Bond Vet was a very pleasant experience. They took great care of my dog and took all necessary precautions regarding Covid-19. They were very thorough and I was able to speak with both the nurse and doctor in-depth regarding my dog's vaccinations and health. I must add that we were the last appointment of the evening, which did run over business hours, and at no point did I feel rushed. This was my puppies first visit to the Vet. I'm sure I was more nervous than she was. Due to Covid, owners are not allowed inside, but the techs call you on your phone and take a full report before my pup even saw the vet. After speaking with Dr. Austin, I felt very comfortable. She explained everything in great detail and made me feel confident in her ability as a veterinarian. I was extremely pleased with my first experience with Bond Vet and I think we found our vet for our Mia. EDIT: after reading some of these other reviews I feel the need to say how awful this place is. We are still in a pandemic so you give your dog to someone and they return it to you, people are not allowed in the treatment room(s?). So really ydk. This is the 2nd time I've brought my dog here. The first was an exam and a rabies vaccine. My dog growled at the vet tech when she tried to help me put him in his carrier after the appointment. There were price discrepancies between the prices they quoted on the phone before our visit and what they charged me when I was there. Today my dog needed a fecal so I brought a sample to be tested(last time $85, this time $89, front desk person said the price went up). Nothing they tell me is factual, they should have told me about the difference in price before I was there. I wanted to weigh him - they've been giving me heartworm pills for dogs under 25 lbs and I wanted to make sure he still met that criteria. They told me they could weigh him "real quick", in an exam room with me in attendance. What actually happened was someone ended up taking my dog to a back room and I wasn't allowed to be there. I ended up going to the room and getting him bc that's not what I signed up for. No transparency. Nothing they tell me is right. They do their billing great though, very efficient. read more

I have been bringing my dog to Bond Vet's UES location for over a year now and have seen the level of care and quality go down fast. The last few appointments have been incredibly sloppy (forgotten vaccinations even though it was explicitly written in the appointment details, does not notice upcoming annual tests and charges me another body exam which is now $110 when I bring her in a day later, and careless comments in front of me) but our last appointment was the last straw. I brought my dog in for to check out a recent injury from another dog and asked if they could also clip her nails. While they brought her to the back, the tech went over the estimate and when she got to the medication cost, I let out a small "wow" because it was a substantial amount. Her comment was that "this is a really good antibiotic"... as opposed to a bad one? I was asked to wait in the lobby and not a few minutes later, I heard my dog screaming. When the tech brought her out, she simply passed me the leash without comment. It was only when I brought up two blood spots on her back paw did she finally admit that they cut her quick on her back dew claws. TWICE. How do you make a mistake TWICE?! Were there 2 techs cutting her nails at the same time? She then lied to my face that my dog didn't even feel it. I heard her screaming which still haunts me since my dog hardly ever makes a peep. To make things worse, my dog is reactive to large dogs which again was noted multiple times in her appointment details and on file, so when a large dog came in during our confrontation, my dog let out a low growl. The attendant at the front desk said, "wow I guess your dog didn't learn her lesson". Excuse me? Is that an appropriate comment to make given she has no context on what happened, and that we have been coming here for a year and have always noted my dog is reactive? With the last few appointments being awful, the careless attention and lies to my face, and the insane upcharge on medication (I compared to Chewy and Bond Vet easily charges 5x the amount), I will never bring my dog back. read more

