I love Indian food. I married into an Indian family so I had better love it. Sometimes when I get Indian food for lunch at work, my wife gets jealous that I ate it without her. But when I tell her about this place, I'm guessing she might not care as much. I've been wanting to try it for a while. Today I rolled the dice. And I'd say my experience was decidedly mixed. Basically, the samosa was excellent. Knowing her she'd love that. The Gobi Manchurian, one of my favorite dishes, was decent but I've had better flavors elsewhere. But I'm not complaining about it. Knowing her, she'd say it was OK at best. The Chicken 65, another of my favorites, is something I'm complaining about. The flavor was just way off. All I could taste was hot spice and lemon, and nothing else. Knowing her, she'd want to throw it out. I ordered it mild, but a lot of places where I do that it doesn't affect the other flavors. Maybe it does here. I will say they had a pretty decent mango lassi. So a couple things kept me from making this review worse. I'd come back here if I craved a good samosa and lassi as a snack. Went with my daughter for lunch in June 2025. I have eaten Indian food all over the world, and this is truly the best naan that I have ever had. The paneer tikka masala was heavenly, and the other three curries we had were fabulous! The woman who welcomed us and made the food made it very clear to us: "This is YOUR restaurant, And you are very very welcome!" The only critique is that the air conditioning was off, and it is a hot day by our Pennsylvania standards. However, we understood, because it is certainly not a hot day by Bombay standards, at 87°F! As I'm new to the West Chester area, I was interested in finding a good Indian restaurant around here. This one was about ten minutes away in Malvern and looked like it had a good selection. I picked up dinner to-go for 3 people. We ordered: -Vegetable Samosas x2: These were a good size, cooked well, and had a great filing. Two pieces per order, so we got two orders. -Paneer Tikka Masala: Sauce was great, but there was not a lot of paneer for an entree. -Channa Masala: Really nicely spiced, and a good portion size. -Chicken Makhani: Again a delicious sauce, but the amount of chicken was lacking. -Garlic Naan x2: Delicious! Warm and fluffy with an intoxicating garlic smell that almost made me rip into the bag on the way home. Definitely recommend getting two orders for 3 people. We received three nice containers of rice on the side. Next time I'd like to try their Kati rolls as the pictures look mouth-watering! Service was friendly and food was ready on-time. Overall I thought everything had good flavors and the quality was good. However, I felt the portion sizes for the entrees were not up to par. We each got a few pieces of chicken and paneer and then were left with an abundance of sauce. And extra sauce is great! But for the amount of food we ordered I expected to have more protein in the entrees (especially the paneer) and be a little fuller by the end of the meal. Sooooo....The chicken makhani with naan was great! We enjoyed lamb Rogan Josh - it was a yummy - though it didn't taste anything like Rogan Josh. Again, it was delicious, so no love lost. The only favor I'll ask of you is if you order 'Aloo Papdi Chaat' and they give you a goopy mess, please do not consume. It's a relative simply dish which I'm not sure why they have a hard time putting together. See picture - of what I got and what it should be. Traveling home from a late travel soccer game for my oldest, we happened upon Bombay Dhabba. The food came out quickly and appeared/tasted to be fresh and hand-made. Folks in the back were talking brightly to each other, even this late on, while rolling and filling dough and cooking. Any questions we had were answered quickly. While most of their business seemed to be carry-out (we were the only customers eating inside), everyone was helpful and kind. The restaurant is colorful and clean. While no one sat down to eat when we were there, it was probably because of the late hour on a Sunday night. However, the in & out traffic of to-go orders suggest we weren't the only people interested in eating there. Anything we needed was at-hand or offered to us. The food was delicious! My wife is vegetarian and my boys and I eat meat too, so we loved the mix of choices for all. The vegetable samosas were hot and perfectly done for an appetizer. We got two Family Meals - this let's you get two choices of entrees and two bread choices. We did one veg and one meat combo. The Dhabba Lamb Curry was a fan-favorite for the boys and I, as was the Saag Paneer for the whole crew. We also had the Dal Makhani and Chicken Tikka Masala - similarly fantastic. I will be wanting more of their Garlic Naan as soon as possible, too. Each person was able to get a sample of things they wanted and left quite full. (This says a lot because I have a 16 year old who plays sports and is NEVER full.) My 8 year old now expects