Sunday and we parked in the street a block away since parking is free. Not sure what you would do during week as I didn't see a lot of parking lots but assume there has to be some. Plenty of tables and bar area is large. Place was clean and looks modern. I order a bibimbap bowl with bulgogi. Very good and filling. Love how the rice gets crispy at the sides and bottom. My group also ordered some pork belly and fried chicken. Everything tasted great. Service was good overall, staff was friendly and welcoming. Our drink order seemed to come quick but the food took a little longer than expected since it didn't feel like the place was very busy. When we placed our order there was maybe 4 other tables of guest and 1 more came in after we placed our order. Over all very good experience and service was good and food was excellent.

Large portions! The drumsticks were like mini turkey drumsticks. I ate two and was stuffed. Very tasty and cooked well. Authentic kimchi and definitely fusion food. Staff was friendly, service was fast and place was clean.

This wasn't my typical after the game spot. But No reservations were needed and we were hungry. We ordered soy garlic thirty piece wings, ten piece spicy wings, seafood fried rice, fried zucchini, popcorn shrimp, lemon drops and French 75. My expectations weren't high but I was blown away with flavors of the food. Saucy wings but still have that crunch!!! I love a good chicken wing. Wait staff was very attentive and we just had a good overall time. (Side note) them spicy wings are hot as hell!!!!!!! lol but good if you can stand the heat.

Great spot if you're in the mood for a well balanced chicken "Wing!" I love that you can choose flats, drums or a mix. I'm a drumstick girl and these do not disappoint! A small is 5 wings and that was really enough for 2 meals. I went with the newer spicy sauce which was spicy enough without being overwhelming. I snagged some fries on HH to complete the meal. I paired my fries with spicy mayo which was not wrong! HH - m-f 4-6 with limited options (see pic) with weekday drink specials in addition to the standard hh option. I ubered to that area so not quite sure about the parking sitch. Plenty of inside seating with quite a few tvs at the bar to catch a game (or two)! Service was quite mid -- had a hard time getting them to come back by but I came for the chicken! Overall bonchon has been around the Houston area for a bit with multiple locations. Pick the nearest one and try it out!

My new husband and I just got married yesterday and went into Bonchon to watch the Texans game and have a few drinks. Our server Alexa and manager Nick were beyond amazing! Awesome energy in the restaurant and the bulgogi fries were 10/10. We honestly are thinking about coming back again for dinner. Highly recommend!!!

For starters, the interior was not what I expected for a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Looked just like an American sports bar lol. Not a big deal, just funny. It's much bigger than expected and there's plenty of seating. The service was good. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. She was also working at the cash register doing to go orders. I liked that she checked up on us regularly despite how busy she was. As for the food, it was ok. Not bad but nothing great. The wings had a nice amount of sauce on it. I liked that it wasn't too heavy. The Korean tacos were big and filling. It tasted good with the picked daikon radish. The japchae wasn't bad but barely had any meat.

If you've been to a Bonchon before you kinda know what to expect. This specific location being in midtown was a bit surprising to me, but I'm glad we have another KFC option nearby. I've ordered pick up here before but first time dining in. First things first parking could be a pain here. There's plenty of paid street parking but could be challenging depending on the time of day you come. There is also a garage for this building but not sure if it's paid or not. We walked in coming from a rockets game. We noticed half of the store had seats on the table indicating they're not available. There were a few tables with people in it and three or four dirty tables - felt kinda awkward walking in at first and to be honest we almost walked out. When we sat down our server greeted us a few minutes later - she was polite and friendly which was a reassuring sign. We ordered the 6 pc wing + 3 drum combo half and half. This is basically what we always get with a side of fries and the free radish. The quality and flavor of the chicken was on par with other bonchons. The place also started getting packed as we were there and it was 11 pm - probably normal for being in midtown. Overall, the location is decent. There's definitely some concern for homeless people walking around and in the restaurant (one walked in and quickly walked out while we were eating), but that comes with the area. They could also probably add a few more people to help clean tables, but otherwise not a bad visit.

A friend of mine ordered Bonchon for us last night for dinner. I believe we got a combo of wings and drumsticks with a side of the fried rice. The two flavors that we got were spicy and I believe a garlic which were both pretty good but I don't feel like the spicy was spicy at all. I enjoyed the fried rice as well. I honestly think this may have been my first time trying Korean fried chicken and it wasn't a bad experience.