After having a horrendous experience with a vet in Queens, and seeing numerous Instagram ads for Bond Vet; I decided to look up reviews and testimonies myself. Let me tell you something, the reviews are true! Even my first phone consult with Debbie was delightful! Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile and understanding that my baby was a little nervous. They were so patient and kind when explaining what was going on with my babies teeth etc. Not condescending or pushy in any way about her needing dental surgery, but was still realistic with me about what was going on. I was very concerned about what appeared to be an abscess between my dog's nose and eye. He was experiencing discomfort and sensitivity. I did not desire to return to my former veterinarian for a variety of reasons. I discovered Bond Vet via social media, and decided it was time for a change in his medical care. The doctor, nurses, and receptionist were so kind and gentle with him. He was barking with sheer delight. He immediately warmed up to the team, and felt at home. They removed the mass, and despite the procedure, he was so happy. He wanted more affection and play time. Mickey did not want to leave. In all our visits to the veterinarian, he never behaved this way. Bond Vet exceeded my greatest expectations. I am thrilled to have discovered them, and highly recommend them to all loving pet owners. I wish them great success with their new venture on 62nd and Third. read more

Updating my review with another wonderful experience I had from Bond Vet. My baby girl is having a spaying surgery upcoming week and all of our family members been worrying and feeling extremely anxious due to this. Fortunately, I was able to talk to Debbie and it was the most pleasing and satisfying experience I had from all. She kindly and patiently listened to all of my concerns (three different calls from me - all frustrated and overwhelmed from worrying) and went over what would happen during the surgical operation and who would be there to help. The knowledge and professionalism with years experience from her definitely eased my mind and my little sister who's been crazily anxious about Luca's spay surgery. I have paragraphs written in my phone notes which I was going to post on my review here but it just makes me sad and angry so I'll just get to the point. Please don't bring your pet here. I lost my cat almost a year ago and I'm finally mustering up the energy to write this. I took my cat to Bond first and then I switched to another vet who said Bond's treatment was unnecessary. It breaks my heart to hear another professional say that my cat was given unnecessary stress when he was already dying. Their marketing is good, don't fall for it. Go to their website and look at their staff page, they're all young and don't have many years of experience under their belts yet. Go to someone more experienced who actually knows how to treat your pet. read more

Incredibly disappointed. They are not transparent with pricing and they are looking for opportunities to upcharge. First) Took my pup for a general exam where they tell me he's bloated and needs an 85$ fecal test. I tell them 'hey, he was fed 30 minutes before we came...are you sure?' Both the nurse and vet insist. Get the test and the results come back negative. (I get it, better safe than sorry, but seriously? At least say bring the pup back 2+ hours after his last feeding and we'll rediagnose). Second) They try to sell you on $55 vaccines (stated on the website and even repeated to us by the vet). Sounds great! Wrong! They email us less than 24 hrs before the appointment, 'Your visit will include a $35 nurse fee for the vaccine'. I'm sorry, what? Dont tell me vaccines are $55 when they are actually $90. You're purposefully being non-transparent in an effort to gain customers. As I said, incredibly disappointed. It truly feels like their primary concern is sucking you into extra charges and the care for your pet is ancillary. read more

Dreadful, uncaring practice. I went with my dog who had been bitten by another dog near his eye and got there almost 2 hours before closing. They had open appointment slots online and make a big deal about being available for emergencies. They looked at him and scared me saying he had to be sedated and might require stitches. Refused to treat him and sent me away to search for another open vet. Went to Blue Pearl far away and 3 hour wait but they said it didn't require either stitches or sedation or really anything. It would have taken Bond vet 10 minutes to do the same evaluation and saved the dog and me from a harrowing night. Truly an awful practice. read more

