Great spot if you're in the mood for a well balanced chicken "Wing!" I love that you can choose flats, drums or a mix. I'm a drumstick girl and these do not disappoint! A small is 5 wings and that was really enough for 2 meals. I went with the newer spicy sauce which was spicy enough without being overwhelming. I snagged some fries on HH to complete the meal. I paired my fries with spicy mayo which was not wrong! HH - m-f 4-6 with limited options (see pic) with weekday drink specials in addition to the standard hh option. I ubered to that area so not quite sure about the parking sitch. Plenty of inside seating with quite a few tvs at the bar to catch a game (or two)! Service was quite mid -- had a hard time getting them to come back by but I came for the chicken! Overall bonchon has been around the Houston area for a bit with multiple locations. Pick the nearest one and try it out!

My new husband and I just got married yesterday and went into Bonchon to watch the Texans game and have a few drinks. Our server Alexa and manager Nick were beyond amazing! Awesome energy in the restaurant and the bulgogi fries were 10/10. We honestly are thinking about coming back again for dinner. Highly recommend!!!

For starters, the interior was not what I expected for a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Looked just like an American sports bar lol. Not a big deal, just funny. It's much bigger than expected and there's plenty of seating. The service was good. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. She was also working at the cash register doing to go orders. I liked that she checked up on us regularly despite how busy she was. As for the food, it was ok. Not bad but nothing great. The wings had a nice amount of sauce on it. I liked that it wasn't too heavy. The Korean tacos were big and filling. It tasted good with the picked daikon radish. The japchae wasn't bad but barely had any meat.

A friend of mine ordered Bonchon for us last night for dinner. I believe we got a combo of wings and drumsticks with a side of the fried rice. The two flavors that we got were spicy and I believe a garlic which were both pretty good but I don't feel like the spicy was spicy at all. I enjoyed the fried rice as well. I honestly think this may have been my first time trying Korean fried chicken and it wasn't a bad experience.

If you've been to a Bonchon before you kinda know what to expect. This specific location being in midtown was a bit surprising to me, but I'm glad we have another KFC option nearby. I've ordered pick up here before but first time dining in. First things first parking could be a pain here. There's plenty of paid street parking but could be challenging depending on the time of day you come. There is also a garage for this building but not sure if it's paid or not. We walked in coming from a rockets game. We noticed half of the store had seats on the table indicating they're not available. There were a few tables with people in it and three or four dirty tables - felt kinda awkward walking in at first and to be honest we almost walked out. When we sat down our server greeted us a few minutes later - she was polite and friendly which was a reassuring sign. We ordered the 6 pc wing + 3 drum combo half and half. This is basically what we always get with a side of fries and the free radish. The quality and flavor of the chicken was on par with other bonchons. The place also started getting packed as we were there and it was 11 pm - probably normal for being in midtown. Overall, the location is decent. There's definitely some concern for homeless people walking around and in the restaurant (one walked in and quickly walked out while we were eating), but that comes with the area. They could also probably add a few more people to help clean tables, but otherwise not a bad visit.

Classic fried chicken with Korean sauces My friends and I shared a large combo of bone in wings and legs with the garlic sauce and Korean BBQ sauce mix, definitely enough for 4 people! Comes with a side of slaw and a tub of ranch Prices weren't too bad for what you get but to be honest it's just fried chicken, I had to stop eating after 3 pieces because it became too greasy but I think if you like eating fried chicken you'd get your moneys worth. Their spicy wings are *definitely* spicy, it builds. I had one from another friends plate and could only handle one, if you love spicy this could be for you. Inside style was your average bar design, service was okay they only had one person working and we had a lot of people so it was understandably slower. I'd come back to try their happy hour but probably wouldn't crave this again anytime soon.

    The location

This was poor customer service from the manager to the waitress. The waitress took care of folk that came in after me because I was on my phone. No excuse. I came there solo knowing exactly what I wanted. No offering of my drinks or anything. The customer service was horrible and Greg the manager upheld the behavior. They also have had animals in there and they were not Service Dogs. I was so displeased with this atmosphere. I'll most likely will never go there again.

