My dog had to be put down on Sunday. The vet and nurses were wonderful, but reception was awful. After the vet gave my dog the first sedative shot and we were petting her and saying goodbye, the receptionist came into the room saying that she forgot the urn paperwork. She told me she picked one out FOR US and I needed to sign. I did just to get her out of the room. We left in a haze. 2 days later my husband and I called to give the feedback on how we were treated during our experience to ensure the receptionist got the proper training. We also wanted to know what had actually been our urn options. After begging for a call, we were told by the manager of this location that 1) we could not change the urn, and 2) that we were basically liars because their staff would never do that during the euthanasia (why would we make this up?!). We never got an apology or an acknowledgment that the behavior was wrong, inappropriate, and would be corrected going forward. We were completely dismissed. The manager is rude and dismissive. I'm horrified by how we have been treated, and I want to do what I can to prevent anyone else from going through this. It's heartbreaking because I think if the wonderful, kind vet or nurses heard what happened they would be equally horrified and want to ensure that it never happened to anyone else again. read more

Bond Vet - East Village, New York While the online appointment booking system is convenient, we were extremely disappointed with our experience at Bond Vet in the East Village. We needed a simple attestation of good health for a small dog traveling internationally. We clearly explained that the dog has a valid European pet passport with all vaccinations up to date and that he was returning to the EU. As clearly stated on the USDA website: "If this is a non-commercial movement [...] and the rabies vaccination recorded in the EU Pet Passport is still valid and was recorded by an EU veterinarian, the pet will only need the EU Pet Passport to travel back to the EU." "Pets returning to the EU with a valid EU Pet Passport DO NOT need a clinical examination." Our request was based solely on airline requirements, which mostly ask for a brief letter confirming the animal is in good health, and has his vaccin valid--not a USDA certificate. Unfortunately, the veterinarian at Bond Vet refused to acknowledge this and insisted on their costly "international travel appointment" package, priced between $650-$1100, which includes USDA paperwork, USDA-certified vet exams, endorsements, and concierge fees--none of which were required in our case !! They made us question what we knew, despite clear official guidelines, and caused us enormous stress and uncertainty just few hours before our international flight. In the end, the airline simply checked the pet passport and vaccination records. And did not even request a health certificate--let alone a USDA certificate... It's extremely frustrating that Bond Vet was unwilling to provide a straightforward health attestation--a basic service that other vets in New York have always offered us without any issue. We felt not only unheard but pressured into unnecessary and expensive procedures. read more

Horrific Management~ The vet, Dr Samantha Stankus, was/is expert and extremely experienced, informative and kind to me and my dog. The staff are helpful and nice enough, yet problems or concerns about service follow up are met with deflection, excuses and accusations against pet owners. My dog's exam and lab tests came back without an explanation or recommendations for continued care. Management's indifference to my concerns and determination to help my dog get well was construed by both clinic and regional management as negative feedback. Far from determination to help or explain, they nit picked, argued, defended their actions and called me a liar. After paying upwards of $400 for one visit and labs, they summarily fired me as a client. Four dogs and forty years of pet ownership, I've never seen/heard anything like it before. I had to say goodbye to my nearly 18 year old cat today and they made everything so easy and were so so caring throughout the process. They have a nice room that is very comforting and allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted with him, before and after. They answered every question, explained everything very well and made sure I understood considering the situation. I'm so glad they were available for me today, especially since it is a holiday weekend. They made me and my boy comfortable at a sad time. When we come into this veterinary practice, not only do we trust them with our beloved animals, we also trust them with our hard earned money. When we are told to come in for something (our dog swallowed a very small 1" chicken bone and we called the vet first and they freak us out and said to "bring the dog in right away to induce vomiting"), and then they bait and switch