    14oz Ribeye loaded baked potato
    Xavier H.

My wife treated me to a great meal for Father's Day. Nice ambiance. My granddaughter loved the lighted water wall display. Ordered the Old Fashioned and it was quite tasty. For the meal I ordered the ribeye medium well with a loaded baked potato and salad. The salad came first. Nice clean, fresh taste. The ranch dressing had a homemade taste. Next the meal. The ribeye was cooked to perfection! Bigger than I anticipated. Tender and juicy with the right amount of seasoning. The loaded baked potato was tender with the right amount of toppings. Everyone's food was delicious and even the kids meal was enjoyed by my granddaughter. Only thing missing was we did not get and bread before the meal due to none being ready. Maybe next time we can try it out.

We enjoyed a nice (two day belated) birthday lunch for my Sorority Sister here last Friday! My other sweet Sorority Sister made the reservation which was super easy and worked great setting us up for a 1:00 lunch! Like Yelper friend Stephen M. suggested, I would recommend reservations, too! The parking lot was packed when I got there at 12:30 and the building looks deceptively small from the outside despite having I think I counted three dining sections and a large bar. The interior is fresh, clean and relaxing and we were fortunate to get a six-top booth for our party of three, allowing us to spread out and relax since we spent two hours here dining and catching up with each other. I do wish the north side windows had curtains/window coverings; however, I did see them on the eastern facing windows which is really important! The staff from the front of the house, host/hostesses, servers. managers, food runners, bussers - just everyone was so buttoned up and professional! I don't recall anyone wearing an apron (you know, to hold your pens and order pad), although I maybe I overlooked it. I'm not sure anyone even carried a food tray and there were no bus carts in the dining room. Chop House was a well oiled machine! The menus were vast in terms of both food and wine offerings. The wine was marked up about 300-400 percent from retail, which hurt a little. We all get it: it's a money maker it is just sad when a simple $10.00 Oyster Bay bottle of wine is $38.00 and a flavorless white wine is $42.00 a bottle. I think happy hour in the bar would be a great value, though! All our meals were delicious and prepared exactly as ordered with various sauces on the side if that's what one wanted. Our server, Zoe, greeted our birthday sister by her name and wished her a happy birthday and brought a lovely complementary birthday desert of cake and a scoop of ice cream! It was a $5.50 value and they comp'd it for us! Birthday girl got Rainbow Trout and subbed a bowl of tortilla chicken soup, and other Sister and I both got 6 ounce filet of medallions (mine with broccoli on the side and hers with mashed potatoes on the side) and everyone had a side salad. We all shared the "colossal" homemade onion rings which were Vidalia like in sweetness and overall really good! Patrons were wearing everything from shorts and baseball caps to sundresses, and two of us wore denim. There's no need to stress over a "dress code." My only complaint (and it's so minor) is the staff were over eager to clear each and every plate often while we were still eating. This is being over attentive. When a patron has food items on their plate, directly in front of them, has a fork in their hand, a napkin on their lap - do not ask to remove the plate. I get that the staff are "on top of things" and that's great! However, it's important to know your party's rhythm and not interrupt their enjoyment of their meals and time together! Management checked on us, and yes, no plate, glass or bowl was ignored and left on the table. Despite being another franchise, I'm happy Chop House is here and look forward to future visits! Thanks for making our Sister's birthday a lovely afternoon, Chop House!

The service and ambiance were great. The food was mid at best. Maybe it was an off night but I was expecting the food to way better. I was disappointed but I will try them again in a few months maybe

I finally got a chance to check out The Chop House yesterday, and I was impressed. I got there around 3:00 p.m., but there was a 45-minute wait. It was the Saturday before Father's Day, so I expected it to be busy. Since I was hungry, I decided to sit at the bar rather than wait on a table. The bartenders were great and very attentive. While I was trying to decide what to order, they gave me some really good recommendations, and they were spot on. I ended up ordering the Rosemary Grilled Chicken, and it was delicious. Overall, I had a really good dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

Chop House is a sister chain to Connor's. This location opened just over a week ago, and they're still trying hard to please. Reservations recommended.

Nice newer version of Conner's in town Madison. + Happy hours deals in bar area M-F 330-630 with comfortable booths and bar high top stools . Good service and food. Prime rib sliders +++

Well let me say i thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here at The Chophouse on Fathers Day! I had their Caesar salad and the petite porkchops entree which was hot and full of flavor. Those mashed potatoes were exactly how I liked them!!!! My dad had the horseradish crusted filet, my bonus mom had a ribeye, and my baby brother had some chicken tenders (lol) with mac and cheese. My dad was very pleased. They also had the Reasoning with Hurricane Season, pomegranate martini and Grand Margarita cocktails which they said were good. I had a Spa Day mocktail and it was great and verrrrry refreshing. The food was immaculate! Our server Tori, was amazing! She was so patient with us, gave us great recommendations and was interactive with my baby brother. She made sure our drinks were always filled and our table was kept clean. We were very upset when we realized she was being let go before she was able to close us out. While we don't know the exact reason, she was a great server so it was very upsetting and just an awkward situation. I appreciate the staff trying to make it better and invite us back. Ambiance was good as well and we enjoyed our visit. Will be back to try more food.

