I like Bonefish's happy hour menu at the bar. The service is generally really good and the deals are great! Last Saturday, my favorite Sister and I came to Bonefish for dinner. It's been a while ya'll. Abby was our sweet server and walked us through the menu, explaining their specials and giving suggestions on what she recommended entrée wise. It's prom season and so many handsome couples were enjoying their pre prom dinners it was really fun to see the yutes all dressed up! Because their 3-course meal deal, starting at $15.90 was such a great deal, we went with that and decided to share our choices. I got the bourbon chicken and tempura shrimp, and Sister got the chimichurri mahi-mahi. Both dishes came with our choice of Caesar salad or house salad and an individual brownie with your choice of sauces. We got all the sauces on the side. The Caesar was good despite "dying" quickly since I should have asked for the dressing on the side. The chicken was okay, the mahi-mahi was okay, too. They were cooked just fine, just not a lot of interesting flavors. The shrimp tempura were plain fried shrimp. Again, okay, without a lot of flavor. Both entrees came with white rice and steamed broccoli. Since we were given ample meals and it was under $50.00, including their complimentary bread with olive oil sauce, we were pleased with the price point. Their wine was extra cold and delicious! We went to Bonefish Grille in Huntsville on the coldest, windiest day this year. I laughingly said we want far away from the door, so we sat at the fartherest booth in the corner. That was fine EXCEPT the hanging globe light looked like it had never been cleaned... ever. It was covered in dust and didn't put out much light. The globes at the front of the restaurant looked like they are wiped sometimes. That is my only complaint. The food was excellent. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta, and my husband had the steak and . Outstanding! We will be back this weekend hoping that damn globe has been cleaned. read more

This was our first time eating at Bonefish grill, the food looked and tasted great until my husband bite into his shrimp and pulled out a really long strand of hair. Needless to say we both lost our appetite. The waiter was very nice and apologetic . She said they would redo the order and we asked to have it to go , alone with our dessert that came with the meal. We were really disappointed that the manager, did not come out and offer an apology. I also feel like the meal could have been discounted due to the hairand the inconvenience it caused us. However the atmosphere is really nice . Bad first experience not sure if we would return. I always take pictures of our food when eating at a new restaurant . So after he found the hair , I zoomed in on my pictures and there the hair was , sticking up from the sprimp. We saw they had $7 Bang Bang Shrimp on Wednesday and decided to give the place a try. SUCH A DELIGHT! We were seated quickly and service was top noch. I felt like this restaurant is really well staffed and everyone is well trained. Our food came out quickly and hot. The restaurant is moody and really is a great restaurant for a date night. Common theme - Bonefish Grill used to be great in years past. Even the Bang Bang shrimp which was marginal at best when it used to be awesome. The shrimp was way over cooked and tasteless. Shrimp and scallops scampi - the scallops were miniature - the size of pencil erasers. Shrimp small, not flavorful. Husband had a burger and fries and it was a thin freezer burned patty - my hubby said it tasted like hospital food. The whole meal was over $100. It's fine, y'all. It's not earth shattering, it's not novel cuisine, and it's a chain restaurant in a strip mall. But it's fine. Had a lunch meeting here and the place was very much not busy, but I guess that's to be expected at 11am on a weekday. It may get busier in the evenings or on weekends. Anyway, the house bread was...alright? It was warm, the olive oil was decent, etc. I had to have them swap my bread plate for another, as there was a giant black hair on the one on the table (eek). Our server promised the "best burger in Huntsville," so I got that for lunch. It was a bit of a letdown, though I should have anticipated that as they didn't even ask how I wanted it cooked. Anyway, the "special sauce" was odd, there was a slice of onion that was LITERALLY larger than the burger patty that I had to scrape off, but it wasn't horrible. I swapped out whipped potatoes for fries and they were super bland, but...fine. My iced tea was refilled regularly (though I would have appreciated some lemon), but I was a bit miffed that we had to flag down the server (after 15+ minutes) to run the card and pay the bill. Overall...I wouldn't make this a destination by any means, but if you're in the mood for lunch you could do worse on this side of town. Practical notes: Bathrooms were clean and smelled OVERWHELMINGLY of bleach (I was fine with that), parking is in an insane lot but you do what you gotta do, I am not a huge fan of servers writing on table cloths but it is what it is. read more