They were fast, sweet, and very clear about my bill. I've been to two other vets in the city and was gouged on just the exam let alone any meds and tests. Bond Vet really does only charge $75 for an exam and tries not to pressure you into buying anything else from them. Dr. Anderson even looked up a medication on Chewy.com and sent me a link so I could purchase it online (cheaper and safer during COVID-19!). They did a no-contact visit due to COVID-19 and it went very smoothly. I didn't feel that they paid any less attention to me or my dog just because I wasn't in the room. BEWARE!! Nightmare! I took my little Yorkie to Bond vet UES. I wanted to her to have an xray and bloods. They said it was too late in the day and they thought her patella problem was a grade 1. They said she needed to be sedated for an xray. The next day I called them to schedule the xray and was on hold 4 times for 3 hours. I sent 5 emails with no replies from them. I changed vets the following week and went to a vet who x-rayed her that day with NO SEDATION. They said she had a grade 2 condition which needs to be treated. In closing, Bondvet misdiagnosed my dog, told me they had to sedate her which was not true and never as in NEVER answered their phones for my follow up and treatment plan call. They had no problem overcharging on my visit. Stay away. This was an awful experience. Excellent service and caring and compassionate staff. We brought our 13 year old cat Molly there today and from the moment I walked in, the service was excellent. Dr. Thomasch took care of Molly and she was very detailed in discussing her prior bloodwork and concerns as to what may be going on with Molly. She took to the time to answer all of my questions/concerns and was very detailed. I have been to other veterinarian practices and Bond Vet at this location (Upper East Side at 62nd Street) is the best by far. I highly recommend it. read more

They're really expensive and BondVet has a corporate feel. No doubt because it is owned by private equity and VC firms. What I don't like is they try to upcharge you for tests etc that don't have any clinical basis. This is likely because they work on commission and they seem more concerned with charging you as much as possible than with providing quality care. read more

The staff and the vet doctor here are unprofessional and unfriendly people, who are rude and passively-aggressively attacking their clients, while hiding behind fake smiles. When they were faced with a comment that they do not warn their clients about ''curbside pickup only' policy on their website during appointment schedule, the main doctor started acting very disrespectful and aggressive towards us. The doctor tried to find at least some kind of reason to attack us by reviewing our visit history with BondVet, but all her accusations about our past visits and cancellations didn't have any real subject matter for the accusations. It was obvious that the doctor uses attacks and accusations on her clients as the only method to defend from people and their relevant comments. I wish the staff of this clinic would mind their own business, started respecting clients and the pets, and become more welcome and kind towards pets and clients. In my opinion, it is unacceptable to give a pet to staff at this location, especially without direct owner supervision of their actions. Staff actions and attitude give impression that this clinic treats all pets as laundry that is suitable for dropping off for their mercy. They do not actually care about pets and their well-being. I think, if something happens during the treatment without owner's pretense, the owners will never know about this, because the clinic would use the current situation for their own advantage and run away from any responsibility. I wish this clinic would start take responsibility for its actions, start acting respectfully and kind to their clients and their pets, and would find a way for owners to be present during vet visits, so the doctor would be always accountable for performed treatments. read more

This is the McDonald's of veterinarians. Going to these chains is like eating a big mac, clogging your arteries--making your dear pet's problems WORSE. Hasty examination, no follow-up, and unwilling to resolve issues without charging you. another ridiculous fee. I brought in my dog to be treated for blood in her urine. The examiner was cold and unwelcoming, but after $500, I trusted that the basic antibiotic prescription would help my dog to heal. Anything for our pets, right? Two days later, I received a call from a harried and rude vet (not the one who'd seen her, equating with less concern/connection) who explained to me that my dog would need additional meds to the ones I'd been prescribed (this place charges $50 for something that is $25 on Chewy ps). When I asked if I could pick these up at another location closer to my home, she said yes and that she would follow up with me. She never did. In order to get my dear pooch's next round of meds, I had to contact the vet again. After paying $500 for a 15-minute visit, you think they would have had the common decency to do that. The lack of concern for animals here makes me wonder why anyone working at this organization is even in the field... To top it all off, after $600 and two rounds of meds, and less than a month since our visit, my dog is urinating blood again. When I called to get this resolved, the rude phone operators let me know that I would have to pay the full fee again. I highly suggest finding less of a meat-market, revolving door, negligent vet to care for your precious pal. read more

