Upon entering, you are greeted the smile. The staff personnel are very friendly. The complimentary poppers taste delicious! The interior decor is amazing!

My SO and I decided to go here for Christmas dinner. We wanted something that wasn't too elaborate, so I turned to my Yelp community to look for ideas. I gave them four stars ... even though they were jam packed inside due to the Christmas holiday, everything was spot on. The servers were hustling to and fro and were very thoughtful in helping me with my dietary needs. The missing fifth star is because I was a little disappointed in the flavors, however. It wasn't bad per se, it just didn't pop like I've had at other places. The samosas were lacking in the kick you typically get. Don't get me wrong, I would go back in a heartbeat because I would like to try something different. Maybe something a little more out of my comfort zone!

We love this place. It's deliciousness had us coming back for more. Plus there is always enough for left overs. The seating is pretty tight so make sure you're comfortable with the close proximity to others. I've never had any issues with the staff or the device. They're delightful and the music they play is cheerful.

Such a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant! I ordered over the phone for a takeout order and it was easy and ready in 20min. The gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower) is absolutely amazing. You completely forget you're eating a vegetable because there's so much flavor!!! Makhanni chicken is their version of butter chicken and you can order it mild, medium or hot essentially. I ordered medium and it was the perfect level of spice and not totally taking over the sweet side of the dish too. The portions are HUGE. I get 3 servings out of it with the rice as well. It comes with 3 sauces as well to use to your desire! The inside of the restaurant is very inviting and bright and would be a lovely date spot. I didn't eat in this time, but definitely will in the future. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a different dinner option!

    Thali lunch special - tasty!

I've wanted to try Spice Palette Indian for some time, and was in their neighborhood so stopped in. You should too! The restaurant has an intimate feel because of the modest size and decor. It's well suited for singles, couples, and groups - there was a group of 8 people when I was there, speaking Urdu and enjoying the cuisine as much as I was. Tables were set well, with silverware, cloth napkins, and tablecloths. I had Thali, their lunch special: two meat dishes, two veggie dishes, salad and dessert. Each was excellent, just what I was hoping for. My chicken tikka masala and chicken tandoori, dahl, and kheer were particularly tasty. My server was friendly and helpful, and made sure that my water glass didn't empty. I has a wonderfully relaxing lunch of authentic Indian dishes, and I'll be back.

The service is top notch here at Spice Palette! Made it for Holi week to try some of their specials and glad we decided to dine in for the festive colors, music and atmosphere! The mural is so vibrant and fun and gets the mood going for what's in store! They have many vegetarian and gluten friendly options here. The Dosai is a fun thing to order to share as a starter... It's a crispy rice & lentil crepe with whatever filling you want in the center, leaving the outer crust for the breaking and taking. If you're sharing with 4, just make sure you share equally by cutting into 4 sections both horizontal and vertical so everyone gets a piece of all the party aspects! We enjoy the Masala Dosai with the spiced potato filling. Chicken Tikka Masala is a go to here for us. They also have lamb, goat, paneer and tandoori. Plus delicious Indian beverages like the mango lassi and cardamom tea. As I'm GF, I haven't tried the Naan but there is a large selection of different types! I have noticed that a vast majority of the dishes are cream-based so if you're lactose intolerant, might opt for a Lactaid or ask if they can make a dish with coconut milk! Allergens & Options (GF. DF, V, VG) are clearly marked. The portions are large so order a few dishes and be ready to share!

There were two bones in my salmon, my fish wasn't spicy, the sauce they gave me to add on also wasn't spicy, and my vegetables were missing. I ultimately had to go find somewhere else to eat! If you like vegetables, non-bony meals, and spice, look elsewhere.

What a lovely little gem in the strip mall! The Spice Palette has wonderful service and authentic meals. The meat sampler was a wonderful introduction to the meal, and a great option for two people to share. The chicken is absolutely delicious. The chicken tiki masala is a favorite if you're new to Indian cuisine. You can also choose your spice level. We loved the medium (but we also like spice for flavor). I would definitely recommend this spot for small groups of four or a table for two. Parking is pretty easy, and there is something on the menu for vegetarian friends.