once you arrive ("...it's more dangerous to induce vomiting because the bone could hurt him on the way up") and charge you $150 to tell you to give your dog more food to eat to cushion the bone until it passes, this is borderline unethical. They even put us on hold to speak to someone in charge and then came back to tell us to bring our dog in right away. We really shouldn't have to pay for this visit. We would've just left our dog at home, we gained nothing by bringing him in because they didn't do what they said they would do when we called. Absolute INSANITY! The pricing and needless expenses that they tack on when you bring your dog in!! I mean, seriously? They quoted me $1200+ for a simple suture and took $600 deposit just to see my dog. They called again later to tell me they will need to do a variety of other tests and treatments - all said and done it would have cost me $2000 for a couple of stitches. I called my other vet and he did the job for less than $500!! BUYER BEWARE! They think you're an idiot with bottomless pockets. I am an extremely careful dog mom as my dogs are my children He had an heart condition that was kept under control his whole life. One Day he couldn't walk properly and I freaked out, I knew something wasn't right. To make the story short, my beloved vet retired and I didn't really have a new one. So I rushed to Bond Vet, recommended by people with dogs in my building, where a female Vet (expert in cats) took care of my pup although she wasn't sure about anything.. she was just trying to give me opinions after looking at his blood test. And THAT is my biggest regret, I should have left right away and go for a second opinion somewhere else instead of panicking and give the benefit of doubt to this individual. My baby never got better even after the drugs that were supposed to help him "tremendously", as she said. But I learned afterwards that Steroids cannot be good for pets with heart conditions. They destroyed his organs particularly his liver. I asked her to be very honest with me and tell me if she thought that my baby was going to die and she said : no, he will be fine, just be patient and complete the cure. He died the day after that conversation and a big part of me died too. Never again. read more

Somebody left a bad review about the vet Ruby Ng and I have to just say...are we living in the same universe? We brought our geriatric cat to her five or six times, and each time she was amazing. She explained everything we needed explained, never talking down to us, and answered every question we had. She was completely transparent about the costs of medications, procedures, and tests. She even gave us samples of prescription diets when our boy refused all the ones we had tried so far! She recommended X scan over Y scan to help us save money while still getting the answers we needed. She's now three times (!) left us voicemails going over our boy's bloodwork so thoroughly that Verizon literally cut her off at the end. Ruby Ng rocks and Bond Vet has been great. She's literally our favorite vet we have ever had. We came in with a 15 year old geriatric cat who weighed only 7 lbs and was walking like he was made of creaky sticks and abandoned wishes. My dog was sick for 10 days and I went to Bond vet after hearing great things from other pet owners in my building. They were able to see my pet for a same day appointment. The lady on the phone set me up with an account and an app within 15 minutes. The exam room at Bond Vet was spacious and allowed for my dog to move around and decompress at his own rate. The the vet tech was patient and gentle with my dog offering him treats, petting him, and allowing him to sniff all her tools before she even began her routine exam. By the time Dr. Halle Thomasch came in my dog had began to calm down. She again took her time offering him treats, petting him, and allowing him to sniff all her tools. It was clear Dr. Thomasch reviewed all my dog's medical records and notes before our visit (even though it was so last minute) because she was able to answer all my questions and pinpoint exactly where things went wrong at the last vet and how she plans to correct them. She was extremely thorough and patient with both me and my dog which was much appreciated. All the costs and procedures were explained to me upfront. Nothing was done to my dog without me knowing. Nothing was charged to my card without my authorization. I was given an itemized receipt that was emailed to me and will show in my app as well. I was also emailed detailed notes of the visit. I was explained exactly what the follow up procedure is, how I should administer medication, etc. Our visit lasted over an hour which shows how meticulous and thorough my dog's exam was as well as the explanation of payment and debriefing on medications and follow up procedures. Even though we were there well past closing on a holiday, the ladies at the