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). It was also overpriced at $16. The service was good and the ambiance was pretty standard.

The broth was incredible and packed with flavor. As an appetizer, we ordered the Texas Wagyu Hot Stone Bowl -- the only rice item on the menu at the time -- made with rice, egg, kimchi sauce, tawan mushrooms, sesame, and green onion. It was prepared tableside for us, which made the experience even more fun and interactive. We also tried the Spicy Soy Ramen with braised ground pork, chili oil, soy milk broth, soft boiled egg, wakame, green onion, and micro cilantro. The Nagasaki Champon Ramen was another standout with clams, shrimp, cabbage, pork, onion, ginger, and micro cilantro in a flavorful broth that tasted fresh and authentic. I think we may have went on an off day because I have tried takeout form this place that was delicious, but on this day the food wasn't my favorite. We did overall enjoyed our experience and time and I would recommend giving this place a try! We ordered a total of 5 dishes and everything seemed very authentic to Sichuan cooking. With Sichuan cuisine though, a lot of the food will be on the oily side, so keep that in mind. - Eggplant In Spicy Sauce (5/5): Definitely order this dish! You can tell the eggplant was prepared well because it retained its beautiful purple color and luscious shape. The flavor was sweet and savory seeped well into the eggplant. My only comment would be that there wasn't a strong garlic flavor, but it was still so tasty I think it deserved that 5/5! - Mapo Tofu (2.5/5): I came here specifically for the mapo tofu but was left a bit disappointed. The flavor was pretty good and had that strong Sichuan pepper spice that lingers after a while. My issue with the tofu was the consistency of the sauce. I found it to be very thick and clumpy in an unpleasant way, almost like eating little gelatin pieces. I would probably come back to try it again just in case this was a bad batch, but it's hard to compete with wanna boa's mapo tofu. - Spicy and Crispy Chicken (4/5): Pretty juicy and crispy chicken with a slight kick. I love anything fried chicken so I did enjoy this dish but it was pretty standard and there wasn't much to write about. - Red Oil Dumplings (3/5): Pretty standard oil dumplings. They weren't really spicy which would be good for people who can't handle spice. I think I would've liked a bit more meat filling but overall not bad. - Dan Dan Noodles (3/5): I loved the texture of the noodles but I found the sauce to be kinda slippery which made it hard adhere to the noodles. I also thought the flavor could've been a bit stronger. Service/Ambiance: the interior of this place was super cute, especially the upstairs area. I loved the dim lighting and tiny table lamps which gave this place a cozy romantic feeling. The outside was also interesting with an all black exterior and no sign. That might make it hard to notice or find the restaurant, but that did give it a more hidden feeling which was nice. Parking was also abundant and service was great!

I really wanted to like Wanna Bao because the presentation of the food was beautiful, but overall,…read morethe taste just did not live up to the visuals for me. We came with a group of 18 people, and the bill ended up being around $972. Unfortunately, most of the dishes were more impressive visually than flavor-wise. The colorful green fried rice looked unique, but honestly just tasted like regular fried rice. The green beans were overcooked, so they lost the crunch and sweetness that usually make that dish enjoyable. The green curry was extremely spicy, but outside of the heat, it wasn't very memorable. The shaking beef dish looked amazing presentation-wise, but the sauce was too sweet for a savory dish, and the crispy rice pairing just didn't work well for me. I initially thought the duck dish was Peking duck, but it was actually the Jasmine Tea Smoked Duck. Even so, everyone at my table agreed we still preferred the traditional Peking duck style. The duck itself lacked flavor for us, and the skin was soft instead of having the crisp texture we were hoping for. The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and fried dumplings. Most of the other dishes at the table were barely touched. If you're looking for colorful, aesthetically pleasing food and great presentation, you may enjoy this place. But if flavor is your main priority, this spot just wasn't for me personally.
