So my friend and I planned an impromptu lunch after Fourth of July, so today July 5 we walked out to Benny's on the beach. It looked like a nice spot really cool the ambience of being next to the beach and having food. But the surprise was when we had our food Terrible. Like I have never had or I've never encountered this situation when I don't wanna eat anything because it doesn't taste like anything. We ordered the fried snapper and unfortunately it was old. It wasn't crunchy. It was unseasoned, no flavor. It was really really bland. When the server came after the two minutes, we told him like" this is not for us to finish it like literally we didn't even eat anything and unfortunately I don't know why ( since I'm a server, anytime somebody says something is bad and I clearly see they didn't eat it, i take it off the check.) the server didn't take it out of the check. He charged us for this really bad snapper. We didn't ask him to it, but he could've at least asked his manager to approach the table or something. No nothing just oh sorry. when we clearly barely ate something from that fish.. Will never return to this place unfortunately it's not worth the hype or even the bother of driving there read more

My husband and I came for a late breakfast at 11:10. Unfortunately they had a hard stop on their breakfast menu at 11am which was perfectly fine but I was just wanting the plain French toast. I opted to get their stuffed berry French toast (I just didn't need that big of a portion or even more calories than the plain). That said, it was absolutely delicious. I had an iced latte on the side which was also very good. My husband got the Jersey boy special (Taylor ham, egg, and cheese) which came with fries. Sadly, the Taylor ham was beyond burnt which is why I deducted one star as this isn't a cheap spot and I would expect better. We drove and parked in the lot which was $3.90/hour. We ordered a fried seafood platter to share. We live in a landlocked state so it was great to get some fresh seafood. It's pricey, but was worth it. Parking can also be tough to find. Had a wonderful date night at Benny's on the Beach. Their location is prime. No matter where you're seated, a beach view is guaranteed! I was hoping for a table on the pier itself but I didn't specify in my reservation. Either way, we enjoyed a great meal with an ocean view. Food was fresh and delicious. The shrimp ceviche was deliciously spicy and I loved that the chips were seasoned, adding extra flavor to each bite. My favorite was the Palm Beach Shrimp Taco. Topped with pineapple, relish and goat cheese, my taste buds were loving it! A must try drink is the watermelon martini. Made with Tito's vodka and garnished with a juicy slice of watermelon. After dinner we watched the sunset on the pier. Benny's change $1 per person to access their pier but it's so worth it. The pier seemed to be a popular spot for fishing as there were a lot of families casting lines into the ocean. It was a beautiful evening at Benny's. read more

Be prepared to wait... we put our names on the list for both location due to the hour wait for a party of 6. This is expected with spring break so we hung out on the pier. You do have to pay for parking as well. Service was good. Our server was attentive and offered suggestions. We ordered calamari, which was hot but kind of thick cut and was hard to chew. For dinner we also shared the captions platter. It wasn't my favorite but that's on me. Something with the batter on the food and the taste of the fish wasn't it. This was my first time experiencing Benny's for dinner. The menu isn't as big but they have enough items for any food preference. They told us an hour wait for a party of 6 with no reservations but it only ended up being about 30 min. We hung out on the pier. Once we were seated we had an outside high top. The food was delicious and the drinks were made very well. I had the Benny's boil. It was very good. I asked for extra seasoning because the pics I saw looked pretty bland. With the extra seasoning, it was the best seafood boil I ever had! Very fresh and flavorful. Two cons: the mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 6 and they don't allow you to get separate checks. My partner took his Porche out for a ride, and we ended up here at Benny's. Unfortunately, it was on a Saturday and the place was packed, However, Benny's is located on a pier so the views of the beach areas and ocean are great. We had reservations, but they seemed uninterested in that and told us to sit at the bar. We did, had a few drinks and a New England Lobster Roll. The best I can say for the food and the drinks is OK. Nothing I would return for. The patio bar had live music but way, way too loud. No way one could have a conversation with it going on. Benny's does not have its own parking, so you're stuck competing for space with all of the beach goers. You can never go wrong here ever. I mean who doesn't come here feeling happy. The atmosphere, smelling of the ocean, the wind, well made drinks, seafood and music. Love coming on the weekends where there's music. The beach is right there, so you can go swimming and come back up for a bite and drinks. Benny's on The Beach is a one of it's kind shack on the pier to bring out of towners to soak in the SoFlo experience. My first time here -- it was an unusual high tide with the pier being closed. The intracoastal was flooding onto A1A a few miles south. This gave it a certain charm -- I felt like we were dining ON the ocean with waves crashing in directly below us. I started the experience right with a Bloody Mary on a Sunday at 12pm. The mahi mahi tacos were meaty and flavorful with lime and a side of rice. I finished off with a Copperpoint lager, a local brew from Boynton Beach. This would be an ideal spot to finish up a day at the beach. Awesome experience. I felt like I was in the Keys. read more