front desk stayed to play fetch with my dog and give him pets and treats for being such a brave boy. We even left with a goodie bag! I cannot say enough good things about Bond Vet. If I could give it 10 stars I would. If I could give Dr. Thomasch 10 stars I would. I used yelp to help find a vet after moving to the upper east side this summer and it can be very challenging to read about different people's experiences and to understand how that might translate for you. I felt compelled to leave a review after selected Bond Vet on 62nd and 3rd and after seeing Dr. Eugene Lee today because I thought everyone at the Vet showed the upmost professionalism, compassion and competence. I was very nervous about choosing a new vet for my almost 16-year-old Yorkie who has a variety of health concerns. Dr. Lee was very thorough in going through 15 years of medical history, listening to my concerns and conducting his exam and then, he proceeded in a kind and gentle way to lay out options to treat each of my dog's health concerns, starting with the most pressing concern of a wound on his leg that will not heal. He gave me three distinct paths that I might consider pursuing and did not say that one way was correct. I really appreciated this because I have been in situations where Vets have told me I must do something and seemed incredulous if I declined invasive practices to save my dog suffering. So, I really appreciated his understanding that the choice on how to treat was dependent on what I knew about my dog and what I want for his future. It was not an easy visit and we still have decisions to make but I feel that I have an understanding, empathetic partner on this journey. Also, and this is important, for so many of us who have been caring for elderly dogs for a long time, I was given an option about various testing and these tests were contingent on different paths (i.e. they didn't just take expensive blood, urine and other tests) and then decide on how to treat. Therefore, I left paying a bill that felt very fair and didn't include tests and treatments that I wasn't sure that I need. I hope this helps someone else in choosing a Vet on the UES and also adds further context to another review, that I read, stating that Dr. Lee wasn't considerate in giving a cancer diagnosis. That was their experience but mine was very different and I would recommend Dr. Lee and this practice to everyone I care about with dogs. read more

Worst vet experience. Very impersonal and terrible bedside manner by Dr Helen Yu. I inherited my cat from my dying mother and am learning how to best care for her. This veterinarian was incredibly judgmental and condescending. She finally insisted my cat receive dental care for $3,500.00 that doesn't include a separate board certified veterinary anesthesiologist. Do your family a favor and go to a different vet clinic. For a number of yrs. taking my cat there at least annually until present, vet's office was nearby & although expensive & one vet pushed/ mentioned more unnecessary procedures than the other, it was worthwhile since my cat is always very frightened to even go short distances ( vet was 2 City Street blocks from my apt.). However, after recent visit, do not feel comfortable taking my beloved (& young/healthy) 5 yr. old cat to that vet anymore. At last visit, which ended up being cheapest yet in all yrs taken there, which she just presented for nail trim ( tried myself at home to no avail), practice insisted cat needed to see vet first ($125). Nail trim was $42. Again, since nearby, just agreed even though other vets if established patient, do not require vet visit/ fee just for nail trim, unless brand new patient. Unfortunately, incorrect info. was 'added' to her encounter/ medical visit summary such as "kidneys removed" when I never stated that & my cat would be dead if had no kidneys. Vet also coincidentally this particular visit claimed felt a mammary cancer mass in my 5yr. old cat & stated as such in medical report, even though declined liquid biopsy & therefore no cancer diagnosis ( I am going for second opinion first, as I am a scientist (of 20+ yrs clinical experience) with a graduate degree from a leading U.S. cancer institute & did not feel assumption was accurate. Also, on report it was 'added' that I noticed the mass myself "recently" ( never did & questioned at appt. validity of vet's hypothesis). Now I have been trying to have report corrected for several items including 2 mentioned above; unsure if it will after e-mailed & then follow ed-up by calling office. Also, over the phone, asked if vet visit in exam room was (sound) recorded for accuracy & stated no, which is concerning for myself & my pet. When questioned if vet herself wrote report due to medical inaccuracies, phone rep. stated yes, although last few lines listed on medical encounter summary report the vet was not even present in room for during that time & sure vet