My friends and I were visiting Myrtle Beach recently, and we were craving some hot chai accompanied by Indian pakoras. We decided to give Bombay at the beach a try, and oh we certainly loved the food and the service. We ordered the chai, madras coffee along with samosas, some onion pakoras and paneer pakoras. The chai was like a warm hug for our souls, and the hot flavorful pakoras left us all content. Our fav among them was paneer pakora. Besides the food, Mr. Prakash's stellar service made our dining experience memorable. Nothing extraordinary about the ambiance but we loved the food, hence we returned the following evening for more chai and pakoras. So, if you're in Myrtle Beach and craving authentic Indian snacks, look no further. The food here is pretty good, and Mr. Prakash's service adds that extra sparkle. read more

Superior service. Bekah was a delight. He's from Mauritius and super friendly and helpful. We loved him so much that we wanted to take him with us. He gave us wonderful advice about places to see and visit. The restaurant itself is one of the few HALAL establishments in the city. The food was delicious. Super generous portions that I had to take home with me because I couldn't finish. It was clean and prepared to order. I enjoyed being here. It was very homey and welcoming. There are stairs so disabled patrons be warned. Ample parking in a private lot. It appears to be an older home turned restaurant. If isn't fancy but clean and welcoming. read more

Ordered takeout: Very expensive for the portion size. Tandoori chicken was two small thighs with drumsticks for almost $20. The Butter Chicken size is a quart size container and contained mostly sauce. The samosas were small and lacked filling. read more

Moved down south a couple of years ago and finally found an Indian Restaurant that's as authentic as the ones I've been in around the world!! Buffet is only on the weekends in the off-season but the menu is full of tasty options. Mango Lassi was a great pairing for anything spicy. I'll definitely be back!! read more

This is the first restaurant I have been in that serves fresh samosas. Most places would use pre made samosas n just reheat them while serving but this one was a surprise n man they tasted good.. perfectly fried, not over n definitely not those oil dripping ones that I have otherwise usually found. Apart from them lamb Rogan Josh was also amazing. For the first time my husband actually finished it without taking it home. Quantity is just a bit less than most places and price is also on the higher side but the freshness of food and quality just did it for me. Service is a little slow here but I didn't mind that at all after the food turned out that great. Will definitely come here again. read more

It was a buffet. Lunch ends at 2:30, we showed up at 2:00. Most of the food was picked over and cold. There wasn't a dal or a chickpea on the buffet. Mostly various chicken dishes. I really don't like writing a review for a restaurant that I didn't enjoy, but in this case, I couldn't not write one. The service was so abysmal right from the start. The restaurant was not very crowded when I arrived, perhaps ten people on a total of three tables. I waited about ten minutes before I was seated and about another ten before my order was taken. And then the wait really started. It was a total of 50 minutes from the time I put in my order to the time I finally got my food. During that time, the waiter never came by my table to offer an explanation or apology. I had ordered an appetizer and a main course and when the food did finally arrive, it all came together. Maybe it's just me, but I always expect that an appetizer would be served first. The food was just OK - certainly edible, but nothing exceptional and subpar when compared to most of the many Indian restaurants I've eaten in across the country. In addition to the incredibly slow service, they drop the food off at the table in the serving dishes and if you want something like a plate to put it on or a fork or some water, you have to get it yourself. The ambiance is rustic and cluttered, but had the service and food been better, it wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Perhaps they were having a bad night, but I definitely won't be back to find out if that was the exception of the rule. read more

After trying many restaurants at Myrtle Beach during our visit, I can say with full confidence that this is truly the BEST one. Such great hospitality, service, food, and culture. This place proves that hole in the wall restaurants truly are the ones that serve the best food. The ambiance was very homey and my family loved the music as well as hearing more about the roots of the restaurant and its history. Our server Prakash Ji, truly made this experience all the more memorable. He went above and beyond to make sure that the food met our needs and also he is one of the kindest people we encountered on our trip. The food is 10/10. The butter chicken is the best and will literally have you coming back for more. Although this dish is not on the menu I highly recommend the Gobi Manchurian. Whether you have never tried Indian food, or we're brought up in Mumbai, this is a great place to great authentic Indian. Buffet or family style. Even the fussy eaters and reluctant meat-and-potatoes were forced to admit they enjoyed the experience and will be eating more Indian in the future. Make sure you try the Chili Paneer (fresh cheese with a sweet hot sauce). The saag paneer (creamed spinach). Naan ( flat bread) with sweet and savory chutney (think Indian salsa)z Then try the Mutton Rogan Josh (A lot like texas chili) over rice, butter chicken (creamy tomato chilli that is a little sweet) and/or chicken tandori or tika (a dry rub chicken cooked at high temps). And, when the damn COVID is gone, id definitely try the buffet so you can try it all and find out what you like and, honestly, don't like. Truly, I have never refused to eat in a restaurant. Well there is always a first. The place was old, dated and filthy. We were told to seat our selves. Handed dirty ripped menus. We sat down and were told that we should get our own water, plates and utensils. The person who gave us our instructions was very abrasive. After taking a better look at my surroundings, which included a thick layer of dust on the chair rail above our heads, a decision was made. It would be in our best interest to depart before ordering. Worst service ever! We went in, and we were told that it is a buffet day, but half the food items in the buffet were empty. We are vegetarian and there were very few vegetarian options, and they were all left unfilled. We waited for 15 minutes and still the food was not filled. When we questioned about how long the wait will be, they were rude and asked us to just wait, and there is nothing else we can do. We visited Myrtle beach during this weekend for our family get together. We were wondering how to cater Indian food and called This restaurant Bombay on the beach. Owner Aquib was so helpful in ordering for a family of 30 adults.. menu had many choices and was able to taste them on the first at the buffet. Next day, owner dropped us the food on time. Good lunch buffet. A range of options, some with meat and some without. The samosas were delicious and I enjoyed the saag paneer with the naan that was available. Food is not bad but the rating is for the staff. There are literally two people who do everything from taking the order to bringing the food to the table. The couple is not pleasant while taking orders or when you ask how long the food will take. Wait times are crazy, we waited for 1.5 hours to get our food on the table and one guy waited for 2.5 hours for his takeout and when he got frustrated and asked them if he should cancel the order, he was given his take out and asked very rudely to not come back. read more

I love Indian food so I always try to find a good place while I'm out of town. My fellow Yelpers reviews guided me to this gem! Customer service here is really excellent and the food is delicious. I went for a buffet lunch (best way to get to try a little bit of everything). I was greeted immediately and seated. They had about 8-10 main entree options plus naan and desserts. I loved everything I had, so flavorful! The restaurant is very clean and the owner is there overlooking everything. I was able to chat with him for a little while heading out and you can tell he loves his business and customers. I'd definitely stop by again when I come back! read more
