No. Go elsewhere. This business may have been here for years, but a simple glue job was sloppy and poorly done. And although he ended up not charging me, how could he have charged me when he gave me back the shoe with the leather piece ripped out. He ripped it out to show me he had glued it!! A nightmare. Don't take your nice fancy shoes to get the retapped here. He didn't do a great job. Taps are out if place and too roughly cut.

Pete couldn't repair my shoes but he gave me a great suggestion. My heels are narrow, so sometimes I can't keep my shoes on my heels. He suggested putting cotton balls in the toe of each shoe to push my feet back into the shoe. It worked! read more

The soles from an old pair of Merrell clogs were separating. Pete cleaned and glued them together and they are good as new. He had them done in one day, they looked good and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended. read more

I can't believe nobody has reviewed Pete's yet!! This place has been such a godsend for me. I wear high heels most days for work. I've been collecting a pile of heels that were only slightly worn, but the little "nubby" on the heel had worn down. Once they do that, you're screwed b/c they start slipping when you walk on them. I finally googled shoe repair and found Pete's! It's a convenient location - just west of downtown. It's easy to find and easy to park. Then the best part is that they will repair your heels within a day! I think the pricing is probably average (about $5 per nubby replacement). I've taken my entire pile now and couldn't be happier. I took my Men's Bostonian dress shoes to Pete because I didn't realize they made a loud tapping sound when I walked. Sounded like they were tap dance shoes. Pete told me he could repair the soles so they wouldn't make the sound and I left my shoes there for a few hours. I love places like this! Took my shoes there to get re-soled and they were far better than new when I got them back. He did a beautiful job and the shoes will last probably 5x longer than they originally did. The price to repair a pair of heel is $10+ tax, not $5 as the previous said. What I needed was just replaced the pad at the bottom of the heel, an easy work, but still $10. He said he would call me after he got it done, but he did not call at all. I picked this place because of the location, did not feel receive good service. read more
