They sell a variety of other services including bridal makeup, jewelry and beauty products. Not to mention, henna tattoo designs. It's definitely worth a visit! I was really disappointed with my visit to this shop. I went in specifically looking for henna cones and noticed they had a variety of them displayed right at the front. I asked the staff if there was any difference between the packages, as they were different colors and brands. I was told that it didn't matter--they're all the same--except that most of them are dried out, inactive, and have likely been sitting on the shelves for a long time. I picked the green cone with a red tip (brand: KOKILA) and tried doing a henna tattoo on my hand, as well as fake freckles on my face. No matter how much product I used, how thickly I applied it, or how long I left it on (I tried from one to four hours), it left only a faint brown stain. The color didn't deepen or develop over the next 48 hours as proper henna should. I bought the henna cones for $3 each (total $6), which wasn't a complete waste, but I would have much rather spent that money on genuine henna cones as advertised. Overall, I'm very disappointed with both the products and the service. I will not be coming back, and I cannot recommend their products or services to anyone. read more

Stopped by because I've been passing it up sign says $7 eyebrow threading. It's a beauty store and the lady G attended to me, I explained how I wanted them and she was kind about it and went to work. She wasn't harsh and probably the softest threading experience. When she was done she gave me the mirror and I was stunned! Oh she did trim it as well. She didn't offer aloe Vera or anything, she didn't dust off anything. I paid and left. read more

Decent prices. Some staff is good and others not professional. Also with the eyebrows some of them are still training so they may not be able to do it the way you want. The market has good food and the other services the salon has are really good the eyebrows can just be a hit or miss though read more

There are a lot of services at Bombay; from eyebrow threading to henna to wax to facials to tints. I came here to get my eyebrows threaded. For $5 you reeled me in. They did a decent job and I can't complain. They take card as well, but do charge for a card fee. Bring cash to make it easier for everyone. read more

I've been going here for about 2 years. I've brought in my service dog in the past. I brought him in today and one of the ladies said he couldn't come in. I stated he's a service animal. She asked for documentation which she cannot do. I however still showed her documentation. She had such an attitude, standing there with her hands crossed. Then she refuses to do my eyebrows and said go to the other lady. I said ok and sat in the chair. She's like you need to put him in your lap, meanwhile my dog is just laying on the floor quite. She's said "I'm going to sit here and watch you" as she sat in the waiting chairs. I was absolutely horrified at her behavior. I walked right out. I will never be coming here again! read more

Worst bangs cut ever. I came to get my bangs cut and the lady straight butchered my hair. She had the audacity to tell me that because my hair is curly that's why it looks that way. This lady is the manager and she does not know how to cut hair. I came back the following day trying to be nice and find a solution. Instead she said it's my fault because I asked for short bangs. I have a wedding on the 23. She basically ruined my look. On top of that she doesn't even try to fix the problem instead giving me 8 bucks back and the blame. I will be getting a lawyer. And I will file a small claims in court. Don't come here!!! read more

Went in for a full face thread. Wait time wasn't bad, but she missed my sideburns. Or kinda got them but then stopped. One side has a few hairs in different spots. The other side, has way more hairs that weren't even touched. I didn't bother to tell her, I figured it was a lesson learned. But it should have been noticeable to her as well, I believe. read more

I don't recommend buying any of their beauty products, because sales are final. I purchased some hydrogel eye patches and they were dry and unusable. They refused to exchange them. I threw them in their trash can. Money wasted! I also purchased some nail polish and the brush was torn and I couldn't use the brush. I had to use the brush from another nail polish bottle. The "Sales are final" sign is on the south wall. The item that I purchased was on the opposite wall. I didn't see it until I had them start threading my eyebrows today. I purchased the eye gel product last Sunday. read more

I have been threading my eyebrows for 3 years now and have not gone anywhere else! Madhu usually does my eyebrows and never misses the mark! About a month ago I went in and skeptically let a new person do them and she proceeded to take off the ENTIRE middle section starting them so far apart after months of growing them! Other than that one encounter I haven't had a bad experience (went back to madhu today & all is well). Be weary of the newbies ladies, pay attention to the regular staff! read more