asst. wrote it ( which didn't belong in report, either). I should mention report was issued close to closing time, but no excuse & feel very uncomfortable bringing cat there in future when listening & mention inaccurate fear-inducing assumptions on reports. I am a very busy professional & do not have time nor tolerance for possibility of happening again. ( My mom also became handicapped after tumor diagnosis in past yr. and all my free time besides professional work, goes to her care). My young cat is healthy & shame on intentionally or not unethical report/ visit findings, when people have more than enough on their plate. Bond Vet is a convenient, modern and fantastic vet! They have a convenient app for booking appointments, chatting with admin/medical teams, and storing your pet's medical history. They are always open it seems, and it is easy to get a last minute appointment. Plus with covid, their safety precautions seem great (although it sucks not being able to go inside with your pet ). The only con for me is not seeing the same doctor every time, so you don't build a relationship with them (at least if you book online, you don't get a choice of doctor). Also, at our first appointment, they gave us a great puppy pack. My pup is in LOVE with the beef jerky that Bond Vet sells- he is so picky but he goes crazy for it! *PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT HERE* To start, I have been with Bond for over a year now (I frequent UES and Chelsea locations). I'm finally writing this review as sort of a last straw. The first bad experience I had, the doctor gave my dog the wrong dosage for her medication (shes a 6 pound toy poodle, and they gave her the dosage of a 25 pound dog.) I was really understanding of that mistake as I know things happen. But recently, my dog was rushed to Bond Vet UES as she was pooping blood and throwing up. I ALWAYS reiterate on the phone before any appointment that my dog "HAS A SEVERE CHICKEN ALLERGY." I told this to the nurse and the doctor. With that said, I found out 2 days later after the appointment that *Dr. Mutate* had PRESCRIBED MY DOG MEDICATION WITH CHICKEN IN IT. After I had repeatedly said that she has a chicken allergy. The only reason I noticed is because my roommate's dog has been taking the same medication and she pointed out to me that it had chicken in it. Thank god I noticed because if I hadn't called, Bond Vet would not have known and my dog would've been hospitalized. I spoke to Dr. Mutate yesterday, who did apologize but just kept making excuses saying she "didn't know the medication could be chicken". Which honestly, lame. Absolutely unacceptable to let that slip. I totally understand mistakes are made, but this is something that should NEVER happen. Again, the doctor's name was Dr. Mutate. The scary part is, if i never called to say anything, Dr. Mutate wouldn't have caught it and I would be sitting here paying thousands of dollars $$$ in hospital bills for my dog. Needless to say, my dog has been throwing up and having allergic reactions due to Bond Vet's malpractice and ignorance. Her eyes are swollen shut, and still vomiting 3 days later. She's very lethargic, and I'd argue her symptoms are worse because of the chicken ingestion. I called the practice to get a refund on the whole appointment, which they FINALLY gave me. (Shouldn't this be the first thing they offered? Why did I have to fight for a reimbursement?) I spoke to the UES clinic manager, Jante (?) today as well, who honestly handled the call so poorly that it was almost laughable. She had really nothing to say, making many excuses like "oh sorry, we usually only have the vanilla flavor in stock and the doctor didnt know it was chicken." Haha. All she really said on the phone was "Yeah...sorry." I wish that an apology could fix the situation. Too bad my dog is currently not eating and her symptoms have only worsened. If there was a change in medication stock, shouldn't the doctor be aware of this??? I am just beyond shocked and disappointed. They're 30 blocks away from us but definitely worth the walk - chicest, cleanest, cutest and friendliest clinic ever! Booking was so seamless, and you can communicate via chat on the app and their response was so quick. Upon arriving, Walt and I immediately felt welcome - the wonderful ladies at reception even gave him two toys and played with him while we waited (very briefly). Rafael and Dr. McLaughlin were awesome and took the time to get to know Walt, and thoroughly addressed my concerns. The most incompetent of vets - do not take your animal here. Also, do yourself a favor and look at Dr. Thomasch and Dr. De Koning's schooling; both have been "vets" for under 5 years. Concerning when they can't tell if a cat has been spayed and then proceed to say that she's pregnant. Back story: we found a stray kitten and brought her into bond for a check up. Ignoring some of the very negative reviews because