Can't believe I just heard of Mom & Pop's; clearly I've been living under a rock. This family owned business knows how to provide delicious food fast! It was obvious that there are MANY regulars (the owner was on a first name basis with everyone that walked in)-which I would be if I lived a smidge closer. Loved my Mediterranean omelette; the skillet got rave reviews (and a to-go box!). Picked up some cookies and struffoli (yaaassss Italian honey balls FTW!!) for a Christmas dinner I'll be attending..plus a couple of pieces of eggnog cake (which were insanely good...those won't make it to Xmas dinner). I'd like to go back again soon and try some other breakfast (or lunch) items. They close at 2pm and are currently open Monday-Friday (so I can only get there on a day off). The parking lot was very busy and there was a line at the front door, but they just do a bustling takeout service. We had NO WAIT for a table. The interior was tidy and clean. The menu is huge! It's like a diner...basically anything you might want, they probably have (for breakfast and lunch). I chose the turkey club. I had an option to have it with chips or a side salad. The sandwich was big, and I had to eat the sections in mini-sections! It was very good. I can't wait to come back! I felt that the prices were very reasonable. read more

Was the most discussed breakfast we've ever had. Asked for eggs over medium cams out fried asked for has crispy and was still like dog food. The hash was supposed to be homemade but it was canned there's no way you can cut potatoes that small and uniform that way along with the corned beef mushy. I have been procrastinating to get to this place for a long time now and I finally made it!! I wanted to cone here with someone special but they didn't like the ambience in the place amd kept me away. Though this special person finally wanted to get here, we vanished from each other's lives. Though some treasured relationships disappear, Mom's and pops cafe still stands, where "great food, family, and friends come together". We ordered Andes mint chocolate pancake and Mediterranean omlette. I'm not a big fan of pancakes and this pancake was excellent. The place has a big menu and the prices are reasonable. I was here new years eve and they were closed for vacation. I sent them a message on Facebook and got a reply instantly. I'll probably be here again to try more tasty food. read more

I've stopped here before to pick up to-go orders for other people, but never tried anything myself. I'd heard that the turkey sandwiches were very good. In fact, I found out today that they are excellent. They are now tied for my favorite location for a turkey sandwich. Yes, they use fresh roasted turkey, and my normal configuration is to add lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese, and mayo on whole wheat bread. That comes to about $11 with the additions and house-made chips or salad of the day are included. The turkey is thinly sliced and fresh. The wheat bread is soft and flavorful. And speaking of flavorful, the bacon is not only crisp, but has a nice strong smoked flavor. I just wish they were open later so I didn't have to buy my dinner at lunch time. read more

The charcuterie wow--figs flown in just for us the day before from California, the best of charcuterie meats, I mean the absolute best---amazing olives. Eggplant and peppers I want to bottle and order a case. The Italian and other cheeses---all of the highest level. A large salad bar with everything you could possibly want. Two kinds of pastas, chef prepared in front of you by the owner and his son. chicken piccata, lot of capers and lemons just the way we want it. And brisket. Crusty rolls, freshly sliced italian bread. Everything the bride and groom chose but they had so many more options. Here's the big surprise, you don't have to look any further for an excellent bakery cause chef co-owner in this husband and wife family operation, is a master baker. Stopped by here a couple of weeks ago for breakfast, believe it's my first visit here under new management. They weren't too busy so seating wasn't a problem, coffee and water was served quickly, ended up ordering the Big Boy Breakfast, 3 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon, sausage, homefries and toast. A good chance to sample a few things without ordering on the side. The food didn't take long to come out and the portions were good for the price. While I was there, a steady stream of customers came in, some for to go orders, others to eat in, so that's a good sign. It's a small place and easy to miss but worth the stop if you're ever looking for a bite to eat. Will have to make a return visit for lunch someday soon. read more

I've even here many times when my business has brought me to Ballston Spa. Food is terrific and the service is absolutely fantastic. I have stopped in to Mom and Pop's a couple of times and have always enjoyed my lunch. It is right next to Curtis Lumber on Route 67. Plenty of parking. It is a small place with a limited menu. Because it's so small, the service is good. You never have to wonder where your server is because everything is in plain sight. For lunch they have subs, specials, and wraps. Not an extensive menu. I have never had breakfast there. Roast beef sub with cheese and horseradish is fantastic. Potato chips are large thick dry ones that I don't like and won't get again. Corn chowder is really water based corn soup - you might want to try something else. If you're in the area, Mom and Pop's is good place for lunch. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch before traveling. I found the prices to be good and the facility itself is in top condition and clean. These are the kind of folks that will remember you after a few stops in. My quesadilla was served piping hot with salsa and sour cream, cooked to the perfect texture. The fresh fried potato chips were a welcome surprise, some chewy and some crispy, not too salty. Overall good for the price. The inside is a bit small, Not many can fit in there, but it does look nice and it's certainly not your typical Diner style. The food itself is ok, It's not bad but it's not great either. The prices are a bit much in my opinion. $1.75 for 2 pieces of bacon, $1.75 for a bit of Nutella on your pancakes. Heck, For 3-4 bucks I could get a full thing of bacon and Nutella at the store. I mean if you are going to run a diner at least charge reasonable prices you know. I hate over-paying for a meal that is so-so at beast. So overall, while it is not a bad place, it's certainly not one that I will be visiting again. read more
