Super super cheap and once was amazing. I'll break the review into two sections: Shoes and Handbags Shoes, I've always been pleased. Replacing boot soles, heel pegs, or general boot maintenance. They've done a 5/5 job. Handbags, here's where we run into issues. Took them a Saint Laurent black bag that needed some polish And a good clean. Unfortunately, they polished with black straight over the logo and left the bag in a "will stain all clothing" condition. I had to clean it myself and take the bag to another more specialized handbag service shop in phoenix. Would just say that this is not their forte and you should look elsewhere, don't cut corners with luxury items. 2/5. Service is a little rough around the edges. Sometimes, there's no one in the shop and you have to fetch someone from the neighboring dry cleaners. Everyone's been very nice but I do sense that there's not a lot of communication when you drop off your item to what is being requested. read more

Spend the money and go elsewhere. They damaged my vintage Louis Vuitton tote and my brand new Tory Burch sandals. Black oil smears all over them because they were handled by the repairman with dirty hands. $500 worth of damage and it looks like I'll be filing a Small Claims suit. read more

This used to be an amazing place until it was sold. I went there for years and years and I was always happy. Do not ever take your shoes here. EVER!! They charged me $72 to wrap my heels, not new heels, mind you!! THREE months!! I finally called and they were not finished. I called and the woman there began to scream at me (she was on speaker so others heard her). When my husband picked them up, unfixed, she tried to tell him I was rude to her. That was not true because he was listening to the conversation. I now have my unfixed shoes back. She tried to blame me for their issues but she got busted. Stay away from this place. So disappointed!!! I read the reviews and thought I was taking my mums shoes to the right repair company... I couldn't have been more wrong. It was a simple fix. My mum bought a brand new pair of sandals- cost about $200. She doesn't have that kind of money but was given a gift and decided to spoil herself. The sandals were a gladiator style but had a thong(between the big toe and 2nd toe- like flip flops) that hurt when she first tried them on. Not wanting to return them I suggested we take them to a repair company and have the thong snipped off. I even snipped one off to make sure it would still look right. All they had to do was snip the other ONE off, add a COUPLE stitches so the snipped end didn't fray and add a new insole so you couldn't see the hole where the thong was. Literally- one snip, 4 stitches to each and glue a new insole to cover the hole. I was quoted $48 and was promised the girl who did that type of repair would contact me in two days to go over my request. I NEVER received a call- waited a week just in case she was busy, then I had to call her. I was told she would call me back later- this time she did. I went over the three easy steps I had explained when I dropped them off. I was assured it would be done in about a week and they would contact me when I could pick them up. They verified my number for the call. I was on vacation when I was told I would get a call so I left the ticket and $$ with my daughter. They never called. When I returned home I instantly had to help a family friend move and thought they probably needed a little more time- so thought nothing of it. When I returned home again- I still had not heard from them. They were quoted to be done early September and it was now the 26th of September. I called and was told they were done- no explanation on the extra 3 weeks and why I wasn't called. I immediately went to get them and when I arrived I was shocked at the hack job they did. My youngest daughter could have done better. Sure they snipped the one thong and they did the 4 stitches but the didn't add a new insole- they didn't even add a half one. The hole was covered with what looked like a poorly cut sticker or bandaid. There was smudged glue around the stickers and it was raised above the original insole- which was sure to feel like a huge hump. Seriously, they couldn't even have cut the sticker to cover just the top half of the insole- even then I would have been happy. When I asked what happened the girl explained I only asked for the snip and the stitches and it would be another $25 for new insoles glued in. But I DID ask for the insoles- When I cut the 1st thong I could easily see there would be a hole .. I know for a fact I asked.. why would I agree to pay $48 for one snip and 8 stitches??? I knew I was really paying for the insoles. I asked if they would at least guarantee the stickers wouldn't fall off- she simply said- "No", they couldn't guarantee anything. There is no exaggeration in this review. I am a small business owner myself and am very understandable... this should have been simple. I never write negative reviews- but this situation left me no choice. Everyone should know how poor their communication is and the poor quality of work they will do for you. I took a pair of heels to this shop on 12/11/21 just to have my heel cap replaced. The clerk told me that it wouldn't be ready until 12/31/21. Okay, fine; I go in on 1/3/22 to pick up my shoes. When I walked in no one greeted me & I stood there for a few minutes then the young lady turned around and I said, "Hi". No one at the shop said, "Hi", the lady told me my shoes were not ready because people were sick over the holiday. When I took the shoes in, she said that they only had someone once a week that comes in to work on shoes. I walked out to my car & thought about it & decided I need to get my shoes and go somewhere else. When I went back inside and ask for a refund and my shoes another lady started yelling at me, (I was told she was the previous owner) telling me how many shoes were waiting to be repaired in front of me. WTF? I told this rude lady, "Don't be mad at me because your behind in repairs." Then this rude lady decided to tell me that how dare I walk into the shop and look down my nose at them & on & on. I just stood their & looked at her. This lady that used to be the owner has a serious problem. Apparently, she still must come in and repair shoes. She waited in her car until I left the store & then drove off. Lady you'd better be careful who you decide to go off on for no reason, one day you will pick the wrong person. AWFUL SERVICE!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I brought in my $200 pair of ugg boots to get a small grease stain out. The lady who works there and answer the phones, was rude from the very beginning and she did not make me feel comfortable or confident that she can get the stain out. I originally wanted to drop off the one shoe with a stain but she insisted I drop off the whole pair for a cleaning, for a total of $35. I asked about her experience and if she ever worked on ugg boots before (as I was very hesitant to drop off expensive boots), she said she was very good at cleaning suede shoes and I had nothing to worry about. She then made me pay half the price up front (which I thought was odd considering she said that most of it won't come out). She said it would be ready in a couple of days and she would call me. A couple of days passed, no call. So I called her, she said she hasn't even started on them but would be ready on the following Monday and she would call at the end of the day to give me an update on the stain (she never called with an update). Monday comes around, no call, Tuesday comes around, no call. And finally Wednesday and I decide to call, super fed up. She begins to raise her voice at me calling me "super inpatient" and that I call her too much. She was very unprofessional the entire time, never called with updates or anything like she said she was and my boots were never ready on the "estimated" time frame. She tells me she is no longer working on my boots and the stain never came out, she made my small stain somehow into two big stains and the whole boot is a completely different brown color than the other. I took my shoes in to get it a repair and I was given a date to pick them up I called on that date and they told me that there was an issue with the size but no one called me to let me know that before the day of pick up then they told me they would be ready on day that I was supposed to pick them up and I called and they were not ready and I was given a bunch of excuses and backtalk and never got a call telling me they weren't ready. I was flying to California on a Saturday this past March and decided at the last minute I wanted to take a pair of my boots. Unfortunately the heel on one of them needed to be replaced. I took them to Gwenneth's on the Thursday just before I left and ask if I could get them the next day. Well, she did one better. Took both boots, replaced both heels, polished them while I waited. I dropped off a pair of Clarks shoes with this shop to get new insoles..The woman who was there asked if I wanted memory foam insoles and I said yes. Shoes to be ready in two weeks. Went back to get them and the they could not find them. After searching they finally found them in a stack of shoes on a big rack. They had not been touched. Owner asked if I could come back the next day to get them. Went back to pick them up..pd $16. When I went to wear them discovered they did not have memory foam insoles but a cheap worthless insole..This place is a joke! read more

