I found the flavors to be generally flat upon delivery, to the point where I couldn't tell if the curries were homemade or store-bought. Unlike restaurants where the chicken is simmered directly in the sauce to absorb the flavor, the meat here felt identical across dishes--as if a generic pre-cooked protein was simply tossed into different sauces right before heading out the door. The garlic naan was disappointing at best, featuring garlic that tasted like it came straight out of a jar. Overall, I cannot recommend this spot if you are used to eating Indian food in communities with a rich tradition of authentic cuisine. My family and I eat a lot of Indian food. We've eaten our way through India and been to several great restaurants throughout the world. Naan tastes very authentic! Their naan is great, their lassi is well-made, and their dishes come out fresh. The service for our visit was very good. We sat outside during a slow Saturday afternoon and had visits to our table frequently. Inside looks fancy and like a great date spot. My one complaint is that the price is a bit inflated for the amount of food. So I wouldn't say the value is great, but the quality is a consideration. read more

We wanted soup and an appetizer for dinner, we stopped by Naan Indian Restaurant. We went on Saturday evening, and the restaurant was quite busy. We got seated, but it took about 10 minutes for the server to bring the menu. After looking it over, we waited another 10 minutes before server finally took our order. We ordered the Chicken Man Chow Soup, Street Style Fried Rice, and Nimbu Soda from the menu. First, the Man Chow Soup and Nimbu Soda arrived. The Man Chow Soup was really good, delicious, and tasty. The Nimbu Soda was also great. Both soup and soda were good. Then we had the Street Style Fried Rice, which wasn't quite what we were expecting from fried rice. read more

I was craving Indian food so tried Naan for the first time during lunch on a weekday. Service was very friendly and food came out piping hot. I got a vegetable samosa, dosa, and mango lassi. The mango lassi was sweet and creamy - always a treat! The vegetable samosa was nicely fried, large in size, and packed full of vegetables and potatoes. I enjoyed the sauce it came with. This was my first dosa and it was definitely a show stopper! Huge lentil crepe and sooo crispy, filled with seasoned potatoes, and delicious dipped with the chutneys and curry. I picked up take out from Naan over the weekend. I sat at the bar while waiting for the food to come out. The whole restaurant was quite nice inside and the bar area was cool. The staff were very friendly as well! I got the paneer butter masala - it was very good and creamy. I ordered spicy but it wasn't too hot, if you like spicy I'd suggest to pick something a level higher than you normally do. We've been to Naan multiple times now, and truly enjoy the authentic Indian food. Their menu is large and has many options for all. The restaurant has a nice outside seating area that is very appealing and the inside is pleasant. My favorite appetizers have been the samosa, pakora, and okra fries. Sadly the garlic shrimp disappointed as the shrimp were not crispy (ie: fried) but just sauteed. There are multiple entrees to choose from, and we've enjoyed the street style fried rice, Andara chicken curry and lamb Rogan Josh. Be sure to order a side of naan or roti. The -1 star is due to service, as it's never been engaging and the service lags out on time. But Naan is a great local Indian restaurant and you should check it out. read more

