Located in a strip mall in Myrtle Beach is newly opened Ginger Garlic - The Indian Restaurant. Upon doing research, there really isn't much choice when it comes to Indian food in Myrtle Beach, as there's 2 places that have been around for years, but only seem to have mediocre reviews. Google reviews for Ginger Garlic seemed great, so decided to roll the dice with them, and am glad I did. The owner/waiter was super friendly, and explained that they had just opened in August 2024. The interiors are a bit plain looking and the walls could use a bit more decoration, but are otherwise welcoming and clean. A great selection of Indian music was playing in the background to add to the atmosphere. We went with vegetable pakoras, palak paneer, paneer butter masala, & a naan. All the food items were spiced just right, freshly prepared, and were tasty, vastly exceeding my expectations for a Myrtle Beach area Indian restaurant. We also had for dessert rasmalai and gajar halwa, and a masala chai. They also hit the spot (neither of the desserts were too sweet) and were the perfect way to end a delicious meal. Service was attentive and seemed genuinely appreciative of our business and feedback. Even though this restaurant is newer than the more reviewed Indian restaurants in the area that have been around for years, I'm glad I went here as the cook here really knows how to serve up good food, and they're doing all the right things to establish their customer base, setting the bar higher in the Indian food game in the area. I'd definitely recommend Ginger Garlic to others looking for fresh and tasty Indian food in the Myrtle Beach vicinity. read more

What a great spot. First time in Myrtle beach. First time here. Very clean welcomed walking in and seated. Had a good server who stayed on top of everything. Food? The samosas are awesome. The pic I took (late) has a meat samosa on the right and veggie on the left. Perfect. We also had chicken tikka masala. Lamb vindaloo. Rice. Garlic naan. Garlic and cheese naan. The atmosphere is pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. In a mostly empty strip mall so no issues with parking. Menu has good variety and even has more Asian options if traditional Indian doesn't work for everyone in your party. Service was the right amount of attention. Server was new and not able to assist much with recommendations. Food was delicious and decently priced. The naan was a little basic (didn't seem to be fresh made) but still very good. Food is eh. Being Indian I can tell when someone makes an effort, not the ginger garlic restaurant. Food was subpar.

I've been spoiled by numerous Indian restaurants in the DC area... Ginger Garlic beats almost all of them and is on par with only the best ones. We had the mix veg pakora, chicken korma, butter masala chicken (first dish we always try), lamb kadai, garlic naan, and roti. Just aces all around. The korma and masala were the perfect, savory comfort foods, and the kadai bursted with flavor. The naan and roti had that great balance of crispy and chewy :) Will be going back frequently now that I live down here! read more

We just enjoyed a wonderful meal at Ginger Garlic. We are local and were excited to hear Myrtle Beach was getting another Indian restaurant. Our first impression was how wonderfully clean the restaurant was! We started with Papaddum, which came with a tasty, thick tamarind sauce, and mixed vegetable pakoda. The papaddum was thin and crispy and the pakoda was cooked perfectly! We were looking for vegetarian options, and the menu included 11 vegetable curries. I enjoyed the Malai Kofta (mild) and my husband loved the Dal Tadka (medium). The menu also included many chicken, seafood, goat, and lamb options. To round out our meal, and mop up all that yummy, flavorful sauce, we ordered two Peshwari Nan (stuffed with dried fruit and nuts). Portions are large and we ate until we were full and took home enough for another meal. We are looking forward to going again to try more menu choices! read more

I'm going to call this experience tonight just OK. We ordered the following things - Meat Samosas, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Shrimp, Chicken Tikki Masala. Portion sizes were small. The highlight of the meal was the samosas. There were only two - but they were good sized. The sauces with the samosas were great. The Tandoori Shrimp was too small of a portion and certainly not 'Jumbo' shrimp as the menu states. It wasn't that good, and I wouldn't order it again. The Chicken Tikki Masala was exactly how it should be - tasted good. Honestly wasn't overwhelmed by the food and would likely try another Indian place before going back. read more

While I've been dining at restaurants around the country for years, this place was so good I finally decided to join Yelp to post a review. Many of the reviews for this restaurant echo very similar reviews; great service, clean and bright, very good Indian food and a nice atmosphere. It amazes me that this restaurant isn't packed. Maybe your not into Indian heat? Guess what, they can do it without. I love heat and my go to dish is usually a vindaloo hot. My wife on the other hand is not a heat fan and yes they can do that. This was our first time at this restaurant since they opened. We have tried several of the other area Indian restaurants and by far Ginger Garlic in our mind is the best. For our dinner, we had Samosa which were perfectly cooked and the batter was not to thick. Ours were very good along with the mint and tamarind sauces. For our main course we had Chicken tikka masala and Chicken vindaloo, which both are served with basmati rice. The waiter questioned me several times when I asked for hot which is the third of four levels of spice that they offer. It's was perfect for me.. Very good sauce,way better than my homemade. My wife loved her Tikka Masala as it was very very mild and as I mentioned she does not like heat at all. To go along with our meals we also ordered garlic and butter naan, both made in house and very light and airy. Overall glad we found our new favorite local Indian restaurant and can't wait to visit again and try some of our other Indian favorites! read more

I had the tandoori mix grill and tiki masala paneer. The grill was beautifully presented with sumptuous pepper onions. The meat was exquisite. Tiki masala paneer had such a bright full tomato just a perfect sweetness hint to it. Naan was excellent as well.
