My family came for my birthday and it was so good! We got the sampler, japchae, fried rice, mopo corn dog, chicken strip meal, bulgogi fries, and manduguk (dumpling soup). Everything I tasted was delicious. My favorite was the garlic soy glazed mopo corn dog. The yangneom (sweet, spicy, savory) sauce was unbelievably delicious on the chicken and potstickers that came on the sampler. Not to mention the service was so friendly and helpful. I don't know why it took so long but we finally visited Bonchon. We ordered wings and drumsticks, BiBimBap, onion rings, and Bulgogi fries. Food was ready quickly, and once we got home, we feasted. Can I have some Bulgogi with my Tacos????? Very disappointed. Huge cold flour shells. On the inside, a thick bed of lettuce, sprinkled with Bulgogi as garnish, then topped with a mound of coleslaw. Ugh. I like coleslaw but dang! I scooped most of it off leaving a hollow flour tortilla and barely any Bulgogi (none was taken off with the coleslaw). So disappointing to have allllll this filler with remnants of meat. Feels and taste like I had a coleslaw and lettuce burrito. Went a few weeks ago, and tried their kimchi fried rice. It was so mushy. It was quite gross. We even sat down and waited well over 30 mins there. They were pretty busy, but they didn't seem efficient either. Might go back to try their chicken which is probably what they're known for. read more

I have tried this place twice now and like something's better than others I don't see all the hype with the fried chicken strips /bites. Really hate the 99 cent convenience fee for ordering online. I come here all the time and it's one of my all time favorite restaurants! They have a big variety of dishes and my favorite is the bulgogi bibimbap or the kimchi pork belly fried rice. All their dishes are packed with flavor and leaves you fully satisfied! All the chicken is amazing as well. Super crunchy with many different delicious flavors. I highly recommend!! The staff is always so friendly too. Especially Chloe who helped me out the last time I came. She is so sweet and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly. We ordered the 8 piece chicken strips half soy garlic and half Korean bbq. The sauces were very flavorful but the chicken was a little disappointing. I was expecting more of a crunch and instead had overcooked pieces of chicken. We also ordered the vegetables potstickers, onion rings and seasoned fries. These three items were very tasty and would get again. Lastly, we ordered the fried chicken bao buns. The ingredients in the bun were very fresh and the bao itself was very fluffy and good. The only thing was we were confused to find small pieces of chicken that probably are used in the fried rice in the bao. For the price of the bao buns we were hoping to actually have fried chicken in them as advertised. This place is so good! Every sauce flavor they have for the chicken is good. My family specially loves the spicy one. I love that their chicken is always crispy even when the sauce is on them. I do also recommend their donuts for dessert. Their Japchae is my personal favorite, I've tried glass noodles at other places and I wasn't a fan, but Bonchons noodles are delish! Like I said, imagine a pancake or waffle that was a bit crispy when fresh but then got cold a soft/soggy. Thats what the outside of the wing was like. The sauced was barely brushed on. I don't want to be harsh. So let me give you the positives. The employees were sweet, and they did their jobs well. Now, this place isn't the traditional BonChon that I know and love. This place is a franchise. So don't expect that full classic taste and quality that you're used to (if you're familiar with the restaurants) The chicken quality isn't the same and you can definitely taste it in the meat and feel it in the texture. It's not that top quality that I've known and loved for years. It's close to my house so I really wanted to love it so I wouldn't have to make the drive to the SGV, but unfortunately I would 100 make that drive just to get the quality. I will come back again just to give it another chance, because it's still fairly new, and I don't want to just judge it on one experience, but I'll have to give it some time before going back.