I really enjoyed myself. The service was great even though I could tell everyone was very new. They tried their best, and I can't complain about that. The restaurant's aesthetic was giving elevated casual. We ordered the Voodoo Shrimp they reminded me of Bang Bang Shrimp but better. Also had the ribeye, but i ordered medium rare and it was slightly overcooked. We also got the shrimp and crab cake. I loved the shrimp, but could do without the crab cake. It just wasn't my favorite style of crab cake. I like mine with little to no breading. The best part of the meal was hands down the strawberry butter cake! I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I will be going back next week just for that.

Well they built a nice place and the food is very good. The service to say the least was unorganized and unfortunately poor. The draft beer lines were all off line. The bar had 4 to 5 staff plus a supervisor and they could barely keep up. It good to be busy but the demand will decline when the newest wears off. Sad to see other place not reach its potential due to lack of solid management and decent training.

Prohibition was giving out glasses, LED tubes, sparklers and playing upbeat music. We danced, laughed, swung our lights around and peaked through the blinking shades. The drink the waitress ordered for me was good and service was amazing. Did not get any food this time around.

The restaurant sits just a stone's throw from the ballpark where the Rocket City Trash Pandas play, so the whole place already has a fun, lively atmosphere before you even sit down. Now given the name "Prohibition," I half expected someone to knock on the door and ask for a secret password like it was 1927. Back in those days, enjoying a drink required secrecy, dim lights, and maybe a jazz band playing in the corner. Today, things are a little easier... though for this non-drinker, my order was simple: water on the rocks, hold the lemon. I prefer my water about 100 proof for maximum flavor. My boss and coworker grabbed seats at the bar while we looked over the menu. We kicked things off with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and the Pork Bao Buns. Let me tell you, those Pork Belly Burnt Ends were an absolute masterpiece. They came out crisp and seasoned just right with a little spicy kick. Served with raw carrots, homemade pickles, and lettuce wraps to bundle those little jewels together--downright tasty. If food had a Hall of Fame, these would already have a plaque on the wall. The Pork Bao Buns were good as well, but they simply couldn't match the grand slam the Pork Belly Burnt Ends delivered. For my main course, I ordered the Smoked Wangs with the Jala Mango seasoning and a side salad. The wings were delicious--cooked and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was solid. No bootlegging required. Prohibition definitely hit it out of the park today. Between the great food, the great service, and the fun atmosphere near the ballpark, this place is a must-stop for locals or anyone just passing through Madison. Our waitress tried pretty hard to convince us to order dessert, so I'm guessing their sweets are just as flavorful as everything else on the menu. The only problem I had today? I couldn't finish my meal. I was absolutely stuffed. If this had been the 1920s, the only crime committed here would've been leaving food on the plate. Great food. Great service. I'll gladly return--though next time I may need a little more room in the stomach.

Quick take: food was pretty good, decent prices, great drink, will come back!…read moreCame in around 5pm on Friday 2/27 and only one person at the bar. Nice lady told us to seat ourselves where we want, GM initially waited on us. He was friendly. Wife said he made the margarita and it was great! A little stronger than my wife likes, just under what I like. After a couple sips she loved it! He recommended fried catfish and the ribeye as favorites. We tried both. Ribeye: cooked nicely, not seasoned enough for my taste. I would order and try this again, $26, with two sides. Steak was tender and was a nice cut of ribeye. Salad was solid. Mashed potatoes ok. Could have used a piece of toast I think. Next time a different side from mashed taters. Catfish: GREAT! Light, fluffy, fried perfectly. Hush puppies were good, a little thick though. Fried okra was also great! Cole slaw could be hit or miss for folks.. i thought it was good, wife didn't like. Should have come out in mashed potato sized bowl to eat easier. Some dislikes: 1. Steak not seasoned well. But I'd try it again. 2. Some things missing off of our plates initially (tartar sauce, mashed potatoes.) No big deal but if it was busier I think we may not have seen them for a while. 3. Person bringing single bowl of mashed potatoes holding with one hand, palm down over potatoes. Pretty sure it looked like hand touched top of potatoes. 4. Not sure if this is a smoking establishment but a guy at the bar lit a cigar. But he must've been asked to take it outside because he put it out. Glad he did because we had a baby. Not sure why he thought he could smoke it in there if he hadn't before. Overall, good visit and I look forward to trying more things and eating that catfish again.

First visit and it will not be the last!…read more After looking at reviews and photos I knew I was ordering the salmon with cabbage and rice. Salmon was seasoned perfectly, had a nice crispy char on the outside while the fish was moist and tender. Only thing that could have made it better was another piece! The cabbage was soft and flavorful, but not overly seasoned, nice comfort cooking style. The rice was perfectly cooked, had hints of I believe saffron and maybe liquid smoke(?) whatever it was the rice really stood out my only complaint would be there wasn't enough. My wife had the grilled shrimp with sauce and she was very happy, they were cleaned, cooked well, and she really enjoyed the sauce. She had the same two sides and also said a bit more rice would have been nice. For desert we had their deep fried cheese cake, it's almost like a cannoli and cheesecake had a baby that was deep fried. The dough was softer than cannoli but the apple drizzle paired very well with the dessert. We plan to return, but it will be hard to order anything other than that salmon! Great location across, right across the street from Princess Theater.