So I recently took my mom here for Mother's Day. I was worried that they would be booked, but luckily I was able to make a reservation easily online. She used to go here more frequently, but hadn't visited since the pandemic. This was my first time eating there, so I was excited to try something new. The service was great, and our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food came fairly quickly and everything was made very well. I ordered the Cod Imperial, which was favorite on the menu. For an appetizer we shared the bang bang shrimp. They both tasted so good! My mom used to rave about the bang bang shrimp, and luckily it was just as good as she remembered. If I could give a negative I would! Unfortunately I cannot rate the food as we never received any except for the bread (which I will say was good!) We arrived and were seated quickly to a booth in the dining area in the corner. Upon sitting noticed that the plastic cover over table had not been changed, but it appeared to be oil stains only from the bread sooo not a "biggie". We sat and looked at the menu, decided what we wanted for drinks and appetizers and waited for service. And waited. And waited. Another couple came and sat next to us (time lapse from our arrival to this point approximately 20 minutes - not so much as a "hi") and this couple were seated for about 7 minutes. At this point a server came over and apologized that our server was MIA and asked if she could take our drink order, which we GLADLY gave her as we were THIRSTY! After she completed taking the order (we also put in our appetizer with her) our server appeared with bread and waters for us - when the other girl said she had taken our drink order our waters went to the new table (weird we didn't get them)... we DID get the bread, so yay us! At this point we are assuming we will get our drinks quickly (iced tea and lemonade NOT difficult drinks) - we watched the new table give their order, receive their bar drinks (granted just wine but..) receive salads AND appetizer - we still have not received drinks - at this point I was done!!! The server had been to this table 4x and not so much as one stop at our table! He was attentive, checked on us several times, and was a very pleasant person. Now, for the rest of it. So, I ordered the shrimp and scallop skewer with steamed vegetables and bacon mac and cheese. The Poison I went with order salmon with streamed vegetables and jasmine rice. None of it was good. Everything but the shrimp was very bland and tasteless. The vegetables were simply broccoli, but a problem, but they were mush. The scallops and salmon had zero flavor. The rice was undercooked. The worst thing was the bacon Mac and cheese, which was a premium side and cost extra. I don't know what they did, but it had no flavor, and for some reason it was gritty, and the cheese was just disgusting. Best things were the bread with olive oil dip, specially sangria, and the free birthday brownie. I will likely never go there again because it's really hard to have bland food (it's called salt) and it's not easy to make a Mac and cheese so gross that I picked out the bacon (which was weirdly also somewhat bland) and left 99% of the rest. read more

My wife and I frequently eat at this restaurant. The latest visit was on Sunday 19 October. We ordered our usual food, and as usual ice water with lemon and a coffee. The server introduced himself once, the food was brought to our table by a different person and the meal was fine. However we did not get any lemon slices ( I know a first world problem right?) and the server Never returned to fill my coffee, or ask if we needed anything - not once! 3 feet next to us was a couple that our server filled both the water and coffee at least twice - and even promised the gentleman that they were brewing a new pot of coffee. None for me however - even though the server clearly saw us with empty glasses and plates. This, in my observation, was an intentional slight and when I brought to the attention of another server - she said she would let our server know. 15 minutes (one quarter hour) later our server emerged to apologize, but by this time I was agitated enough to ask to speak to the manager. All I got was apologies without any credible explanation. The restaurant did not seem to be overly busy, and I believe they actually probably had more than one pot of coffee brewing. The manager also simply started "he talked with" the employee but offered no explanation. The manager discounted our bill which I thought was magnanimous, but no explanation at all for the poor service. I am a fish-belly white guy with a military-style haircut, and have a beautiful dark skinned Asian wife. I sincerely hope that the poor service and lack of explanation was not an example of some discriminatory practice of lowered expectations for some based on appearances. The service I encountered was disappointing at best, which is sad because the food was good, ambiance was comfortable, and many of the other employees were cogent and cheerful. My husband made reservations for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The experience was not good. We ordered drinks, skipped appetizers, and then ordered our meals. My husband ordered the Dynamite Salmon, while I ordered the Shrimp & Scallop Scampi Pasta, plus a side salad. The server said he would bring bread, which didn't happen till we had already received our meals. Unfortunately my meal was wrong and had to be sent back. My salad didn't arrive until just before my correct dinner was served, some 20 or so minutes later. In the meantime my husband was faced with eating before me or waiting till I got my meal and then his would be cold. The food was good, but sadly the service was not. We repeatedly had to flag down our server and then he would disappear and we would have to sit and wait. Even after requesting take out containers, he still had to be asked for the check some time later. In retrospect we really wish we had asked for a manager, but my husband was trying so hard to make my birthday nice and honestly we were just ready to be out of there. We used to love Bonefish, but it has gone downhill in the last year. I think people agree, because the restaurant has been at no more than 20% capacity the last couple times we have gone when it used to be at 100% with a wait. The menu has changed, and while I appreciate that they say how they source their seafood, I think this works against them because most people know the downsides of farmed fish now, and that's how a lot of their fish is sourced. The rest is imported. Anyway, the quality of the food has declined as has the service. I got the crab cakes and the coating was so gritty it was like eating sand. I also had the Caesar salad, which was drenched in dressing to the point of being inedible. My husband got scallops, which were the size of a penny in circumference. There last Friday night as a party of 6 at 5:30p. Two of our party ordered the bang-bang tacos. There so much "green sauce" on them you could not taste the shrimp. After a while you just give up. Front of the house was completely disorganized. Apparently, the kitchen is in the same shape. We have usually had good experiences at Bone Fish.
