We were seated right away and our waiter was Jeremiah who couldn't be more pleasant. I had tea (they brought out a mini teapot) and my husband had coffee (they came around for refills). I chose to have the Crème Brûlée French toast which was one of the specials. It was good and not too too sweet (but still quite filling). My husband opted for the Vegetarian omelette which came with toast and potatoes (or grits). He said his omelette was fabulous and would be a redo. We will definitely be back!

Sadly, the Taylor ham was beyond burnt which is why I deducted one star as this isn't a cheap spot and I would expect better. We drove and parked in the lot which was $3.90/hour. The snapper was obviously meant for two people because of the amount of rice and vegetables they included with the snapper. It was excellent. The grouper came in some type of coconut sauce, which was amazing. We were dipping our snapper in the sauce for the grouper. If I was to make any type of recommendation, I would recommend adding a side of this sauce to the snapper and that would just make it a perfect dish I had a watermelon Mojito. The drinks here are ridiculously expensive at $17 a cocktail. And it's not like they come in a huge glass. They come in a regular wine glass. They do say that all the ingredients are natural and nothing is artificial, so maybe it's worth it to pay that much to not have a bunch of junk in your drinks. The service was slow. Although friendly. When we arrived, there was not that many people eating so I was surprised when after 30 minutes we still had not gotten the cocktails. Our waiter said it was because there was only one bartender and he was 15 minutes behind on his orders. I find this pretty amazing that a restaurant like Benny's cannot hire more than one bartender so that the people who come and pay what is not really a moderate amount but pretty expensive for their entrées, but still have to wait 20 minutes to get their drinks. It was only for this that I took off a star. When I order a cocktail, I like it brought out within five minutes and not to drink during my dinner. Dinner was also very slow and we got our entrées about 45 minutes after our order. But all in all, it was an amazing experience and we will be back.

That part hasn't changed at all, and I really appreciate that. What has changed, unfortunately, is the food. The egg rolls used to be packed with flavor, hot, crispy, and fresh every time. Lately though, they've been bland, a little greasy, and just not what they used to be. Even the sauces taste different. You can tell something's off, whether it's the ingredients or the prep. It's disappointing because you can see the potential is still there -- the place is clean, the team works hard, and the presentation is still solid. I chose the Howard's BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich and my wife and I shared some BBQ Beans. My pulled pork sandwich was a generous pile of tender pulled pork between two slices of white bread. I chose the tangy sweet BBQ sauce for my meat. Delicious and satisfying. Howard even stepped out to see how we were enjoying our meals. The packaging dims the smell but I drive home eager to get into my crawfish. I ordered pound of crawfish, juicy special medium that includes corn and potato. I got pound of crawfish, garlic lemon pepper butter, something milder than medium, two eggs, potato, and corn. All good just no heat. (For some reason only a much older receipt is attached to review.) That order was perfect, the costumer service was horrendous. Service not great now but it shows improvement.