I have a vintage designer bag that was so precious to me, but it needed a bit of a clean. I'd previously taken my bag to another (nameless) Tucson business, which charged me a LOT of money, only to give me back my bag dirtier than I'd given it to them. I was so upset. I came across Bonanza Shoe Repair through word-of-mouth, and they did such a stunning job on polishing my boots, that I asked them if they could work the same magic on a leather vintage handbag of mine... hoping they would take on the challenge. Katy took on the challenge with such positivity and enthusiasm that I immediately knew my gorgeous bag was in safe hands. "Wow! Katy!" That's all I could say, a few weeks later, when I saw what an amazing job she'd done on my bag. It was immaculate. She took such care of it, she truly brought it back to life. I should have known better with all the bad reviews, but it's the closest shoe repair so I took three pairs of shoes in to have the heel caps replaced. I was quoted 12-15$ each. I even asked the worker to write that on my ticket. Three days later I get a call from the owner who said the total would be 59.00$. I argued that I was given a quote and they should honor that. She rudely said no. She said that her workers have no idea what things cost and that she can't always be there due to school and other demands. Like whatttt? Train your darn workers then, it was simple heel cap repair. Now I have to go and pick them up and take elsewhere, what a waste of time and energy. read more

I called them twice once late March hit and they told me they were working on my shoe and they'd call me and they never did. I didn't get my shoe back until April 11th. I brought some boots in that needed some adjustments. I spoke to a lovely gal, at length, about what I wanted. She sent me across town to purchase some buckles and I returned the following week to drop them off. Another gal was there but I spoke to the cobbler and thought all was well. Several weeks passed and I never received a call my boots were finished. I was finally able to get through on the phone and was promised they would be ready the on the 23rd or 24th or December. My boots had been there since the first week of November. I was promised a call to come pick them up. No call. So, today, Jan 4th, two months after dropping them off, only the new sole had been put on the boots. There is still glue on them. The alteration wasn't made. The buckles I drove across town to purchase were not out on. The gal behind the desk pointed to the sign stating "we can't promise any particular date for completion". I am not unreasonable. I wasn't expecting a tight turnaround. But, two months is a long time to not finish the work and expect payment for the uncompleted work. Further, I tried calling several times. They were obviously screening their calls and refusing to answer my calls. I have never written a bad review for anyone and am very cognisant that small businesses struggle. It is not my intent to harm a small business. But, this level of customer service, the lack of apology, the total lack of communication and overall customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. I have no doubt the cobbler does fine work. But, perhaps their system of keeping track of their work would benefit from someone else taking proper notes with due dates rather than using masking tape to randomly jot notes down and sticking it on the desk. read more

Took them 5 months to do my Stuart Weizmann boots. The 50/50 style boots are leather in the front and fabric on the calf. All they had to do was cut the fabric and sew back- much easier than cutting all leather boots. Instead they ruined the fabric when returned to me a whole season later (never got to wear my winter boots in winter). They didn't even say sorry and just admitted that they had a bad person working for them. No consolation on ruining $600 boots. They should have said they couldn't do a basic job more than their capability instead of ruining people's things unapologetically. read more

Took a pair of my fancy boots here recently to get cleaned up. They were pretty beat up and needed some serious TLC. Gwenneth's did a great job restoring them and now they look as good as new! Very friendly staff as well. My only complaint was the price. $18 to clean and polish a pair of boots is mighty steep in my books. I have gotten shoes and boots taken care of at much lower prices elsewhere. That said, this store is in a super convenient location and had great service. Brought a pair of Allen Edmonds in to get resoled after getting a recommendation from a friend. Was quoted $95 and 2 weeks to complete the work. The shoes were ready to go on the date that was agreed on and the work done was fantastic. The shoes looked brand new and the Vibram soles used are excellent quality.