of affordability. Also all of this did not need 5 different visits but we listened to the advice of the "vets" - first visit: check up, said she was pregnant, checked with ultrasound and pointed out 4-5 "kittens" mentioned we should come back in following week. Mentioned she was 6-9 months old. - Second visit: nurse visit, came back in for ultrasound, confirmed she wasn't pregnant - Third visit: nurse appt, bloodwork and FVRCHP Vaccine (bloodwork came back and her PT/PTT time was elevated, "vets" gave us no indication of what this could mean) - Fourth visit: rabies shot, PT/PTT follow up (bloodwork came back normal...) - Fifth visit: nurse visit, FVRCP shot. Asked when we'd like to set up an appointment to get her spayed (Note: she's already been spayed, little to our knowledge, or their's) Five visits at $1200, 2 vets (Dr. Thomasch and Dr. De Koning) and 2 nurses later, she's fully vaccinated and healthy, so we decide to get her spayed but decide against bond, they had quoted us $1200+ for the procedure. Thank goodness for the angels at Flatbush Vet. We dropped her off to get spayed at a fraction of the price. They commented on her looking very healthy and pretty heavy for being young. Unfortunately, they had anesthetized her and shaved her belly, prepping her for surgery. When we came to pick her up, they told us they had good news, that she was already spayed!!! The look on our faces and shock at how we were duped at Bond. They proceeded to tell us that she must've been spayed a couple of months ago and showed us her green tattoo that was very easily visible if you knew where to look. Also, cats that are spayed are left with a bump from the incision scar and vets typically feel around for that bump under their fur before proceeding with a spay procedure. Between the false pregnancy scare and if the vets or lab had messed up the test results for her PT/PTT times because everything else was normal and she showed no signs of being ill, we will NEVER be going back to Bond and we advise you to do the same for the safety of your pet and wallet. All we ask is for a refund and for people to avoid this location. read more

BOND VET 62nd Street -- GO ELSEWHERE!! We are an animal rescue/cat shelter non-for-profit organization 501c3 and on 1/6/2023 and we are extremely disappointed with Bond Vet's 62nd St location. We had to take one of our cats with a possible URI to the "Bond Vet" at 62nd Street and 3rd Ave in Manhattan location. After paying a pricey $$ bill in full, BOND VET offers NO discounts to 501c3 status and animal rescue orgs, we were told that the cat's medical notes would be emailed to us shortly after. As of today, after long innumerable phone calls, emails and lots of frustration Bond Vet has yet to send the medical notes about our. According to the office manager the Vet who visited our cat did not complete her notes and she is off and not available until the end of this week... We have experienced NO delays or issues when paying our bill $$. And all they care about is $$!! read more

I then had to return with my dog to the vet a week later, and again a week after that, only to find myself the next week at the emergency clinic for untreated, ignored issues. How in the world could there have been untreated issues when my dog was examined on a weekly basis? I was given only "script" boilerplate language as to their malfeasance While this place has a nice vibe, their customer service is pathetic which ultimately cost me thousands of dollars in emergency medical bills. For what it's worth, I didn't want to leave this review because I wanted to give Bond Vet the benefit of the doubt and try and right their wrong, but they didn't. From the get go, they were super responsive via the chat function through the app and helped us to schedule a pre-visit phone consult with a nurse so we would know what to expect. Our first visit was great, and we appreciated their attention to COVID precautions by having only drop offs and phone conversations with the doctor. We felt confident our pup was being treated well. Not a fan... I just moved to the area and was looking for a new vet. Bond Vet got a lot of good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try, plus only $15 for the first visit. I felt rushed during that first drop off/ phone visit (covid protocol). Every question I asked the vet, she was quick to answer before I was done asking the question. Which made me feel like she wasn't listening completely to me and was in a hurry to get off the phone. My dog has a skin issue, has had it twice a year for the last 6 years. My other vets would clean the wound during the visit. This vet charges $60 on top of the exam fee to clean it. Uh, I'll just clean it at home, thanks. I've been there three times. My last (and final) visit... As with the other two times, I pay my bill via the payment link on the email. I don't pay with my card in person (due to covid). I'm never late, I pay as soon as I get home. This visit, they called me 45 minutes later, explaining to me that they provided a $300 service and need to be paid. Are you kidding me? I've paid every bill, in the same day. Are you going to give me a chance to get home? When I got home, about 2 hours later. I logged on to pay the bill. It said "past due" Paid that 2 hour "past due" bill And am leaving this vet. I wanted a place who cared about my dog, listen to my concerns. I never even see the workers pet my dog when they get him or say goodbye to him. They seem to only care about the money. read more