Classic fried chicken with Korean sauces My friends and I shared a large combo of bone in wings and legs with the garlic sauce and Korean BBQ sauce mix, definitely enough for 4 people! Comes with a side of slaw and a tub of ranch Prices weren't too bad for what you get but to be honest it's just fried chicken, I had to stop eating after 3 pieces because it became too greasy but I think if you like eating fried chicken you'd get your moneys worth. Their spicy wings are *definitely* spicy, it builds. I had one from another friends plate and could only handle one, if you love spicy this could be for you. Inside style was your average bar design, service was okay they only had one person working and we had a lot of people so it was understandably slower. I'd come back to try their happy hour but probably wouldn't crave this again anytime soon.

    The location

This was poor customer service from the manager to the waitress. The waitress took care of folk that came in after me because I was on my phone. No excuse. I came there solo knowing exactly what I wanted. No offering of my drinks or anything. The customer service was horrible and Greg the manager upheld the behavior. They also have had animals in there and they were not Service Dogs. I was so displeased with this atmosphere. I'll most likely will never go there again.

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. I arrived about 20 minutes before opening and had to wait outside in Houston's summer heat 93'F. While there are a few benches, there is very little shade, and guests are not allowed to wait inside. When the restaurant opened, there was no clear system for seating guests. Even though I was first in line, several people rushed in ahead of me, making the process feel disorganized. The biggest issue involved a $300 gift card that my friend had received years ago. She simply asked the staff to check the balance. When the server returned, he told us the manager had cut the card in half and that the entire balance had to be used during that visit. What bothered me was the lack of communication. We were never informed of the policy before the card was invalidated. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be explained clearly beforehand. As two ladies having lunch, spending $300 was difficult, so we ended up ordering far more food than we normally would. The sashimi was fresh but cut thinly than what I've had at comparable restaurants. The hamachi kama, chirashi, and lobster mac and cheese were good. The green tea soufflé cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. For $10, it consisted of three very small cubes and felt overpriced. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and professional, which helped salvage the experience. However, between the uncomfortable wait outside, the chaotic seating process, and the poor handling of the gift card, this visit did not live up to my previous experiences. While I have many good memories of Kata Robata, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

I was surprised you could make reservations for happy hour, but I was still able to walk in and find a seat at the bar without much issue. I ordered a mix of items from the happy hour menu and was impressed by the variety and how reasonable the prices were for the quality. Portions are on the smaller side, but that's expected for a higher-end sushi spot. I especially enjoyed the different sauces and soy variations that came with each dish--it really elevated everything. I tried the tuna, hamachi, fried tempura-style fish, handrolls, and nigiri. The hand rolls were the only miss for me; the filling-to-rice ratio felt a bit off and the seaweed was on the chewier side. To finish, I had the fried milk ice cream dessert (not part of happy hour), and it was honestly one of the best restaurant desserts I've had in a long time. Overall, happy hour is a great way to try a wide range of dishes--both hot and cold--and explore more than just raw fish. With Sichuan cuisine though, a lot of the food will be on the oily side, so keep that in mind. - Eggplant In Spicy Sauce (5/5): Definitely order this dish! You can tell the eggplant was prepared well because it retained its beautiful purple color and luscious shape. The flavor was sweet and savory seeped well into the eggplant. My only comment would be that there wasn't a strong garlic flavor, but it was still so tasty I think it deserved that 5/5! - Mapo Tofu (2.5/5): I came here specifically for the mapo tofu but was left a bit disappointed. The flavor was pretty good and had that strong Sichuan pepper spice that lingers after a while. My issue with the tofu was the consistency of the sauce. I found it to be very thick and clumpy in an unpleasant way, almost like eating little gelatin pieces. I would probably come back to try it again just in case this was a bad batch, but it's hard to compete with wanna boa's mapo tofu. - Spicy and Crispy Chicken (4/5): Pretty juicy and crispy chicken with a slight kick. I love anything fried chicken so I did enjoy this dish but it was pretty standard and there wasn't much to write about. - Red Oil Dumplings (3/5): Pretty standard oil dumplings. They weren't really spicy which would be good for people who can't handle spice. I think I would've liked a bit more meat filling but overall not bad. - Dan Dan Noodles (3/5): I loved the texture of the noodles but I found the sauce to be kinda slippery which made it hard adhere to the noodles. I also thought the flavor could've been a bit stronger. Service/Ambiance: the interior of this place was super cute, especially the upstairs area. I loved the dim lighting and tiny table lamps which gave this place a cozy romantic feeling. The outside was also interesting with an all black exterior and no sign. That might make it hard to notice or find the restaurant, but that did give it a more hidden feeling which was nice. Parking was also abundant and service was great!