I was recommended to this facility by a friend. I wanted to give this place a try in hopes of finding a reliable urgent care facility for my 3 dogs in cases of an emergency. First of all, this facility is NOT an urgent care and they DO NOT take walk ins. I'm not sure why they advertise themselves as an urgent care if they don't take walk-ins. I had an emergency with one of my dogs and they refused to see him. I even called the facility before hand and they told me to come in, only to be told that they can't accommodate my pet. First time kitty owner and I brought my babe in for her first vaccines. They took great care of her and explained everything very clearly. Naturally, I had 1 million questions and every single one of them was answered in detail. I called in the next day to confirm something and they were quick to answer and provided me with all the information I needed. I'm not sure if they're expensive or not because I do not know the average costs of vaccines, but it didn't seem to be priced poorly. Definitely worth giving them a try! I had to take my kitty Travis to the vet and we weren't able to get an appointment at the ASPCA. We found Bond vet and I would highly recommend them. They took very good care of Travis. They were courteous, kind and very gentle to my wonderful kitty as well as excellent customer service. Because of the pandemic the doctor had to talk to me by phone which I was outside but otherwise they were very cautious and regarding to the pandemic situation and they took all precautions in protecting the parents of the pet as well as their staff. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Dr. Halle Thomasch is incompetent and careless. Two years ago she recommended a dog food Hills Science Diet to our Goldendoodle for weight loss, and instead of doing my own due diligence I took her suggestion and my dog nearly died that night after eating the food, vomiting blood and being rushed to the ER. Today, we had to return to Bond Vet because our new veterinarian wasn't available -- our dog had injured his hind leg after running in the park, and we wanted to rule out an ACL injury. She immediately tells us he needs to lose weight (he's an 85 pound tall, large Goldendoodle and not particularly overweight), and I remind her that her dog food suggestion nearly killed him. She displayed zero sympathy. She then suggests that his leg issue was due to a tick. Excuse me? He injured himself immediately after running -- this wasn't a tick. She then goes on to say he could have flipped his stomach -- again, excuse me? He would have been in the emergency room that night if he flipped his stomach. Later she mentions hip dysplasia after saying he showed no signs of pain. None of her "concerns" were valid or made sense. Zero critical thinking. I wanted him to recieve an x-ray to rule out any injuries, and she said he would need to be sedated. I didn't think that was common practice to sedate a well-behaved dog for x-rays, and was worried about the risks involved. I cannot trust a single recommendation provided by her or this vet clinic. When I expressed my frustrations, she said I was "attacking her." Extreme unprofessionalism. Bond Vet and Dr. Halle Thomasch do. not. care. This is a cold, corporate chain that will never fail to put their wallet first and your dog's needs last. I refuse to visit any Bond Vet location ever again, and I suggest you think long and hard before seeing Dr. Halle Thomasch if you love your pet. read more