$5 eyebrow threading! Cheaper than my morning coffee. This place has such a great deal I sometimes considered coming here weekly but then I remember I won't have eyebrows. Anyone who knows me understands that I'm a sucker for deals. Sometimes all these deals get me into problems. Sometimes I'll have my hair burnt off or a manicure gone wrong, but who cares! I got a deal! If you are one of those people that doesn't like that kind of idea, hold on and keep reading. :) Now I do understand that sometimes people associate a good price with a "less than quality." I can assure you that this is not the case! Bombay charges low prices and delivers exceptional work! They work hard to make the customers happy and do take their time on your eyebrows. The woman who threaded my eyebrows understood what I wanted. She kept them thick like I asked and gave me more of a shape then what I came in with. I can't expect miracles, after all I did over tweeze them myself. She worked with what I gave her and she did great! Thank you :) read more

I typically come here to get my eyebrows threaded but today I was really unhappy with the results. An older lady threaded my eyebrows and my right eyebrow is now way shorter than my left. I specifically told her to make sure that they were evenly spaced out between the middle of my eyes. She also told me she was finished and she had not even threated my upper left brow. Overall I don't like the way she threaded my eyebrows. If you do decide to come here go with one of the younger girls. I'm not sure if this lady was the owner or if she's just a new employee because I haven't been here in a while. Now I have to try and fix my eyebrow with a brow pencil. I won't be returning here for a while. If I do I will make sure I do not get the same lady. read more

Driving down Reseda Blvd. I noticed a sign that said $5 threading. I thought that was a great deal so I decided to drop in and check the place out. The salon is attached to the little market Bombay Spiceland next door. As I walked in I noticed there were 3 ladies working that saw me come in and none of them greeted me. I was a little thrown off because I felt the feeling of "cheap" walking in. There were many random things for sale like fake fashion jewelry (the kind that will make your skin turn green as a reaction to the cheap material), cheap nail polish (the kind that is watered down and will chip off your nail after an hour of wear), cheap makeup (that will cause you to break out) and more. The "waiting area" is a bunch of chairs lined up like you're at the DMV. There was a TV that was not turned on. Although the door was open I felt as if I was suffocating in there because it felt really humid. They really need to turn on a fan in there to provide more ventilation. While waiting I overheard a customer complaining that the lady gave her uneven eyebrows and of course the lady blamed the customer. Most important thing I'd like to mention is that I noticed the ladies working here do not sanitize before and after each client. I'm all about being sanitary and clean so that's pretty disgusting! As for the eyebrow threading---$5 you get what you pay for. Cheap price=cheap work. Eyebrow threading is supposed to leave your eyebrows looking clean, sharp, & defined. That definitely did not happen here. Get it together ladies! I'd also like to add that as I was paying, my daughter was eyeballing the rack of nail polishes. She was just amazed and gazing at all the different colors (she's almost 2). Just standing there and one of the ladies yelled out "DONT TOUCH!" to her and my daughter got scared and startled because she wasn't even touching them! Excuse me, I raise my kids to be well behaved. Maybe YOU'RE used to kids touching everything they shouldn't so for that, I forgive you. Will I return? Nope. Do I recommend this place? Nope. But if you're balling on a budget and can only afford $5 threading then go for it. Hope your experience will be better than mine. :) read more

I went in last month to have a henna done before I headed out to coachella and totally loved it! The owner and workers and so nice! I picked out a design from the book and she did it in a few minutes, I loved it so much I had to return! I went in this week to get another henna done but this time I brought in a design I wanted, and OMG she did such an amazing job! I literally get compliments EVERYWHERE I go!!! [Updated review] I used to give this place a 5 star review. But God knows how long I've been coming here and when I walk in, the people give me a look that makes me feel unwelcome. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe that's just how they are and they'll open up and be more warm over time. That's a negative! Never happened and won't happen. THE LOOK they give me is what KILLS ME!!! It's as if they are annoyed. I'll GLADLY PAY MORE TO A PLACE THAT WILL APPRECIATE MY BUSINESS and what more my loyalty. They are either really bored with their job or hate it. The last few times, they did a poor job. How hard is it to do your only job? I'm not saying that just because.... but really... THEY REALLY missed A LOT on they areas I asked to be threaded. What a disappointment! I'm going in for one more time to redeem my free eyebrow thread and then I AM DONE WITH THEM. No more walking through the mall when my face is red from the threading. Yes, they don't speak very much in English or to you at all. But, that's okay, that's not what I came for. This place is definitely a steal that'll save you money on your threading needs. I was a little afraid to try this place for eyebrow threading since no one I know had tried it, there were no reviews on yelp, and it was only 5 bux. And eyebrow grooming mistake is hard to conceal! But... alas, times are tough and $5 was quite appealing. The spot is located in the back of the Indian grocery mart. When I got there, a bit before they closed, there were a few people waiting. I was pleased by the job they were doing on those ahead of me so I went for it. I cannot said that it was it the best job i have gotten on my brows but it was definitely nice! She shaped them well and god every little hair out. They did try to sell me on some 'facial' for my huge pores but whatever, for $5 I don't mind that! Also, they do accept credit cards!! read more