Naan in Mt. P is fantastic. Our server, Nikita (hopefully the spelling is correct!), was amazing and made sure we were comfortable the entire time there--big shout out to her! We had 6 people sharing dishes--from the top of my head I remember: veggie samosas, gobi manchurian, dosa, goat curry, chicken biryani, fish curry, garlic naan, chicken korma, and rogan josh. Pictures attached below in case I got it wrong. All the dishes were delicious. I hadn't eaten goat for years and was super excited to try to the goat curry--it didn't disappoint. Absolute perfection, from decor, to service to food!!! I ordered the Dosa and to my surprise it was a traditional feast for the eyes and the taste buds served with delicious dipping sauces. I had the Masala Dosa stuffed with potatoes, onions, curry leaves and mustard seeds, which was a very mild flavor, if you are just getting you buds interested in trying Indian food. I love Pakora, julienned veggies dipped in a spice batter and fried. Other must try things are Samosa, mash potato and peas, with cumin and ginger wrapped inside a pastry dough. And Okra Fries...sliced and tossed in Indian spices and fried. This real estate spot has had its challenges but I believe Naan will be around for a long time...at least I certainly hope so. Sometimes, you are in the mood for some delicious curry/Indian food and then stumble onto a new spot like NAAN in Mount Pleasant (next to Whole Foods). My wife was telling me she found this new spot, and we just happened to be in Mount Pleasant, so we gave it a shot. What a great addition to this area. We do not eat much in Mt. P because we live on James Island, but we love trying new restaurants. We were delighted with the service, location, and food quality. There was SO much on the menu that I wanted to order, but we kept it simple on this sitting because we weren't super hungry. We tried the vegetable samosas, got the garlic naan, which is a must, and then split the Tikka Masala. Dipping that naan in that Tikka Sauce is the move, TRUST! We washed it all with a Masala Chai tea because it was chilly that day. All in all, there is so much more to explore on this menu. I will be coming back to try more dishes. There were three of us for dinner tonight. We scanned the menu via yelp before we made the reservation. There are so many wonderful options. We love Indian food and Naan did not disappoint. We were seated right away and offered drinks. A nice selection of Indian red and white wines as well as a broad selection of Indian beers. See the pictures. Also a nice rose bubbly. We were seated in a very comfortable and cozy little corner. As we waited for our drinks, we perused the VERY extensive menu. Our server was very helpful in explaining the various options. We got the Tandoori Wings and Mysore Masala Dosa as an appetizer. Both were absolutely amazing, the flavor unique and a bit spicy for the wings and the light, crispy shell stuffed with yummy potato filling really gave us a great start. We ordered three orders of naan (Bullet, Garlic cheese, and Peshawari) to go with our three meals all of which we shared... one Kerala Shrimp, one lamb Korma, and one Lamb Biryani all at the medium spice level. Everything was so good and so many more things to come back for. Check out this menu !! This place is a must try for anyone that loves Indian food or just for those that are curious. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would definitely do it, and I normally never ever would say this! The moment you walk into this restaurant, you are hit with the most amazing smells of spices and food that you are instantly hungry. The location is in a shopping mall which is completely fine and once you walk in, it is more on the fine dining establishment. You don't need to wear a tuxedo or anything just nothing with ripped jeans or ripped holes in your shirt. We sat at the bar because we usually sit there to get our cocktails. A little bit faster and service is always better. The gentleman that was helping us was Luciano, I hope I spelled his name correctly. He was very knowledgeable, very sweet and even made me a cocktail with mango in it that was delicious. We usually always order our two favorites items and we even asked the employees there what they would recommend because we kept going back on the tiki masala or the butter chicken and they told us to have the butter chicken. The butter chicken was so flavorful. The chicken was so moist, and the flavor was being bang pow in your mouth. We also ordered the cheese paneer that comes in the spinach and that was fabulous as well. Don't forget to do a little bit of a southern thing at our Indian restaurant and order the okra. French fries. The portions are very big so come prepared to be hungry and never forget to get the garlic naan. That was one of the best things that we ordered on the menu because you actually got to see the big chunks of garlic and butter sitting on top of it. Both dishes I believe came with a side of rice, but don't take my word for it. Make sure to ask. As my wife and I decided last minute to go out, we decided to venture with this restaurant. The hostess was friendly and immediately walked us to our table. The overall experience was really good. The decorations are clean and slick. The food was really good and they do have many options; from spicy to non spicy; vegetarian and non vegetarian. The service was excellent as our experience with the waiters (Andres) was really good and helpful. He walked us through the menu and delivered a full description of the ingredients and seasoning of all the selections we asked for. In addition, Andres did follow up with his own questions and made suggestions as we were navigating through the menu. Andres was always on point paying attention to details anticipating if we needed anything. We ended up having a vegetable Samosa, Naan sampler basket, garlic chicken curry, Tikka Masala with Lamb. Today was our first visit to Naan next to Whole Foods in Mt. Pleasant. It's a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous bar and ideal covered outdoor patio. Lunch was busy with diners. They offered us a regular dinner menu which I felt was too much for lunch. We asked for a lunch menu and it was ideal. A Thalli set up which came with a selection of different mains, naan, rice & dessert. Perfect amount of food and an ideal way to sample a variety of dishes. They also have a vegetarian thalli. Was really looking forward to our 24th anniversary dinner at Naan, so many other great restaurants in the area but we decided on Indian food. Sadly it was a huge fail. 2 stars for service, outside patio on a beautiful night, cold Indian beer and they comped one of our meals. My wife's chicken dish had a big black hair in it and the flavor was very bland. My lamb was WELL done and not a chance it was cooked that day. It was left over and reheated, very dry and well done. We ordered Naan as an appetizer and while decent flavor it came with no dipping sauce. They also comped mango cheesecake, very sweet and we could only take a few bites.