I found Bond after I found a stray sick kitten on the street during covid, amidst the protesting, looting height of chaos in Manhatten and needed to take her somewhere for vaccinations and etc. My vet actually told me that they would have to charge me way too much to help and kept telling me what to purchase at PetCo to fix her ears, eyes and formula to get her healthy. Bond was good because they ran a great special and allowed vaccinations without a huge charge for an exam, which was a special. I loved how they were transparent with the costs of vaccinations and good knowing that I was unemployed, as well. Always helpful staff and responsive. My only odd situation was at the time to spay, I've asked about the process and they gave me an envelope with an estimate to spay her for $950.00. No wonder the vet tech didn't want to discuss it when I was there. When I opened it, about 2 weeks after the appointment thinking of when we would be able to afford it... I was stunned. Who can afford this? And... I've owned pets my entire 48 years, never have I heard of paying nearly $1000.00 for a spay/neuter of a pet. Ridiculously overpriced, unbelieveable. When I called to ask if this was accurate, they told me I can speak with a surgical expert on the break down? Or they would email me lesser places, and ironically... one being the ASPCA, which is NOT offering spay/neuter due to covid or most of the other places. I really wanted to love this place, but nope. The vets and nurses respond pretty quickly. Service is fast and the employees clearly love their jobs. However, my issue is with their pricing tactics. I went in for a first visit offer ($15) when I was fostering a dog to make sure he was all ok before making the decision to adopt. After adopting, they recommended that I get him 5-6 standard vaccines which are required for any newly adopted dog i.e. parvo combo, rabies, worms, fecal test etc. However they charge $60-80 PER VACCINE!! I asked if I could get the tests done at a local clinic and was ok'd by the vet provided I return the records so it would be on file. The local vetco clinic had a special for all of the shots for $100 total. Afterwards, I emailed all of the records and results back to Bond Vet. Fecal results show my dog has a bit of hookworm, and requires 2 rounds of dewormer + another fecal test after that. Totally fine with me. However, I later received an invoice for a $100 single pill!! Checking online, the true cost is only $4 per pill. It seems like they charge an insane premium to even write a prescription (even though I paid for an annual vet check up already). They will probably also try charging me even more on top of that since he'd have to come and do 2 rounds of vet visits for the dewormer. I believe they said previously that each vet visit is $100. I honestly don't know what to do in order to get my dog affordable care for a routine condition commonly present in dogs. I'll try asking around to other pet parents to see what they do since this seems quite ridiculous. The tests were done elsewhere so I don't think it's right to charge $100 for a $4 pill. Had I been foolish enough to spend everything at Bond, they would have likely charged me $700+ for getting my dog up to date on vaccines and extra hookworm care. Also the doctor recommended the worst possible food for dogs thats on the market I guess they also get paid for recommending purina/hills sience and royal canin. The first visit was nice. Have been bringing my pets to bondvet ues for about a year. Initially, i thought the app to make appointments and easy communication was handy, but what is the whole point of the app if it still takes days - weeks to get things done? Also, on the app, you cannot choose which provider to see. Better to call in person to choose a specific provider instead of being assigned someone who isn't capable of completing the after visit summary weeks (3 weeks so far!) after the visit. I. Love. Bond. Vet. Honestly. I wish that they could be my doctor. Friendly, knowledgeable, and they let me ask all of the annoying questions that I need. Their website is great and you can see all of your vet notes right away, all the bills, they have a chat function - AND THEY ARE HONEST! Dealing with pet insurance is a nightmare, and they understand just how expensive their services are - so