Little bit of confusion on the takeout side of things (I ordered online) but after a few minutes they figured it out and we got the order. It was great! I had a small pizza, it wasnt the best ive ever had but it tasted much better then many of the generic commercial chains around. Just a simple pepperoni. I ate more then I should have! My girl had the spaghetti and meatballs. Again, not top shelf, but very worth the money. It was homestyle food that hit the spot. What more can you really want from a local Italian place? They have great deals, its good food, ive never felt unsatisfied. Ferlito's has been around seemingly forever and there a reason why. The prices are reasonable, the portions are good and the food is tasty. Add to that friendly service and you have a winning combination. It's a cozy but not loud dining room. The Shrimp Portifino is very rich. My husband loves the lasagna. It was the first time we have ever eaten at Ferlito's. It was a wonderful dinner. Despite the 20 minute wait for a table everything went smoothly. We did call for a reservation but couldn't make one for under 4 people. I think that should change. Our waiter was so busy but so competent. He was hopping from table to table and efficiently ordering and delivering food. We ordered both the Chicken Joseph and lasagne. What great choices. Both were delicious. We ordered catering for an office lunch and we will now be ordering frequently! It was so delicious, hot and fresh. The salmon was the best cooked salmon I've ever had as far as catering goes - perfectly moist and flavorful with a lemony dill sauce. The chicken marsala was also perfect, and the penne with meat sauce had lots of meaty flavor and the pasta wasn't too soft. The antipasto salad was great and they make their own dressings - including the "good" ranch. Lastly, but definitely not least, the cannoli were so good. Crispy shell, perfectly creamy filling with a cinnamon/chocolate flavor, and the perfect size for a party - not too big. Excellent customer service and delivered perfectly on-time. We've been on a streak of finding good restaurants lately, and this is one of them! We arrived at a weird time, an early dinner/late lunch time on a Saturday. My husband's working odd hours at work and it shows in our eating habits. They had just opened for the day and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were cheerfully greeted and seated. Service was all-around friendly and pleasant. They still had the winter drink specials up and they modified one of the gin specials with rosemary infused simple syrup to be made with vodka for me. It was delicious and I had two. They mostly use local Detroit-based liquors in the bar, which I think is notable and I totally appreciate it. Menu had anything Italian that you would want, however there were a few additional options that I don't see at very many other Italian restaurants. One of those was the addition of a dollop of burrata cheese with the pasta, which I wasn't familiar with so I asked the server. She gave a great description and after I ordered she brought me over her own personal plate so I could see what it would be like. It was quite yummy. I like Ferlito and bring friends here often. Food is always good but it's lacking some of the extras that other Italian style restaurants have. For example a salad is extra, really why not just offer a small house salad instead of making someone order a salad that's what to big for the bowl. I would bring more friends but it's that little extra thing that's missing. I don't need a I'm lasagna that could feed a small family. I do love their veal scallopini, best anywhere. I ordered delivery from Ferlito's, during Covid-19. The delivery was quick and easy, and the order was correct. The food was excellent. I ordered the shrimp portofino, which came with a side salad (I chose Italian dressing) as well as a side of Garlic bread. The shrimp portofino was amazing. The shrimp were nice and tender, and there were whole cloves of delicious, sweet roasted garlic in it. I highly recommend it. The side salad wasn't anything special, but it was cold and fresh. The Garlic bread was great. It was toasted perfectly so it had great texture, and had an ideal amount of garlic and butter on it. Would highly recommend Ferlito's and will order from them again. read more

