We had several thousand dollars worth of work done on our very old 2005 Dodge Durango. It needed a variety of things done the biggest ticket items being the air conditioning, along with many battery problems that once we got the vehicle back had not been corrected. The air conditioning items that had been installed lasted for 2 days. When we took our vehicle back the solution offered was to put a new ac compressor in which would be another 2+K$$$ I feel we were "taken to the cleaners". I'm so disappointed. We prefer to support local business but now my thoughts it shifted to buyer beware.

That mechanic would come out to greet you when you entered the shop while wiping his or her hands with a rag. You would be greeted by name, after you'd been there a time or two, and you would have a quick conversation, not to talk about the repairs to be done but just to catch up. Well friends, this is that mechanic in Liberty Hill. His name is JD. My truck is 12 years old and has started having things go awry that are simply due to age and long use. I've bounced around from shop to shop hoping to find a mechanic like JD. I've visited those shops you walk into only to be greeted by one of the sales guys who are simply there to inflate the number of repairs that are needed and to convince you their high prices are justified. You get none of that from JD. He asks for the symptoms of the problem and then he gives a quick assessment of the problem based on his years of experience vehicles similar to yours. On my first visit I immediately knew he understood the specific problem with my truck because he'd personally made the same repair many times. Probably the best compliment I can give JD is this is a shop my Dad would have taken his car to for service. He would have appreciated the simple, honest relationship he could have with him knowing he could count on him to take care of his vehicle quickly and efficiently. That's my experience. I sadly came across Randy who is hands down a used car salesman. People sitting around the garage sitting around doing nothing, tells you all you need to know. I understand the competitiveness of these shops but truly this place is not trustworthy of anyones time or money. I was told by the woman at the front desk, this location was under new management but even the owner as she pointed out to me as he walked is questionable at best. Under new management doesn't mean necessarily best. Hard pass. You know it's bad when you take time out our day to write a review on such a place. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. An illuminated engine light and oil pressure below operating standards, I decided to take this to the dealership. Only newer models and sublet that work to local repair facilities, which started me down a rabbit hole. Luckily in my searches I came across this gem in Liberty Hill called J&Z Auto Works. Friendly, and they tell it as it is. This engine is dead and will need a replacement after extensive diagnostics. Then later we were able to come up with a work order that would replace the entire engine with one that has lower miles. It is cheaper to replace than to re manufacture the existing one. A few days of it being in the shop I got a call, "Your truck is done!". I raced over to check it out and was amazed at how clean it looked in the engine bay after this used engine was put in. I grabbed the keys and turned it on and it was purrring like a kitten! After 4 months now I decided to write this review, simply because it is deserved. These guys are straight forward and know Chrysler well! The whole build was explained from the ground up and I feel the utmost transparency from this experience. As I said earlier, a gem, and a rarity when it comes to auto repair.
