamy saucy roll, smooth lassi. Pros: tasted yummy, love the decor of the place, self-serve chutney station with these amazing chilis that immediately turned my face red from heat and made me chug some lassi. Love that. Cons: long line and a bit of a wait after sitting to get served with our orders, a bit pricey for what it is.

Some of the best food I've had outside India! This was plenty of food to share four ways and very affordable. We also enjoyed the Mango Lassi and the Thumbs Up curry spiced cola!! We also really liked this neighborhood. Ice cream next door for dessert, coffee and brunch nearby for the next morning. You could spend an entire weekend in this part of Portland. The staff got us served quickly and cleared our plates fast too. This was a great restaurant to enjoy a nice hour catch up with friends.

Even though I can't speak to most of the menu, as I headed there with a group when I wasn't hungry, the candied fennel and ginger-lime soda were inspiration enough to return! Several people in the group didn't understand our enthusiasm about the fennel, but those of us with more-adventurous palates loved it. Try it if you enjoy anise and licorice. The spot is also a visual delight, with all sorts of Bollywood memorabilia.

The food was good but the portions were quite small, especially for the price. If you're really hungry maybe try another place or order multiple plates. The food was brought out to us and the seats had individual seats paddings for the wall benches. The bathrooms had menstrual products which is very kind and thoughtful of them.

One of our favorite Indian restaurants in PDX. Eclectic decor. Tasty food prepared with care. Portions are generous. I recommend Bollywood Theater's Thali plates for the full dining experience. Service was fast, friendly and efficient!

It's hard to find great Indian cuisine in Portland and this gem was definitely a find. The interior decor sets a festive mood and boasts generous seating for any size party. You order your food and drinks before choosing your table. There is a great selection of drinks including the classic mango juice. Everything on the menu was delicious and unique. While you won't find the typical curry's, new favorites will easily emerge from the menu. The buns are fire!

This cute restaurant has it worked out in terms of hitting all the right spots for street style modern Indian food. Do try it if you are in the Portland downtown area!

One of my all time faves in Portland!!! First of all it's a vibe. Such a cheery bright pretty place with happy people. Second of all the food is just like omg some of the best Indian food (and I've been to india!) my short visit to India doesn't make me an expert by any means but you can tell that this food has a lot of authentic influences. A fun date night spot or girls night spot!

The Portuguese inspired pork vindaloo was really really good, wasn't absolutely falling apart but when I cut off bits it melted in my mouth, zero chewiness . Great flavors, really garlic heavy... and all the sides paired super well in the thali plate, definitely recommend getting the thali plate. Cool vibe, cool market on the side of the restaurant, fast service! Left very full and happy

Ambience - 4/5 food - 2/5!! I mean what is this place ??! I hail from south India and I have had my share of good North Indian and South Indian cuisines while I was there. The food here is no where close to Indian street food as mentioned by the restaurant!! It's just some costly food with very limited portions that doesn't taste good! It's bland and clearly is missing that amazing street food taste !! The ambience is decent I will give you that, but the food !? I wouldn't even dare to go to this place again in my sane mind !!

Is there really a parking lot?

    Nope. Street parking only.

Is there any gluten free option at this restaurant?

Yea there are some! I don't recall what specifically, but my partner is gluten free and he eats well there. They also have specials sometimes, so that's a thing to consider as well.

Do you do catering? For example, if I wanted enough of your Gobi Manchurian for 20, is that something you could accommodate?

There's…read moredefinitely a part of me that misses pre-pandemic era when lunch buffets were common place and this place is only a few blocks from my office. I got there a little after 11:30. The sign said the buffet started at 11:30 but they weren't ready, so I had to wait a little bit. Not a big deal, especially when a place is trying something new. It gave me an opportunity to check out the space. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, it's a little over the top, with the decor pushing towards opulent but not in an overly stuffy way. The buffet was setup along the bar top, and it was clear they were still figuring it out. Instead of chafing dishes and sternos, they were using electric warming trays and setting out the cookware on top of them. Price wise, it's $20, which feels like the going rate these days (i.e. it's the same as Namaste). That being said, the smaller setup and the individually cooked items meant a way higher quality of food. There was a chicken curry, mushroom magic, a daal, chicken tikka, gulab jamun and a handful of other items including a fusion quesadilla with chicken and pieces of fried paneer. The curry was fine, nothing special. The daal (I think tadka?) was a little thinner than I prefer and a slightly over-seasoned, but was good even with the over seasoning. The mushroom magic was good, but the real spotlight was the chicken tikka. With everything being prepared in smaller batches than the stereotypical buffet, this was the moistest chicken tikka I ever had, and the texture and flavor far exceeded anything I would expect from a buffet. They did bring out fresh naan, but that felt like something they were doing since it was still new/slow, i.e. they had naan on the buffet line too. The only thing I would have liked would have beeen some achar, but I'm sure that puts me in a very small slice of potential customers. Definitely see myself coming back here, and ideally dragging along some of my coworkers. tl;dr; smaller buffet with incredible quality due

The food was all great, but the star of the show was the Aloo Tikki Chaat, the menu description of two potato patties doesn't do it justice. It was a flavor bomb. It comes with mint chutney, tamarind chutney and raita. This dish also comes with a side of chana masala, which is a chickpea stew. The sauces added even more flavor and the chana masala was divine. Although it's an appetizer, it's pretty big. It could be a full meal for one person or you could add a couple of sides and it would work for two. We decided to split the chicken curry and the Daal Mah, another bean stew. The chicken curry was beyond, the chicken was so tender. The Daal was also quite good and both came with rice. We ordered mild and next time I would go up one level on the spiciness, it would add some oomph to the flavor. But we still really enjoyed both dishes.