I'm so disappointed, upset and mad. I told my technician 3 times to not touch the thickness of my brows but just clean them. She gave me an attitude about to say" alright I got it" sure enough she screwed it up , made it different and thin. I have party to go and she screwed it up. This authentic Indian salon is like a getaway in the motherland, from there artists cultural henna designs to they're wonderful herbal facials and hair masks . I love the way they treat each client and they're prices are inexpensive and work is fantastic. I definitely recommend visiting this salon if you want to get a touch of India at its best on all your beauty needs. I went here to get my eyebrows threaded and Madhu was great! She was sweet, suggested what I needed on my eyebrows and when I said no, she accepted it and did her best to please me. Of course, just like any other place -they always want to try and get you to thread everything else, but she respected all of my "No's" and went on. For $5, I had a GREAT experience! This is definitely a family owned location - she had her 4 y.o. daughter there bugging that she wanted to call her grandmother. She took slightly longer because of this, but she did apologize for the interruption. read more

I moved to the area recently and hate going to new places. People always want to chop my eyebrows off. I decided to give this place a try and I'm so disappointed with the threading. The girl literally chopped off one of my eyebrows. All I asked was for a clean up. She cleaned up and chopped the other. I guess you get what you pay for and will never go here again. I am a HUGE fan of Indian food and became a customer of Bombay Sweet and Spice Market years ago. Right away I noticed they had a beauty salon and decided to check it out, let me tell you, I now have two great reasons to come here: the market and the beauty salon! The threading is top of the line! My friends tag along when I come here so it's a big group of Caucasian women having a good time and being treated really really good! We love the friendly environment! This is a long time family owned business facility and we feel part of this family! Their facials are super good! There are plenty of items for sale in the salon and the prices are more than fair! Love you so much and thank you for making us feel special! read more

Went here to get a henna & I loved it! Their hennas aren't overpriced like other places and my best friend had told me to come here bc they were cheap and still did awesome hennas. & YES they do a great job! I also threaded my upper lip for the first time and it hurt a little but I def plan to come back! The owner Madu is also very very sweet and friendly! I plan to always get my hennas with her from now on which is why I gave them 5 stars. I called 15 minutes in advance for an appt and they started me as soon as I arrived ! My whole family goes to get their eyebrows threaded here. I love the service. They are quick and my eyebrows have never looked better! It is also really affordable. Most eyebrow services cost $10-15 dollars, not to mention a lot more for further hair removal. Here, it is only $5 for eyebrows. They are very friendly and they take the time to do their job right. They offer more than just eyebrow threading. They offer ear piercings, sell beautiful jewelry, and they provide hair cuts. I love it! I highly recommend this place. read more

I recently visited Bombay Beauty Salon and had a very disappointing experience. The lady who did my eyebrows refused to give me her name when I asked, which felt unprofessional. She ended up messing up my eyebrows, leaving one way thinner than the other. This experience was extremely disappointing. I came with my friends to visit LA and we found this place and Madhu did my friends eyebrows and then later we also decided to get a henna tattoo as well over there, they gave the best customer service and madhu was really professional and skilled in her work and also very sweet . They closed at 7 but took me in anyway even though it was almost 6. I warned Mary ahead of time that my nails were really damaged and to just do her best. She was extremely sweet and strategized with me on the best way to do the nails without causing too much damage (my nail tips were very weak and splitting). She ended up putting acrylic tips, dip base, and gel on top. They came out beautifully. Mary and I talked, joked, and laughed almost the whole time. When it was time for the pedicure, I met Kathy who was equally as sweet and fun to talk to. By the time the pedicure was done, it was almost 8 so I didnt mention the eyebrows and I think Mary forgot. Just as well, I felt bad enough they kept me an hour past their closing time!! But they were extremely gracious, kind, and took their time with me. They gave me their card and told me to call next time so they can wait for me. I definitely dont want to go anywhere ever again. These ladies gave me much needed laughs and me-time after having a trying day at work, and I am forever grateful for that. Oh, and somehow all this only cost $96? Honestly, I expected much more for the service and quality and $96 seemed a bit low to me. The people who work here don't know how special and good they are.