I was recommended to bring my kitten here because my regular vet couldn't fit him in that day! They were so great to work with and they fit me in that day (due to Covid, they need appointments instead of walk-ins). When I dropped off my fur baby, they were great to inform me what they were going to do and the doctors still prefer discussing face to face outside about my kitten's appointment, which I appreciated the extra care they put in my pet's health and my comfort. The worst vet I have seen. Due to COVID-19, many vets are closed so I have reached out to them and wanted to make this service work...I had little options... but time and time again, they proved to be big ass***** For the rudeness of their staff, they dared to gas light me into making it seem like I have an issue. The staff were rude and would man handle my dog and with ZERO explanation, took my puppy to the back room abruptly with no context given. I was nervous and called them and asked what's going on. When I asked if I can Facetime my puppy, they gave me an attitude and the chief vet told me I have an "attitude" issue. I called my parents furious as we have had dogs for 20+ years and have never seen such an absurd, mean vet...and then my parents overheard how absurdly mean and crazy they sounded. The vet unprofessionally was lurking into my conversations too... The vet there Dr. Zay Satchu is a mean lady and started to place blame on me instead of being honest about how poor the communications and behavior of her staff is. You can't just not explain to pet parents what's going on and take a dog away. Dr. Satchu then started shaking my puppy (which I called her out on immediately) because of her huge ego while trying to "win" an argument. She gave no apologies and had to feel like her ego was massaged and coaxed in some way. It was like one of those mean girls who feel righteous that they need to be respected. I then spoke with a few other neighbors and reputable trainers in the Upper East, and Bond Vet had such an awful reputation of not knowing what to do with dogs. They also have no clue what customer service means. Was going to give them one more chance (due to COVID and things being generally closed), and because the first vet (Dr. McLaughlin) was nice but instead of making up for the chief vet shaking my puppy while holding him on the side (which I called her out on...), and at the end, the vet told me I cannot come to Bond Vet and had to immaturely call me about it and email me. So aggressive, and lacks emotional intelligence on how to provide services. This vet will lose more clients than they think for their insanely rude service and feeling like they need to be superior and wants their clients to kiss their ass. For anyone willing to speak up for themselves, this vet isn't for you. They want meek clients who will be at their beck and call for paying for their services....ridiculous. Don't let their decor fool you, it's all bells and whistles and you have to deal with some nasty egos. Wake up Bond Vet, some clients will come to you upset or hurt when they see their fur-babies manhandled and mistreated. That's part of what the medical profession entails. Being a vet means managing different types of clients INCLUDING those who may have an "attitude" when they are upset, because vet care is a CLIENT-serving job and that is the nature of being in the medical profession. They are still a start-up vet with a nice instagram, but it's not the standard of care you would expect from a professional vet charging the prices they do. As other reviews have said, they don't care about treating all pets and pet owners. It's all about keeping up an image that they are "clean" and "nice," and they don't even apologize for rough handling a small breed puppy that is only a few weeks old. I will NOT be returning. I came in for an ear infection check up. I specifically told both the vet tech and the vet to be extremely careful when swabbing her ears because she will whip her head aggressively. I told them this 3 times. Unfortunately they didn't listen to me because the end of the q tip got lodged and stuck in her ear because she whipped her head, like I said she would if they were not careful. They then had to SEDATE her because they needed to get the q tip out and check the damage to her ear drum. I go in for a routine check up and leave with my dog needing serious drugs because of an issue THEY CAUSED. I will now be taking my dog to another vet to have her eardrum checked. I got no apologies and no compassion from anyone. Please do not take your animal to this vet. read more

I found this place after reading so many nightmarish reviews on vets. My dog was very sick, throwing up for days. Like many others who had bad experiences with vets (racking up bills with tests, cold, mechanical doctors, killing their pets, etc) I wanted to be sure before picking out a vet. I thought very long before writing this review. My dog was still sick after leaving here. With a $1,500 bill and a bunch of tests, I walked away with Hills Prescription Diet food and was told she had kidney disease, something Google already told me. The nurses were nice but my doctor lacked compassion or care of any kind. All I heard were, "take these tests or she might die, or maybe you will have to let her go. Why didn't you come sooner" , I refused to be lectured but I was more concerned with my dog. Obviously if I am at the vet I am desperate to save my dogs life. She is still alive today after all of the tests and no treatment. Everything was "done" in the other room. But the food recommended had an adverse reaction, she is now swollen on both eyes. Though Bondvet may send out newsletters and seem as if they can be reached easily, I received no response to my email. I suspect Bondvet is only good for new puppies and checkups, or maybe I just had rotten luck with a doctor who only wanted to make the fastest money possible. It was my First experience taking my precious pup Chloe to Bond on August 29th. Was able to make the appointment online which was a breeze. No long holds waiting for a receptionist to remember you're holding. Received an appointment for the very next morning (A plus) Once there we were greeted almost immediately with friendly staff that smiles. The assistant Nicki was great friendly and approachable. All of the staff was. Dr. Jimenez is awesome she walked me through everything without making me feel rushed. I was explained all costs up front and was able to make the payment digitally. The following day I received a message asking how Chloe was feeling. I also received a full break down of her vitals to my email. Blood test results were returned in 2 business days.