I used to come here all the time as a kid and had continued to until a few years ago. There was a dramatic drop-off in quality and service, which is unfortunate. The food is still decently good, but the price has risen beyond reasonable and the service has fallen by the wayside. It used to have a real charm about the inside, but it's now modernized and cold. My mother really likes this place, she likes her Italian food, then again who doesn't like pasta. I try to not eat pasta or gluten too often, but every so often my mom gets a craving to come here. My parents eat here about once a month. My moms always gets their eggplant Parmesan. I usually get the spaghetti with marinara sauce and a side salad. My mother's eggplant has always been decent. My husband was [uncharacteristically] craving Italian and I love pasta so I asked him to pick between this restaurant and one other. He chose this restaurant. We were greeted cheerfully and sat quickly. Our server was busy but boisterous and efficient. My husband ordered chicken marsala and a gin drink with chartreuse in it and I ordered the basil pesto pasta with added sausage and a white wine. Mine came with tomato basil soup and his came with a side salad. The soup was hot and delicious and I dunked the complimentary bread in it and quite enjoyed it, but the actual entrée I got was quite disappointing. The sauce was quite watery so it didn't pack much flavor or stick to the noodles. I left most of it there. My husband finished his marsala, but mentioned that the one and only time I made this at home, it was better than the one he had here. This spot has plenty of amazing options to choose from. Indoor seating is cozy yet safe during the pandemic as booths have barriers between and staff are wearing masks. Weather was so nice wanted to find somewhere to eat outside. Great outdoor sitting area. They have 4 picnic tables in cute lighted space to enjoy. As for the food we ordered the eggplant Parmesan which I must say was very good with a side of pasta. Marinara sauce had a nice sweetness to it. Chicken Marsala was truly divine. It was my first time here and what an enjoyable experience. Our waitress Cassidy was both sweet and friendly while offering recommendations of most popular dishes as well as her favorite. I ordered her recommended Penne Paradiso off of the specials menu and it was phenomenal! My fiancé ordered the chicken siciliano which was delicious. Josh was patient with us as our party got to catching up and not looking at the menu. We decided on the brussel sprouts ( perfection), caprese salad with chicken (fresh and flavorful, chicken was moist and tender) and the BBQ chicken pizza ( no canned pineapple here). The chicken was again tender and the pieces were the perfect size, they didn't get lost. The pineapple slices were thin and complimented the sauce wonderfully. We walked in and told the hostess we had a reservation for 2. She stormed over to the table, threw down the menus, and walked away without saying a word. It was unpleasant to say the least. An employee came to our table 3-4 times to deliver bread (cold) and water. I asked her each time if she could take our order because we were starving. She said we had to wait for our "waitress". Another group of 6 came in and our waitress immediately took their orders (despite not even coming to our table to introduce herself). At this point, I'm looking for other restaurants in the area when she finally makes her way to our table. Note, we had been seated for 30 minutes. The food was the worst pasta I've ever had in my life. I ended up cradling a toilet throwing up for hours after this experience. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. Maybe the hostess was overwhelmed. Maybe our waitress was new. Maybe the chef was having an off night. Either way, too many things went wrong and we will never be returning here. read more

I travel a lot and I find that most American Italian restaurants charge a lot but for no reason. I LOVE that Ferlito's actually makes their pasta in house. The size of the ravioli was beautiful. The meatballs and sausage were tender. My critiques are the same as most: season the food! I don't know if they salt their pasta water but it doesn't taste like it. The Alfredo sauce was beautiful and rich... tasted very milk forward. It BEGGED for salt, garlic and herbs. The soup was too salty. Like others have mentioned as well, everything is good enough and made in house so that makes the price worth it for me personally. It would give other Italian restaurants in this area a run for their money just for making the pasta alone but in order to really be what it could be, they need someone that knows how to season food. All in all, I would order from them before I ordered from other well known Italian spots in the area. I would just have my seasonings on a stand by. read more

I have worked down the street from this restaurant for over 2 years and had never had their food. I have obviously been missing out on phenomenal food. I had a 1/2 lb. burger with grilled onions, bacon and gruyere cheese. BEST BURGER I HAVE EATEN SINCE I HAVE BEEN HERE IN GROSSE POINTE. The meat mixture is the key. I love Ferlitos! Don't get there as often as I'd like to but every time I go the food is great! I always get a tray of lasagna at Christmas.
