There are fairly few times where I think any restaurant rises to the level of 5 stars. 5 stars means unbelievable food and/or service. Fattoush earned every one of these 5 stars. I don't know how I never came across this place before, but I'm so happy I did. This is just honestly some of the best mediterranean food I've had anywhere. The quality is amazing, the flavors are fantastic, the prices are totally reasonable, and the owner is incredibly friendly. A friend and I stopped in for lunch today. I'm one of those guys who wants to try everything, we started with the Mezza plate. The falafel was moist and delicious. The kibbe was seasoned perfectly. Both were fried crispy, and there was no grease at all. Absolutely fantastic! The mezza plate was completed with a healthy side of smooth, creamy hummus, a few tasty grape leaves, and a smoky baba ganoush. My friend ordered the beef shawarma and I had the lamb platter. Both were giant servings of meat over rice. Hers came with a fattoush (salad), lightly-dressed. Mine was served with taboulleh which was bright and fresh. Roger was very attentive and friendly, and seems (rightfully) proud to serve up his cuisine. We finished our lunch with his homemade baklava, which was made with cashew instead of walnut. Fattoush is one of those little gems that seems to operate under the radar. Hidden away in a nondescript strip mall, this restaurant doesn't look like anything special from the outside; and the interior, awash with unadorned tables and minimalist décor, isn't much of a turn on either. However, looks can be deceiving. The strictly utilitarian surroundings belie the fresh, vibrant, made-from-scratch Mediterranean (Lebanese) cuisine that continues to surprise and delight. Add downright moderate prices and the fact that you may BYOB... and you have a recipe for a marvelously enjoyable evening at table. There are a number of excellent appetizers from which to choose, including several absolutely first-rate salads. For my money, however, there's really only one way to start things off; and that's with the incomparable Lebanese Mezza (pictured), a shared platter comprised of many of the traditional usual suspects: Hummus and Baba Ghanouj (popular apps made with ground chickpeas & smoked eggplant, respectively); Falafel (deep-fried spiced balls of ground chickpeas & fava beans) topped with tahini sauce; Kibbe (Lebanese meatballs stuffed with spiced beef, onions, and nuts); Stuffed Grape Leaves; and, of course, plenteous portions of Pita Bread for dipping, etc. The grape leaves may strike many as old hat. May be... but they are still quite delicious and incredibly superior to representatives I have sampled elsewhere. Both the Hummus and Baba Ghanouj exhibit an incredible depth of flavor (my dining partner prefers the former; I, the latter), and the Falafel and Kibbe are irresistibly seasoned. Among the house special entrées, of particular note are the Shawarma. This refers to a method of meat preparation where cuts of spiced & marinated lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are stacked in a cone-like shape on a vertical rotisserie. As it rotates and the outside cooks continuously, thin slices are shaved off. Shawarma is one of the world's most popular street foods, especially in countries of the eastern Mediterranean, western Asia, and northeast Africa. Shawarma, either beef or chicken, is served as a wrap or on a platter with various accompaniments, which include rice and Tabbouleh salad. For example, I recently enjoyed the Chicken Shawarma (pictured), which was garnished with lettuce, pickles, a first-rate garlic sauce, and wrapped in very thin Lebanese pita bread. Excellent... The big surprise, however, was the side dish. Much against my better judgment, I ordered the fries; and they were, if you'll pardon my French, without doubt, the best fries it has ever been my pleasure to ingest. Encrusted with a delicate complexion of seasonings, they were incredibly crisp and their flavor simply off the charts. Kudos to the kitchen. Not to be missed. The platters, noted above, also deserve mention. The Beef Shawarma Platter is served over rice with Fattoush salad and tahini sauce; the Chicken Shawarma Platter is served with rice, tabbouleh salad, and homemade garlic sauce. Both versions beguile the palate with winning combinations of tastes and textures. But even more interesting, in my opinion, is the Samke Harra (pictured). Pan-fried flounder is served on a pillow of rice and perfectly seasoned slices of sautéed zucchini, topped with diced tri-colored peppers, nuts & onion, and finished with a sensual tahini sauce. Portion sizes here are quite generous. So generous, in fact, that our server noted that those diners who, like us, order the Lebanese Mezza to start, often elect to share one entrée rather than order two... Certainly something to keep in mind. But be sure to leave room for the homemade desserts, as the Baklava and fabulously decadent Bread Pudding (pictured) are both outstanding. Fattoush is one of the better Mediterranean places in the Philly suburbs and i always find myself coming back for more. The hummus and the baba ganoush is excellent and the falafel aren't fried to oblivion (too many places have falafel that are about as hard as golf balls.) get tons of hummus and their excellent pita and have yourself a