DELICIOUS! We stopped on the way to my in laws and were so pleased with everything! Best falafel I have ever had--warm, crisp, and not at all greasy. The hummus, grape leaves, and feta salad, and beef chili were wonderful as well. The owner was so warm and hospitable and made everything from scratch in front of you (big tasty portions!). There's a true (edible) gem in the last place you'd ever think of looking; the back end of the main floor of a nondescript office building on Wolfe Road. This simple walk-thru restaurant looks basic; the food is not. Lunch was surprisingly delicious and fresh and plentiful. The bent here is toward Egyptian food, but even a basic salad sparkles with flavor - the lettuce crisp, the tomatoes fresh, the dressing rich. You could choose the most basic of lunches here - grilled cheese or macaroni salad, for example - but you'll do yourself a major favor by sampling the middle-eastern fare. Koshari (an Egyptian staple of rice, lentils, macaroni, and browned onions topped with a rich tomato sauce. And be sure to add the amazingly good stuffed grape leaves or the best falafel I've ever tasted. The decor is nothing to write home about, I just grab my food and go back to the office, but there are spots to sit down. One thing that stood out to me was the rapport with the other customers, I heard things like, "see you tomorrow" and, "I owed you for that yesterday so keep the extra change." I was stranded in Albany for 2 hours after because of a work travel plan mix up, and was pleasantly surprised to find a family run business in a see of chains. They're Egyptian food is very tasty and reasonably priced. They also gave me a generous sample of one of their specials. One more sample and I wouldn't have needed to order my falafel platter. I was looking for a place to have lunch with my mom around Wolf Rd that wasn't one of the multitude of chains. I found Rich S's review and I have to agree. This is a hidden gem!! You would never know there was an eatery inside this office building. We were warmly welcomed by the family running this small restaurant. They have a special of the day written on a white board. Today's was a Gyro but we both decided to go with the Grilled chicken feta platter. Wow, was that a lot of good food!! It consisted of a brown rice mix with cranberries and almonds, salad with a choice of all kinds of vegetables and dressing, chicken with Taziki sauce, their house specialty feta salad and bread. Most importantly it was delicious!! We had plenty of leftovers to take home too. The owners engaged us in conversation. When they found out it was our first visit they brought us complimentary bowls of the day's soup. The soup was beef barley and provided my mom with that nights dinner. They also have all kinds of deli sandwiches and apparently serve breakfast too. To top it off the prices are some of the best around for the quality food that you get. What a phenomenal little cafe! I come here any time Inahve to be in the area. I've only ever gotten one thing which is the falafel platter. It is HIGE, you will be eating for days. The falafels look more like flat little UFOs instea did meatballs and they are cooked fresh to order and they taste amazing, very moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Everything you could want in a falafel! Served over a bed of greens with their homemade feta blend, hummus, baba, just the works. And it's only $9, so ridiculous. The owner and her husband are the nicest people and staff the cafe themselves. It is located inside of the NBT bank building on Wolf Road. Walk to the back of the chilling down the hallway to the right and you will find it. Have your nose lead the way, you can't miss it! What a little gem! Didn't realize it was inside the NBT bank building so I drove around the parking lot before deciding to go inside the building. Was I so glad I persisted. The ethnic food was the best I've tasted in the Capital District. Definitely home cooked with "love". While the cafe lacked ambiance, I would definitely go back for the wonderful "specialities" especially the stuffed grape leaves and falafel platter. Finding this place can be a little tricky - several reviews mention that it's within the office building and they're right. Park towards the back and walk in, you'll find the cafe. And trust me, you want to find this spot. We went for lunch on Friday 8/23/19. The falafel is very light and tastes absolutely delicious. The pita was very good. The hummus was very good and the feta mix was superb. The koshari was deeeelicious. The portions are huge for the price point and we're eating it for lunch the next day. We're coming back to try the other things on the menu and to get more of that falafel and koshari. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem. It's across the street from Trader Joe's in an office complex. You enter from the rear of the building. There are no signs outside saying this place is even there. Once you find it and try their delicious, well priced food, you'll be wanting to return to enjoy more of their flavorful items. They are open weekdays only, from 7am to 3pm. The chicken ala vodka pasta is fabulous! It's $6.95 for a generous portion. This isn't a low fat dish, but it's worth it. Koshari, the national dish of Egypt, is $6.95. Its a full container of food - brown rice, lentils, macaroni, browned onions, topped with spiced tomato sauce, garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions. I like this more than my husband does, but he still thinks it's very good. The grilled chicken feta platter is really tasty, and it comes with pita bread and a tasty side salad. This dish seems to be very healthy. Their tsaziki sauce comes with this, and they have very yummy tsaziki sauce. This dish is also $6.95. They have other items, but we haven't tried them yet because we keep getting the chicken ala vodka pasta and the grilled chicken feta platter every time we go because they are so good. We take it to go. It's a bit greasy smelling in there, but the food items we order aren't greasy. Our only complaint is that the chicken has been dry a couple of times, and the last time we went the chicken was really odd, it was strangely chewy; I couldn't eat it, but my husband managed.
