Excellent Sunday brunch for 30 dollars per person. The hot buffet offered salads, several vegetarian dishes, and multiple other chicken/lamb/shrimp options as well as rices. We stopped in on Valentine's Day evening... without a reservation. Eek. But, they were able to seat us outside. I wish I could remember our server's name because he was outstanding. Service was super quick. We ordered several vegetarian dishes and they were all incredible. We love Indian food, and this was a great spice level and the flavors just melded perfectly together. It's a little upscale, but fine for families, too. The mutter paneer was the standout dish. It was mouthwateringly good. If I had one gripe, it's that one order of naan only comes with four pieces-- basically just one round cut into four. For our family of three, we definitely needed two orders. I ordered the butter chicken medium spice and it was absolutely delicious. I was a little worried it might be too spicy, but it was perfect. We ordered various plates and shared family style: chilli chicken, lamb roganjosh, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken and with lamb. For dessert, we got the nutella naan from the kids menu. Really good Indian food for sure. I love that they always get the spice level correct. I like my food medium spiced with just enough kick to still be enjoyable. Nothing is worse than having your food too spicy and you can't enjoy it because your moth is on fire. I've never had an issue at Bombay Darbar wit the spice level. I will most definitely be coming back. My friend from Hyderabad, India took me here. She got the HOT chicken korma (I didn't even try) because my order was a MILD butter chicken. She also ordered naan and I went with rice to accompany. I have had pretty good butter chicken but this was probably the best I've had. The mild had enough "spice" but was not spicy. The rice was flavored very well. The server was amazing and accommodating with answering all the questions. The vibes are boujee but you don't have to be dressed the part. My friend who has tried other Indian places around said the prices are cheap comparably. I had the Paneer Tikka and the samosa chaat which was delicious but the bang bang shrimp was amazing. Loved the variety of the traditional thali--came with our protein, dal soup, mini samosa, 3 pieces of naan, rice, and dessert (rice pudding when we came). The lamb was tender and flavorful. The Bombay salad also had a generous portion of greens and the tandoor chicken breast was moist/flavorful as well. The mango lassi was standard good, can't go wrong with it. Service was very attentive and they're used to people sharing the plates. Plenty of seating available inside when we came. Parking is PayByPhone street parking or you can pay in the nearby garages. What an absolute gem! I have spent the past 8 years looking for a place to enjoy a thali, then we stumbled upon this place and I couldn't be happier. We've had takeout from this place, and after eating at the restaurant itself I can conclude that it is SOLID. The food we had was absolutely delicious (both as takeout and dining in) and everyone there was friendly and attentive. Their butter chicken was delicious and what I love is that the portions were reasonably priced, fresh, and delicious. This place puts love into what they do and the people they serve. I loved that Alejandro took the time to come to our table to check on us even though he wasn't our server. He even showed us the traditional way to eat the thali (putting all the items from the little bowls all onto the bigger tray). We appreciated this little tip. During takeout I also loved that they had reusable special bags to help keep the food warm (a small detail that goes a long way). Be sure to visit during lunch time on weekdays to enjoy a Thali. First time coming to the Doral location (I usually frequent the coconut grove one!) and I am very disappointed with the service. We went on a Monday night and it took them over 30 minutes to bring out our food. Restaurant was not busy. Too many people coming to our table, we had no idea who our server was. Finally the girl at the front that sat us took our order. So yummy! We followed our noses on this one. My friend and coworker saw a gal with a beautiful takeout bag and asked her where she had ordered from. We got the name, looked at all the beautiful pictures on Google and Yelp, and immediately knew we had to take part as well. So my family went to Bombay Darbar , I couldn't make it but I asked them to order me a lamb biryani medium spicy. Omg ! It came out overly spicy! Was very disappointed. I like spicy food but it was ridiculously overly spiced . The people needed to be retrained in the kitchen . Totally ruined. Portion was also small . Not worth the price. Managers of the restaurant needs to be held Accountable . I definitely don't recommend this place. My family also didn't enjoy the food . Waste of money and time. Went to the new Doral location last week for happy hour/dinner and could not have asked for a better experience. The drinks were on point and pretty strong, actually. What an absolutely amazing location! Bombay Darbar is such a great Indian Restaurant. Have gone to Coconut Grove many times, but recently discovered one located just down the road from me. What a great location. Located on the corner in downtown Doral. Excellent seating. Tables are set very nicely. The staff was fantastic including the management team. From having our beverages consistent filled to the complimentary treat to start, excellent Vegetable samosas, and incredible dinner Butter Chicken and Korma Chicken. The flavors are on point. The butter chicken had a rich butter aroma and the korma chicken has just the right amount of spice. Both dishes were severed hot and with unlimited rice which was flavored and cooked to perfection. The garlic Naan....wow! Absolutely delicious. Could have ordered more it was so good. I am highly impressed with this location.