party. Our family visited Fattoush for the first time yesterday evening. The food was excellent. We ordered fattoush salad, tabbouleh, two chicken entrees, and the hummus. We have two young children, an 8 month old and 2.5 month old. It can be very challenging to go out to dinner. The staff at the restaurant were more than welcoming. I've had Fattoush on my list of local restaurants I wanted to visit this year, and I'm glad to have finally had the chance to treat my extended family there for a meal! There were 5 of us together and plenty of cozy seating close to the back wall. We arrived a little later than the dinner hour, so there was plenty of seating as the kitchen was winding down. Our server was lovely and attentive, and the owner also came out to say hello and check on us. We ordered house specials and an appetizer to share. Everything came out hot and fresh from the kitchen. I ordered takeout from here while in town for a wedding and the food was delicious! My boyfriend and I split a lamb platter with baba ganoush appetizer which came out to $30 and was plenty of food for us. The lamb was super tender and flavorful and was served over seasoned rice. It came with hummus and fattoush - the hummus was creamy and you could tell was homemade. The baba ganoush also had great flavor and came with a pita. Love the combination of the chickpeas and fava for the falafel. There was a lovely crunch. The Lebanese bread warm with a slight (wonderful) crispness. I had a side salad that was their Fattoush Salad. All fresh ingredients and house made pita chips served as croutons. My husband had the Chicken Shawarma Wrap on Lebanese Bread. Also excellent! The side he chose was a very tasty cucumber salad. We topped off the meal with Baklava. Loved the texture and crispness, and not cloyingly sweet as some we've had at other restaurants. It was sliced thin & neither fatty nor greasy & the portion was huge. The pita was so fresh & the tzatziki was perfection. The falafel is also a must try. It melted in my mouth & the sauce that paired with it was absolutely delicious. The service was so friendly & welcoming. I believe it may have been the owner that greeted me, waited on me, & made sure I didn't have any questions about the menu. He also allowed me to customize my order since I was by myself and wanted a smaller portion of falafel so that I could try more items. I seriously can't say enough great things about this place. Was so excited to find this place!! Lebanese food is one of my favorite cuisines!!! We were greeted right away and allowed to choose our table. There were a few dishes I would have loved to try but pressed for time I ordered a Lebanese lamb gyro. The lamb was marinated in Lebanese herbs and seasonings and cut into great bite size pieces. It was so tender and a great portion throughout the pita. The tzatziki sauce was also in Lebanese seasonings but still tangy and garlicky. This was served with choice of side. I chose the cabbage salad. It was fresh lemony and a great accompaniment to my wrap. We also ordered the Fattoush salad and this was also a very full seasoned salad. I especially loved the pomegranates sprinkled over top. Kudos to the chef! I do hope I will come by for dinner soon. This location was easy to find and they have parking right in front. My only negative remark is the restrooms could be wiped down better. As I passed the kitchen it looked clean and tidy. Can't wait to go back to try the Shearma!! read more

My partner and I came here on the recommendation of his coworker, who is from the area. My partner got the lamb platter and I got the lamb gyro on pita with fries. We also got the fattoush salad to share. Salad was super refreshing, tomatoes were sweet. The lamb meat was super tender and I loved the white sauce on my gyro. My partner demolished the rice and lamb, which also came with hummus and salad, he cleaned his plate! Staff was attentive. Nothing to complain about! 4 stars bc it was very tasty, but not the best gyro pita I've ever had. In an unassuming shopping plaza is a chef that makes some of the best Kibbeh in the Western Hemisphere. Everything on the menu (and my party tried most of it) was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Not to say the people there weren't nice because they were but they really need one or two more people working in there to help especially during busier times. That being said definitely go there for the food but don't be in a rush. It is a BYOB if you were looking for that information. Now the food... absolutely delicious! I recommend ordering the Lebanese Mezza (grape leaves were the best I've personally had) everything that came with that was super good and the flavors were wonderful. The fattoush is also really great to share- very nice flavors and overall very refreshing. The main dishes that we ordered: chicken chipotle wrap, Lamb platter, Mediterranean chicken and Samke Harra. Everything was delicious and everything but the wrap could definitely be split into two meals so in that case well priced for the portion. I will mention that the chipotle chicken wrap had quite the heat to it so if you like spicy that's definitely something for you. Make sure to save some room for dessert because if they have bread pudding it's mouthwatering!! The Baklava is good as well but the bread pudding was amazing.