to come here weekly as the lady who sent food over the counter buttered him up with all kinds of kind words and a Mango Lassi at the end. The tasty place to eat in and around Malvern area. Their food are made freshly every single day with touch of home cooked meal. I am giving them a 5 Stars just because taste of their food since it is far in between to find any good desi restaurants. Most of their menu items are better than every other restaurant in the area, at least in my opinion. Due to their small seating arrangements it is hard at times to find any table. Very pleased with both the food and service! (Disclaimer: We have only ordered delivery). I have gotten the paneer tikka masala twice and loved the spices - great taste. I've had a lot of tikka masala and theirs is very flavorful. Their garlic naan is delicious. My boyfriend has gotten both the saag paneer and paneer makhni and he really enjoyed both as well. Vegetable Samosa taste awesome, not greasy at all. Chicken Tikka Masala is delicious with some smoky taste, yum! Saag Paneer has this creamy smooth spinach and small cubes of cheesy paneer. Never having tried Bombay Dhabba, I didn't expect a lot from my Biryani order. I'd ordered them elsewhere and been disappointed with a bowl of uninspired, spicy rice with a little meat. I was pleasantly surprised in my Chicken 65 Biryani here: plenty of tasty chicken, moist, spicy rice (including whole spices). Another surprise: the dish looked exactly like the photo on the menu with a big piece of lemon and sliced onion. Bombay Dhabba (a "dhabba" is an Indian roadside restaurant) sells food Indians buy on the street from small vendors. Check YouTube, particularly "Delhi Food Walks" for some fun visits to these places. I'll definitely go again to try their other offerings. read more

I moved to US just over an year ago and finding this restaurant was a bliss. After moving from India I have always been looking for good Indian food and my search stopped here. The food is amazing and over that the prices are very reasonable. Staff is courteous and service is quick.They dont try to rip you off in the name of authentic Indian food. This review is specifically for Malvern location as I have also tried their Audobon location but the taste here at Malvern location is different and far better. The credit goes to Vikas Gupta who is the chef here. Apart from being a great cook he is very friendly and understands your taste and tweaks the food as per your taste bud. Overall, he knows what he is doing. All the items on the menu are delicious and it ia difficult to choose just one. Be it tandoori, indo-chinese or street food menu. Everything is just great. One should try this restaurant atleast once and I am sure they won't be disappointed. read more

Worst food experience. I ordered two garlic naan, tadka daal and daal makhni. When I went for pick up there was one family eating and one bag on the back ledge not accessible to customers. I stood there waiting hoping to be acknowledged. Finally the chef came to ask the table how the food was and then asked me what I was waiting for. I said I had a pick up order. Of course, the bag waiting on the ledge was mine. She handed me the bag and said my food is so tasty you will remember moms' home cooking. Great food!! I had the mixed veg pakora as well as the okra curry and garlic naan. All of it was delicious. I did think that their mint chutney tasted a little bit off. I don't know why but it tasted like banana blended with cilantro. Regardless the rest of my food was great and I will definitely order again because one of the attractions to this restaurant in particular is the Dhabba which my coworker told me was used in Punjabi mostly for truck stops and highways. My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch platter yesterday. The veg platter came with paneer tikka masala, vegetable kurma, rice and a delightful naan. The food was served fresh and hot, and the taste was authentic and just right. Even the basmati rice was made just perfectly. The owners were such a nice couple, and explained to me that they make every dish after receiving the order, and I think the few minutes of wait is completely worth it. Went on a Saturday evening for dinner at Bombay Dhaba Malvern. Ordered vada pav which was STALE!!! and smelling badly!! We decided to dine in for the first time at this restaurant . At 8.50pm the lady working in the restaurant kitchen shouted from there that they were closing at 9pm. At 8.58 she came to our table while we were eating hurriedly to finish our dinner and said that the restaurant is closing and that she has to go home!!! We exactly left the premises at 9pm so that they could close the restaurant on time and they would not have to go home late because of us. This was the most wierdest experience ever. How do you treat your customers??? Specially when people have started showing some confidence and visiting restaurants after ordering in for almost a year due to COVID!!
