I'm local and have ordered takeout from or eaten here three times now. It just disappointing every time. My chicken 65 is terribly overcooked every time. The butter chicken is far too sweet. Every time I've ordered "very hot" chicken or lamb curry I've gotten bones in a greasy mild sauce. I get the traditional preparation has cut up bones with the meat still on, but I swear they are trimming the meat off. I needed a separate bowl on the side to "catch" all the bones and inedible gristle from the dish. Why haven't I bombed them to one star? The rice is always good, with a lime wedge to add tartness and flavor. The naan has never disappointed me. Tonight, the best dish was the chicken wings, prepped in basic, store-bought buffalo sauce. That's not what they are supposed to be good at nor what should be the best. There are much better options within a few miles, including Zyka, six miles down Lawrenceville hwy. I keep trying Bombay Kitchen because it's very close, but I keep getting disappointed. read more

The hummus is excellent. This may be my new vegetarian lunch place. It comes with warm pita and a cucumber, tomato, cilantro salad. Very good. The grilled chicken was WAAYYY over cooked. Great Indian food on corner of Lawrenceville and Idlewood Road in relatively simple clean restaurant. Lunch buffet was $9.99 and they had four samples of meat butter chicken curry chicken and a few others and vegetarian dishes also. Basmati rice was off the chain. Salad was there also. Don't let the outside or the styrofoam plates fool you, this place is legit. We can happily say that we're regulars at Madina for many reasons. We literally order their Chicken 65 as an appetizer because we also want to enjoy their curries. Their Chicken 65 has this amazing thin crisp to the outside, the spice is just right, and the meat is thinly cut. They also fry a few slivers of okra and jalapeno with the 65. Outstanding. Our two go-to curries are butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala. You may adjust your spice level, for a more authentic flair. Both plates arrive with basmati rice + few thinly cut veggies. The meat is wonderfully tender from the tandoori and bite sized. Their yogurt is milky thin and cools the palate well. Order at the counter. The guys behind it are always friendly, will walk your food out to your table. They also get a kick that we order three entrees... cannot live without their 65! Want it all! We enjoy watching a cricket match while chowing down. This place is simple, seasoned, and hits the spot. Several parking spaces outside of the restaurant and we've never had an issue finding a table. SO GOOD. I stopped by to order to-go lunch and it they said it would be 15 min- it took about 10. Food was so hot and fresh. I got chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Everything was so flavorful and tasted very authentic. Total cost was $15, and I will be able to eat the other half tomorrow. The lunch buffet I saw was $9.99 and looked delish, however they didn't have chicken tikka masala out. I will need to stop by and try the buffet sometime. Happy! I saw the reviews here and on Nextdoor and finally made it here today. I ordered through Yelp for pick-up. There was a little hiccup there because I wasn't given a confirmation # that Madina had -- so that is on Yelp to figure out. My confirmation # was 8 digits and their confirmation was 4 digits. But I received my food at the promised time. Really prompt and friendly. I ordered everything VERY SPICY. And I wasn't disappointed. It was VERY SPICY but I loved every morsel of it. And I have a new respect for Chicken 65. I have never had pieces of chicken perfectly spiced and moist like this. It was much fresher...less fried....something...then what I have had before. With the rice and salad that mixed in really nicely. I also ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. Very very nice. I just sampled. Saving that for later. The naan. On point. We have ordered from Bombay Kitchen numerous times, as we are locals and wish to support our neighborhood small businesses. I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but yelp does not allow it. In any event, the tandoori chicken was always a stand out: plenty of chicken, plump, juicy and flavorful. However, the last time we ordered it, it was dry, bland and seemed to have been sitting around for quite some time. The vegetable curry is good, but had much standing oil on top of it. One of my favorite Indian dishes is palak paneer. Bombay Kitchen's version of it is different than I have had anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, for me, not in a good way. The flavor is okay, not as layered and spicy as I like it (even though I ask for it spicy), there is a ton of paneer in it, which is very good, but the spinach is runny, more like a soup. Very odd. I am used to the spinach being hearty and with substance. The vegetable samosas are outstanding. The service is excellent and the folks behind the counter are very friendly. We placed a carry out order for naan, lamb curry, and lamb briyani. We repeated the order, specifying lamb 4 times in all. At no time was goat mentioned by anyone. The briyani was all goat, and worse yet, nothing but bones with the meat shaved off, plus some other gristle and globs of fat. The "Lamb" curry included some chunks of goat as well, plus more bone and fat. In fairness, the rice, naan, and most of the lamb was edible. A one star rating for this place is generous. read more

I think, 4 and 5 star ratings are given by non Indian, non Pakistani and non Bangladeshi customers. I tried their lunch buffet 2 different times, several months apart. They deserve NO Stars, I wish Yelp would allow me to give them zero star. This used to be the old Bicycle Shop on the corner of Main Street and Lawrenceville Hwy in Tucker. It has been beautifully renovated and is very clean and modern. I talked to the owner today. He said they only use fresh food. Not frozen stuff! I enjoyed my Philly Cheese Steak and fries very much. However, next time I'll try the more mainline menu items as they looked great. Try this place for lunch or dinner. You should not be disappointed. I've lived in Tucker for awhile and this is a very nice addition. This is a cafe joined to a small market specializing in middle eastern type foods and items. The cafe itself is no frills, simple and clean. If you want ambiance, you are not going to find it here. That said, the lamb kebab and rice that I had was fantastic. The lamb itself was moist and flavorful. The rice was on point, it had bits of herbs and spices to make it a perfect companion to the meat. It came with a side of sliced grilled onions and bellpeppers and a "salad". Let's start with the "salad" it's in quotes, because it was diced tomatoes and cucumbers and a small tub of dressing. If you don't like cucumbers or tomatoes you are going to have a bad time. I only ate the cucumbers with the dressing and it tastes fine. The grilled onions and bell peppers were great. I only picked out the onions and left the peppers. Personal preference. I am not a fan of buffets in particular, but their lunch buffet is always on point. The food has always been fresh, the ingredients seem just right to me, the staff friendly and attentive. I love the butter chicken, naan, it's all good. Especially on a chilly winter day or in bad weather this will put some warmth in your belly and a smile on your face.