if there are ways to cut costs or if there are ways to have DIY homecare vs. coming into the vet, they are totally willing to discuss that. Also, did I mention that they have a chat function? It's really helpful also to ask quick questions and determine whether heading to them is necessary. I can't emphasize enough how friendly they are. Yes, their standard visit cost is a bit more expensive than some other vets, but the type of service that you get is truly remarkable. We had originally gone to a bougie vet in Riverdale and the most standard questions were like pulling teeth and I always left feeling like I was doing them a favor by leaving as quickly as possible. NOT SO at Bondvet! I have never felt rushed and have always felt like I could ask all of the things that I needed to. LOVE THEM SO MUCH (even if we've already had to spend ... a lot...). read more

Have had several disappointing experiences here and will not be returning. I started going here with my new puppy because of the proximity to my apartment. During 2 of her vaccination visits, they had mixed up the vaccinations she was due for, and I had to tell them which ones she needed instead - pay attention! They scheduled 2 of her shot appointments separately that could have been consolidated - they admitted to this after and blamed it on avoiding "adverse reactions" which she had not experienced previously and after doing research, are administered together all the time and would have been perfectly acceptable. Each appointment + dose is very pricey and this seemed intentional. When I expressed concerns about oral flea and tick, I felt cornered and pressured by the first vet who saw her. She rolled her eyes at me when I expressed my concern, taking offense to the fact that I had referred to my breeder's advice. I understand that vet's are trained and more knowledgable but they should help educate, not make me feel totally uncomfortable and dumb for even questioning the guidance after asking about seizures, which are listed as side effects on the back of most oral flea and tick meds. I thought I didn't have an option but the nurse came in after and said it was totally up to me. I asked a different vet from Bond the next time I took my puppy in, and she told me there were many other options and that a collar works just as well. Worst of all, I asked about anti-nausea medication (Cerenia) and they wrote me a prescription and charged $61 for FOUR 16 mg tablets (lowest dose). I checked Chewy, Petco, and Walmart which all had the medication listed for $19.36. I called and asked for a refund/ to return it and they refused. I put my trust in them and they totally took advantage. There's no reason they should be charging 3x the price on medication that I could get OTC through most pet sites. read more

Such a quick and easy process especially considering the accommodations for COVID. Dropped my cat off and received a call from the nurse & vet on the findings from his initial evaluation and then got a call when they were ready for me to pick him up. The staff was super nice! Reposting my google review here: Ok, I really WANTED to love Bond Vet but I am so frustrated!! We've been to bond vet 3 times (2.18, 2.23 and 3.9) plus a phone call (3.17) and using their messaging system (3.24) where every time we expressed concerns about our dog's stool and they failed to test the dog for Giardia. We went to another vet yesterday and guess what, he has Giardia... We originally went to Bond because we figured it was a beautiful space (which it is don't get me wrong) and they seemed more reasonable than the other vets we had contacted. Boy were we wrong! They're not thorough at all and we've paid more money over time than if we had just gone to the more comprehensive/expensive vet to begin with. Don't bother taking your dog to Bond Vet because you think they're more transparent with their pricing. Here's the story: we picked up our Frenchie puppy on Presidents Day and happily brought him to Bond Vet the next afternoon for a wellness check. We could give him back to the breeder if there was anything wrong with him and figured Bond's first-time visit deal was good to save us a few dollars. Feb 18: At our first visit the vet examined him for maybe 5 minutes, declared he was OK with the exception of a scratch on his cornea and sent us away with eye drops and a mandate to come back the following week. We expressed concerns about his eating habits and stool but she told us it was probably him getting used to his new environment. She forgot to talk to us about flea and heartworm prevention but we figured it was OK because we were coming back the next week. Feb 23: We go back the next week for a follow-up exam on his eye, get the heartworm and flea medicine and WE asked THEM to perform a fecal because he was having consistent diarrhea issues and we figured that wasn't normal. They performed a fecal and told us the results came