The food was on the "very good" side but the chicken was our "low point" but still good. The comment I got from the dinner it's like good chicken nuggets. The 4 stars are for the " great by the beach atmosphere location with view of the sea!". This includes customer service from the staff who walked us to our table, the waiter, the server: all above and beyond service! This is not a fine dining establishment so don't expect great food. My partner and I ordered the Captain's Platter to share: fries were good, hush puppies too sweet, fish was ok but the clam strips were fried too much, way too dry. A while back I had them and they were much better. More seasonings are needed; a little bit more attention to flavors is much needed. Hope those adjustments will be made as I'd like to return. Came here a couple times for brunch. Once on a Saturday morning and another time on a Monday morning. It was obviously busy on the Saturday but we were seated sooner than our 30 min wait. On the Monday morning, we were seated immediately. The views are amazing. There is an upstairs indoor seating area if you didn't want to sit outside. The food itself is really good. I had a chicken and waffles and it was pretty basic. Nothing extraordinary. Another time I got the poached eggs and the French toast and the French toast was one of the best I've ever had! There is limited parking right in front of the restaurant but there's a larger lot down the hill and a longer walking distance. All parking is paid parking- no free parking. There's a little plaza and walking path also right across the street. Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

After looking at some of the other reviews, I was expecting mediocre food and service, but it was honestly a great experience. Had a first date, and we got a spot right at the edge of the pier outside and had a flawlessly executed performance. The staff was the perfect balance of attentive and not overbearing, the food came out at an above average pace, and the food was solid. Hands down the best part of the meal was actually the grits -- I went right through the side (had been thinking about getting fruit to be healthier but I'm glad I didn't cause the grits were amazing) The California eggs Benedict I had was pretty good. I wouldn't rave about it like it's the best thing I've ever had, but it was an all around good meal. Had an iced cappuccino which was actually a nice change up and as a coffee fan I did enjoy that a lot. Honestly I think if this had been turned into a sandwich instead of open face on a croissant, maybe add a little ketchup, this could be a stellar breakfast sandy, but either way the price was reasonable and food was good, and I would definitely go back. My wife and I are locals and have been coming here for around 6 years when we relocated from Central Florida. We often bring our puppy, Lisa and have brought other dogs with us over the years...including my 18 year old dachshund who was served his last meal at Benny's, with a view of the ocean. That being said, on 5/20/26 we went here for breakfast and had our puppy, Lisa with us. We were asked if she was a service animal and I said no. We have never been asked this before and have taken dogs here at least a dozen times over the years, plus all the visits without the dogs. We were told that we could not be seated because dogs are not allowed. I asked for manager and then I saw a lady with blonde hair a sleeve tattoo walk by that I knew was a manager from my previous visits and spoke with her. I told her what happened and she also stated that non service animals are not allowed. I then asked when the policy changed as we were locals and have been coming for years with our dogs...her not listening said, "oh, it's been like this for two years". I said that was not true and referenced my 8 month old puppy who has been there at least 2-3 times and I just got a blank stare. I mentioned the nice waiter who has a mustache and looks like a fireman who always brings by water for my dogs. She was dismissive, didn't believe me...so here are the pics of my dogs at Benny's over the years. My wife is a Senior Executive in Luxury Hospitality and we are very local. She was shocked at how we were treated and the lie that the manager threw our way and continued to repeat. We will be sure to discuss this experience with local dog groups we belong to, friends, family as well as potential visitors. We were looked down on, dismissed and lied to. This was our favorite breakfast place. I left an amazing review for OceanWalk (their other restaurant for those that don't know) a little while back raving on the new menu, even though some of my favorite items were gone. I'm just shocked as a LOYAL, local patron to be lied to like this. If the policy changed 2 months ago due to an incident, I get it and that's that. Food is just ok- I think you need to know what to order here. Location, ambience and service is great! Clean and cute restaurant. Stick to basics and you might have a good meal. We had the corned beef skillet and it was ok- not much flavor and I tend to prefer the corned beef chopped up finely. They either bake their own bread or order fresh- it good- the whole grain was better than the white (which I think was sourdough?). The pancakes were horrible- they looked great but were dense and had a strange flavor- not your standard buttermilk fluffy pancakes, at all. Those were very disappointing. I would try this place again but stick to eggs and breakfast meat or the French toast. It's a cool place on the beach, on the pier and worth trying once but stay away from those pancakes. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. The front desk was a complete disaster. The place was practically empty, yet the hostess, "Isabel," either had no idea how to use their system or was deliberately trying to turn customers away. We were told (party of 2) there would be a 1.5-hour wait, which made zero sense given the abundance of open tables--including visible seating upstairs. Out of curiosity, we checked OpenTable right there and found multiple available reservations within minutes. We booked one for 10 minutes later, walked back up, and suddenly--after "confirming" with Isabel--it was magically fine for us to be seated. So which is it? No availability, or plenty of availability? This kind of inconsistency screams either incompetence or intentional gatekeeping, and neither is acceptable. First impressions matter, and this was about as bad as it gets. If this is how the front of house operates, it's hard to trust anything else about the place. Place looks dirty and smells fishy.
