This is a great little spot with a cozy atmosphere and the employees are kind and welcoming, but the food we had wasn't that great. I've had a lot better in regards to the dish we ate. My girlfriend and I were craving some Indian food so we stopped by one day on a little road trip. We opted for the Dahi Puri as we both had been craving it, but the wet plate left little to be desired in the umami department. The shells were soggy instead of crunchy and the taste wasn't appetizing, sadly. I will definitely come back and try other dishes in the future when I am in town, but what we had on this day in particular I will opt out from then. Thanks for the great service and hospitality. Tried this place for takeout recently. Overall food is average to below average for some dishes. Online ordering easy and prompt. Dine in also looks like a good option. The biryani is very average for a run of the mill Indian restaurant. Does not hold up to authentic biryani though - really doesn't have the depth of spices you expect. Rice slightly overcooked. No fried onions, red onions, hard boiled egg etc. The chicken is decent in it. Again, it's not bad, but it's not great. Malai kofta was okay. It was spiced heavily with anise which I've not seen before. Not necessarily bad, but very different. Otherwise it's pretty good, koftas are well made. But probably avoid that one if you don't like anise. Samosas here were pretty sub-par in my opinion, maybe just my preference though. I like samosas with thinner crispy wrappings and flavorful spiced filling. These are more thick dough wrappings and fairly bland filling. Chicken 65 was more like chili chicken. Actually, not entirely confident they didn't switch it on accident. I'm used to dry seasoned chicken for chicken 65, what I got was chicken in a chili sauce with peppers and onions. It was okay, about 20% of the chicken was gristly/not edible the rest was average. I'll probably stick to fresh mint for Indian food in Morgantown. They have dosa there too and the food is better in my opinion, at least for the above dishes. read more

Before coming to this place, I never had Indian food before, but needless to say this is the best! I first came here as a college student, my dorm only a few steps away. Having no car and this being one of the few restaurants within walking distance, I was sure to give it a try sooner or later. The food here is so good! My favorite is the butter chicken with garlic naan. It has the perfect amount of creaminess to spice and always leaves me feeling full and happy! The people who work here are so nice and can always accommodate your order to however you like it. Every once in a while this place has a buffet where you can try a whole range of Indian food! Good was incredible. Almost every time we go to Morgantown we either talk about Bombay or we actually go there. They have the ability to remove ALL SPICY which works perfect for our 4-year-old. This place is amazing! Their food is traditional Indian with classic levels of spice, rightfully-tempting deserts and fantastic appetizers. My most recent order through another food delivery service was what really set them apart from the pack. They ran out of a desert I ordered which was not reflected on DoorDash, so the store personally called me and remedied the issue by giving me whatever desert I wanted. On top of this, they modified a traditional dish and added extra spice to it (which does not usually come with tandoori). Overall, fantastic service. I will be back! read more

Best Indian I've had in years! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but these guys really know what they're doing. The food was hot, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I was a loyal customer for years. LOVED their butter chicken until tonight. I have a severe allergic reaction and when I called for a refund I was told no because they just recently started using cashews in their butter chicken. Nowhere on the menu does it say there are nuts in the dish. Other dishes with nuts have them listed as an ingredient. Food was really good! The flavors were exactly as I expected. On a whim I ordered an portion of naan with dried fruit. This was really good when mopping up the extra sauce on my plate. This place is unassuming on the outside, but you can smell it's amazing food before you walk through the door. Very generous portions for reasonable prices, and the food. THE FOOD! As a vegetarian, this is one of my favorite haunts. Morgantown has no shortage of amazing Indian food but I think this place ranks close to the top of the list for quality. Perfectly spiced aloo gobi, and the palak paneer is just comfort food. The naan is fresh and delicious, and the chutneys are excellent. The Channa masala is fragrant and floral. Would love to see bhindi masala on the menu sometime! I highly recommend this place. If you're new to India food go with the palak paneer or the paneer makhani. I'm so excited for another Indian restaurant in Morgantown!! I placed my pickup order this evening and the man who answered was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered the butter chicken, lamb karahi (not on the menu but they gladly made it), and garlic naan. I have tried to get karahi at the other Indian restaurants in Morgantown and they never got it right. Bombay cooked an amazing meal, filled with large chunks of lamb that were tender and juicy. Wish they used decent vegetables in biriyani. The frozen zucchini, broccoli (whoever heard of these in veg biriyani?) carrots and cauliflower were chewy as they seemed thawed. They had not marinated and they tasted chewy and raw. Malai kofta was decent and hence the decent 3 out of 5. Naan and Raita okay. read more

I am impressed with the owners and the food at The Bombay Indian Grill. The Tandoori Mixed Grill was delicious and cooked perfectly. The Yellow Dal Tadka and Onion Kulcha are among the best I have had. The owners are incredibly friendly, accommodating and provide more than is expected. The buffet was overpriced and really pretty horrible. Normally when you're really hungry any kind of food would taste good but not here. I was very disappointed and four stars for this place is a miracle. It's probably the worst meal I've had in the past couple of years. The dining halls have better food. Worst food I have ever eaten. I wish I could give a 0. I went there due to yelp reviews but this place terrifies me to even try indian food at other spots. Biryani was not only full of chili's but had no flavor to it besides the weird vegetables which you will never find in India to even call it indian biryani. Chicken tikka masala was nothing but chicken dipped in ketchup. Worst was samosas they were stale and refried, so you know it just spills oil all the way in the plate.