back negative. March 9: We took the vet back the following week because despite all our efforts the dog was still having diarrhea. The vet dismissed the idea that he might have Giardia and put him on antibiotics for 5 days. March 17: We call the vet back because after finishing his medication he's still having issues, they prescribe another round of antibiotics. They suggested we should consider switching his food because it might be a food allergy. March 24: He was still having stomach issues, so we message Bond Vet via their chat system asking for a recommendation for switching food. The food they recommended WAS NOT puppy food (he is 8 months) but adult food, but we figured they knew what they were doing so we gradually made the switch. April 2: Nothing changed with the dogs stool so we took him to another vet who took the time to explain what he was doing, how the dogs digestion works and possible causes. That vet performed a fecal and shocker... it came back positive for Giardia. They also told us that it was very unlikely he had a food allergy and should absolutely remain on puppy food for at least a year. If you've made it to this point, moral of the story... don't let their nice Instagram account and cute paint job fool you. Do your homework on vets that are best for your breed and do the pre-work of letting you know all the things your dog should be tested for before you go. If you go to Bond Vet, your dog sees a different person every time you go.. that isn't useful for their health or your time. read more

They said they were closing and they "made a referral to an animal center that could help us" when I called to the animal hospital they said no one did a referral and they didn't provide the services I was looking for. There were people inside the clinic and other animals and the "nurse" told me the Dr that didn't want to see my cat was Ms. smith (I think is fake). I believe the girl just wanted to go home, the appointment wouldn't take longer than 30 min, she said it would take longer than that. This is not the first time I heard about the unprofessional staff at this location, I wanted to address this first directly to you before going forward with the state. I didn't just want to take them any where until I found Bond Vet on upper East side and Even though it was curb side and I felt scared because it was our first time going to this Bond Vet and you are not allowed inside due to the COVID so we had to wait outside. They called me when they were done with my fur babies and explained everything over the phone very detailed and on paper as well and they also give you everything broken down on your receipt on what they did. A few weeks ago, I received a DM on Instagram inviting me to a grand opening party for Bond Vet a block away from my apartment. (The first location is in Cobble Hill and they're expanding to UWS and Chelsea soon.) Not one to decline free food and doggie snuggles, I got there about 20 minutes into the four hour party. It was MOBBED with adorable dogs and the wraps, fruit ,cookies, pastries were plentiful. The office itself is the prettiest vet office I've seen. No contest. Everyone is so friendly and they offered 15 dollar wellness checkups for those who attended. My cat, Taco, has a pee problem. It's partly due to having lived with a large dog who harassed him. But he was a peecat before the introduction of Rocky, the Golden Retriever. The peeing has subsided substantially since May but he is peeing again and this time, it's on my chair. The chair I spend most of my waking hours. Dr Anderson is terrific. His assistant was friendly and helpful, too. The price for wellness check is 75, which is 15 or 20 under the average for Manhattan. I can't speak to the blood and urine tests, or ultrasounds, because I'm going to try Feliway and double up on litter boxes before running tests. I am 100% sure this is a chronic behavioral issue (Taco peed even before the dog invaded the Tribeca apartment), but they have to make sure liver values are fine before prescribing Prozac or Gabapentin. I'm still devoted to Manhattan Cat Specialists but Via is no longer 5 or 6 bucks. It's more like 12 bucks. So that is 25 dollars on top of the 90 or 95 vet visit. Bond Vet is one block from me. The difference, for me, between 75 dollars and 115 dollars is not trivial. That's 40 dollars, which is basically a TDF ticket to Broadway, or a cover at 54 Below on GoldStar plus a over half the minimum. read more

Bond Vet was a very pleasant experience. They took great care of my dog and took all necessary precautions regarding Covid-19. They were very thorough and I was able to speak with both the nurse and doctor in-depth regarding my dog's vaccinations and health. I must add that we were the last appointment of the evening, which did run over business hours, and at no point did I feel rushed. I'll certainly be brining Dagny to Bond Vet from here on out. read more
