I had ordered food. I asked the guy that one of the food was the one of the dishes was too sweet. He said no the food came. I really cannot digest with food. One of his food. I tried to exchange it. The guy gave me an attitude there's no one that speaks good English there and then when I finally speak to the owner and they have me calling all day long every time: an hour: an hour The owner talk to me very nasty and gave me an attitude and said when I send you no more food you bring the food over here we give you back the money when all I wanted was to exchange it for something that I would like I think is really bad that you pay your hard-working money to somebodyand they talk to you in such a way when you're not complaining about anything else, but one dish out of all the dishes I said everything was good except that one dish that's all I wanted to exchange and instead of getting a nice treatment I got treated awful worst restaurant experience ever and the worst thing I didn't even complain about how the condition my food came. A group of 5 of us went to this restaurant. The waitress Bhaya went above and beyond for us. She pulled tables together for us and brought us samples of the different sauces to taste test. She was constantly sweeping with a broom to keep the place spotless! I used to go all the way to Livonia about a 80 min drive to eat Indian food but now I found THE PLACE, BOMBAY KITCHEN IS A HIDDEN PLACE just a 15 min drive! I'm not sure what the people who left a bad comment are coming from. Maybe they were having a bad day! I was so impressed with our waitress Bhaya that I called the owner to tell her so! We only order take out from Bombay Kitchen, so we've never been to the physical restaurant. But the food is always pretty consistently good. And the delivery (through Seamless or Grubhub) comes within the hour. I ordered Alu Mottor Gobi, Bindi Masala, garlic naan and samosa. All items were below average and altogether disappointing. Who puts corn in samosa? None of the sauces that came with the samosa tasted right. The texture of the naan was pancakey and lacking in density. This review is based on a Grubhub order I placed last night. Overall, the food wasn't that bad. In fact, I enjoyed some of the flavors in my entree and vegetables. My issues actually begin with the prices. One of the items I ordered, the paneer tikka, cost me $6.99. Given this price, I was expecting a good-sized appetizer. However, when the food arrived, I was presented with 7 small cubes of paneer. That means each cube - which I wouldn't even qualify as bite-sized - cost $1. Not worth it. To make matters worse, they were extremely dry and had a rubbery texture. I've definitely had much better paneer elsewhere. Additionally, the cheese naan I ordered featured small dry bits of cheese baked into the bread. Now, I've ordered this dish from other restaurants before and the cheese was always melted and gooey. This was certainly not that kind of experience. It was as if someone dried out cottage cheese and placed it into the bread before cooking. It was just odd. To top it all off, the food was 20 minutes late from the estimated arrival window - not ideal by any means. I highly doubt I'll be ordering from Bombay Kitchen again. I first moved into the neighborhood a couple years ago and I stumbled into this place in the summertime. Quiet, chill, Bollywood drama on the telly. There was a girl behind the counter and a guy sitting in a chair watching TV. I asked if i could order takeout and she handed me a paper menu. When I asked what her favorite dish was, both of their faces lit up! Hmm, what kind of meat do you like? Lamb? Do you like spinach? Curry? The Vindaloo is good. Good? Okay, we'll make it! These people are really here to cook for you and share their food. Tender and with deep flavor. Later my girlfriend and came back and had a bona fide feast (because we have trouble deciding what to get) and were quite surprised by the quality of everything we got. Something that really stood out to me was the liver. Really delicate flavor and perfectly cooked. I do see a lot of the reviews here are from seamless- maybe because I always popped in in person I've had great experiences. I ordered food and asked for an accommodation for a substitute of Naan instead of rice which they did for me previously and I was told no. They said they would add the extra price of naan even if I didn't get the rice, so I said I did not want the order. They still made and delivered the food and their delivery guy was calling me multiple times to get the order and I told him I never placed the order. Worst seamless experience I've ever had. Do not order from here. Ever. No matter how desperate you are. Even if they are the last restaurant on earth. You will not get your food and you will regret it. I called to check on my order as it was well past the quoted delivery time. The owner was talking a mile a minute, manic, barely making sense. He told me the driver was 5 minutes away and hung up on me. 15 mins pass and I call to ask when the driver actually left the restaurant. Turns out the restaurant is a 25 min drive from me but they quote 20 min delivery time on Seamless. The man said he has a lot of orders and called me sweetie just like the last reviewer. When I said I just want to know when the food is arriving he screamed that he's canceling my order so I can't leave a review on Seamless. Mold on their food! We certainly won't be eating here again. One of our desserts (the gulab jamun) had a nice deal of mold on the side. Okay, it happens, but the lack of responsibility for it really did these guys in. The man on the phone insisted it was "fresh" and then wanted to replace it with another "fresh" order. When we declined another order and wanted a refund - and we were willing to only be refunded the cost of the gulab jamun (even though we won't be eating the rest of our order), he refused the refund! Not what I call friendly service. Just give us the 5 dollars back for the moldy balls you sent us! (couldn't resist). Just own up to it. Say you made a mistake and work with your customer to fix it. We weren't rude, we weren't demanding a free order, we just wanted you to correct your mistake without us risking eating another mold covered dessert. This is the best Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at in Brooklyn, and Bushwick is blessed to have it. My favorite dish is the dhansak curry (I get it with chicken), which is a spicy spinach and lentil sauce. Usually I get that and a chicken tikka masala and mix them together, which yields like three meals for me over the next few days A lot of the low ratings seem to be about the delivery and service. I live around the corner and usually pick it up, and it's ready in literally five minutes. Inside there are a few tables with a waiter, but it's definitely more of a delivery operation. I've gotten it delivered a few times and it came very quickly. But if you aren't too prissy to deal with it, I promise you that this is by far your best option for Indian food in northern Brooklyn, and it's a crime that it has so few stars. read more

Do not expect decent customer service from these people. I ordered 2 chicken soups, 1 tomato vegetable soup, 1 mango yogurt drink and 1 regular yogurt drink. The tomato vegetable soup was bland and fiery. The mango drink was delicious. The regular yogurt drink was okay and ONE of the chicken soups was delicious. The problem is how the food was delivered. One of the chicken soups had cracked and split down the middle, emptying the contents all over the other food. So, all I'm looking for is a re refund for the one soup. For years now, this place has been my main go-to. They delivery extremely quick and the food is always top notch. Them menu has grown over the last several years, but the prices have stayed relatively the same. Amazingly, I have only dined at the restaurant once in the last 5 years, but the staff was extremely hospitable and pleasant. I'm also thrilled that they are on Beyond Menu, as Seamless has gotten greedy. It's been one of those days where I started my morning off with an insubstantial breakfast, poured obscene amounts of coffee down my gullet, and then went to the gym for a lackluster afternoon workout. Sure, I found a little time to work in between all this. Six PM rolled around and I was famished. Fridge empty; kitchen a damn mess--not that that's relevant. I'd had Bombay Kitchen bookmarked; figured it was time. Called it in, walked a few blocks down to pick it up, and a kind gentleman had it bagged up and ready to go. Unwrapped it at home and was pleased with what I saw: decent portion of tikka masala, full container of rice, and a substantial amount of roti. Not obscene portions of anything, mind you. Fifteen dollars seemed right, or perhaps a smidge high. Tikka masala was excellent: creamy, piping hot, rich and filling. I alternated mixing it with rice and roti. A part of me wanted to stop myself and save a little for later in the evening, but it was one of those deals where once I got rolling, you need to just get outta the way.