    Shrimp Malai Kabab

Shrimp Malai Kabab is also a fabulous option- comes in a sizzling pan like a fajita. Butterflied grilled shrimp- super flavorful- with veggies including broccoli. Be sure to squeeze the lemon on your shrimp. We had rice on the table which hit the spot with the shrimp- might be worth ordering. I wonder if they have brown rice?

We celebrated Diwali 2024 at Spice Palace, and what a hidden gem it is! Mount Pleasant is lucky to have such a fantastic restaurant. We started with the Malabar Meat Sampler, which included lamb samosa, chicken, kababs, and naan--each dish was flavorful and a perfect introduction to the meal. For our entrees, we had goat curry and tandoori chicken, both cooked to perfection. The portions are family-style, so even though the food was amazing, we couldn't finish it all. To top it off, we were treated to a complimentary Diwali dessert, which was absolutely delicious! The service is always top-notch, staff was really nice and accomodating. This spot is perfect for a cozy date night or a larger family-style dinner. We also got enough leftover for lunch the next day! :)

Continuing my globe trotting adventures and tonight it was Indian food. We decided Spice Palette. It was close to our hotel and had a broad menu featuring an array of Indian cuisine. And let me tell you, not disappointed. When we arrived, ample parking out front, I said to my wife ... looks like a carry out!! How wrong was I. Upon entering was greeted by the friendly receptionist who offered choice seating. Quickly seated and presented with menus. The choices were outstanding coupled with a very robust stocked bar....to include Blantons and other top shelf burbons coupled with speciality drinks. Not only that substitutions were provided with no issues. It was a quiet weekday evening as such the place was not crowded, yet the ambieance was welcoming and environmentally comfortable. Ohhh, let's discuss the food...Can we say outstanding. Favorable, with the traditional exotic Indian spices and well presented. Definitely, on my bucket list to do again if opportunity presents. Let me cap this off by saying, multiple tables, and two staff working the tables and the bar and I do not believe there was one table nine the house that felt like they were being unattended too!!!! Bravo Zulu!!!

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! It was one of those moments when they told us they were full, but two people left the bar at the same time. We were so lucky! So many people were waiting. Despite being ready when reservations opened, the best we could manage was a lunch reservation. No worries though because lunch at Obstinate Daughter is better than no Obstinate Daughter at all. We were able to find parking in the neighborhood and had a short walk to Middle Street. From the moment we entered the establishment, I understood the hype. Our server, Sara H., was wonderful throughout the entire meal and we kicked things off with cocktails: the Abandon Ship and All Hands on Deck. Both were excellent and set the tone for what turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip - and there were a lot of highlights!!! I also ordered the Tuna Crudo special, which was incredibly fresh and a great way to start my meal. For the table, we shared the Local Lettuce Salad, the Farro with Chicken, and the Moultrie Pizza. Everything was seriously fantastic. The Local Lettuce Salad was simple but executed perfectly with croutons, parmesan, egg, and buttermilk vinaigrette. The Moultrie Pizza, topped with pepperoni, Mepkin Abbey shiitake mushrooms, tomato, mozzarella, and parmesan, disappeared quickly. And the true star of the meal for me was the Farro with Chicken. The combination of Brussels sprouts, peanuts, balsamic, black truffle, and perfectly cooked chicken was absolutely incredible. If I lived nearby, I would order this dish again and again without hesitation. Considering the restaurant's location on Sullivan's Island and its well-earned reputation, I also thought the prices were relatively reasonable. I loved the vibes. It was packed but the service never wavered. This meal was so, so, so, so, so good. In fact, if we could have snagged another reservation during the same trip, I absolutely would have returned. The hype is real. Obstinate Daughter is worth it!

For food, I tried the fried catfish entree and Green apple-cauliflower soup. Both dishes were good. The fish was very tender and juicy. The butter bean succutash, which I never had before, contained butter beans, black eyed peas, corns, green and red peppers and red onions. It was delicious but since beans are of high FODMAP, I only had a little. The fish was topped with tomato jam made with crushed tomatoes, onions and sugar. It was served chilled. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food. The same for doing the check. I guess it was because there were not many staff at lunchtime, and most of them were senior thus could move as fast as young ppl.
