"Better than Red Lobster for sure." - Dad immediately after dinner. Went to Bonefish with my family for my mothers birthday on a Saturday night around 7pm. Lucky for us, we made a reservation, because once you walked into the restaurant, you could see how busy it was. I didn't ask how long the wait was, but an hour wouldn't have shocked me. Since we arrived 10 minutes early, we had to wait a few minutes for our table, but at 7:02 pm, we were seated. Our table ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp for an appetizer and as everyone says, its unreal. Delicious and a must have. I ordered a cup of the Corn and Crab Chowder, which again was delicious and very filling. My Mom ordered the Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, which she enjoyed, but I don't think it was worth the order, as was the Caesar salad, which my Dad ordered. For dinner, my Dad and I both enjoyed the Filet of Fish Burger, which we both said, "the best fish sandwich we've ever had". I had the Mahi Mahi, while my Dad had the Tilapia, but both were cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously. They come with some chipotle sauce, lettuce, and tomato on a nice bun. No cheese, which I would have liked, but it's all good. My mom ordered Grilled Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa, which she also enjoyed as well. The one thing she mentioned was she ordered the larger serving, which was a normal sized serving of fish. Finally, my girlfriend ordered the Baja Fish Tacos, which came out in a pair, and were okay, nothing I would recommend or order. We finished off with some dessert, Key Lime Pie + Chocolate Creme Brulee, which were both very nice, but nothing spectacular (even though both had REAL, FRESH whipped cream on them). The only reason Bonefish Grill did not get 5 stars was the wait at the door. There is no wait area for anyone waiting, and if you did not have a reservation, you were basically in an area around people at the bar or nearby tables eating. The restaurant needs some sort of a waiting area to house these people, because it is a turn-off when you walk into the door. My experience here was awesome. Took my BFF for a birthday dinner. The Bang-Bang Shrimp was great! I have a thing for this style of shrimp. We both had the salmon which was fresh and lightly glazed. My asparagus was perfectly crisp. The best part was dessert! We couldn't decide on which... so we had both the Creme Brulee AND the Coconut Creme Pie. The Creme Brulee was a chocolate version (who doesn't love that?) made with Gran Marnier. It was PERFECTION in a plate!! Our waitress was excellent - couldn't have asked for a more friendly, upbeat waitress! She kept re-filling our iced teas/sodas at all times. We got the bread with olive oil dip that comes when you get seated, bang bang shrimp and mussels. Shrimp was ok (surprisingly I've had better at the same restaurant as I used to come on a weekly basis couple months ago.) Mussels was too drenched in sauce but it was good for the bread dipping. So from the minute we sat down my sister and parents were snapping away. I emphasize from the beginning we sat down, on top of that I have a 2 year old nephew who is at the age where he likes grabbing phones and snapping away. We enjoyed our meal our service, even someone from management came during our meal to ask how everything was. Left a generous tip - until the end! The same person from management came to our table as we just paid our bill "please stop taking photos as many tables have complained", now my significant other is very outspoken as so am I, so he quickly replies ok well who has complained. The manager said several other tables. What struck me and my whole table is....we started taking photos FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END! During this course of time, our waitress has come several times asking if everything was ok and even the man himself came to ask how everything is. Through the waitress and himself approaching our table he couldn't have asked us to stop taking photos, yet once we paid the bill and he saw it he was quick to come to the table thereafter to ask photos be stopped? This was very weird especially as I am in management myself...always make guests happy. If other tables had an issue this is something management approaches nicely and ask the table to stop, which we would have gladly done. Comes to show how they would make everything perfect fine and dandy, yet once you are paid and all set they are quick to ask you to stop something! I rated it 2 stars as yes our waitress and food was good, but the man from management definitely lost all other 3 stars as he not only was not professional in any sort but way to make HIS guests feel like garbage! The Bonefish Grill is highly overrated. I would give them 2-stars, but I will admit that the Bang Bang Shrimp is worth coming for. I've been here for lunch and dinner, and neither time was very impressed with the selection. This time we went for brunch. I had heard how the Bonefish was famous for bottomless mimosas for brunch, so why not... but not at this one... $5 a pop for what turns out to be mostly orange juice... too bad. read more

I've been coming to this resturaunt for years and I really have to say although the menu has improved and added more variety, the quality of food and service has dropped drastically. The place wasn't packed at all and we only saw our waiter once every like 20 minutes. When we wanted the check, he was nowhere in sight, and the food took a long time to come out as well. I ordered the bang bang shrimp which was on the money as always, and the bread is always really good. I ordered the tilapia imperial, the portion size was extremely slow and it tasted like vomit as well. Horribly cooked with bad presentation. Went to dinner last night it was completely packed at The bonefish in East Brunswick so we tried the one in Woodbridge and was also packed , it was a 30-45 min wait so we waited . The food was good like usually, I got the filet mignon she got the taco fish, everything was good the manager Christopher made it a 5 star night .. He brought me another filet mignon because he felt just like I did my 9 ounce filet mignon was a very small cut , so he got me a brand-new one and I took it home after I ate the one I ordered .. For a "commercial" restaurant I can't say enough good things about it. Great service, excellent Floor Manager who always takes good care of us named Deon Taylor. The bread is always baked to perfection. Wednesday the restaurant has a special on Bang Bang Shrimp (I recommend not to order take out on this item, much better ordering in). The Lobster Stuffed Shrimp with Broc and crab fried rice is spectacular. The Maryland Crab Cakes are great as well (would be authentic if it had Old Bay seasoning). All in all the salads are fresh, the bread is high quality and the dining experience is awesome especially for the commercial budget. I see myself becoming a regular. I highly recommend. Dinning out experience includes service and food. Last Saturday we had a reservation for table at 8.15 PM, we arrived on time, but staff asked us to wait for 10 min, but got our table at 8.45 PM. Waiter showed up at 9 PM at our table. We quickly placed our orders (we were hungry), at 9.15 some one (not the table waiter) dropped (literally) appetizer and vanished. We did not have any thing else on our table, cutlery napkins, plates and serving spoon. We signaled someone for things we need to eat, and finally we got our cutlery and plates at 9.20 pm. But still we did not have serving spoons. I signaled again for the waiter, he informed us that chopsticks which were stacked at the end of the tables needs to be used to serve appetizers (they assume that we know how to use chopstick and assume that we need to use it for serving ). I don't like food and drinks being dropped at the table by vanishing faces, I can get better service than that from any fast food chain. When they are charging top dollars for food they better put some service into it, I would give them another chance, and will update latter. read more

Traveling on business and was staying at the Renaissance across the way. Decided to walk over to Bonefish since I saw it when I was driving in. Sat at the bar and was acknowledged immediately. Ordered a cocktail from the bar menu and the bartender steered me toward a better option. Much appreciation because the dirty martini was excellent!!!! I then had the filet and crab cake combo. The filet was a bit undercooked but that's on me since I ordered it mid rare instead of medium (so many times I order medium when I'm out and it is overcooked). Not on this occasion, it was actually undercooked. Crab cake and sautéed spinach were perfect. Potatoes were a bit undercooked. Kept my drink full the whole time and checked back on me. I would have to say that my boyfriend and I have been to this place at least 3 or 4 times and we're never disappointed. I absolutely love the Bang Bang shrimp and the last time we went there...we got our own appetizer because we didn't want to share. Another thing that I like is the $5 Sangria and Strawberry Martinis. Another thing that I love...is the bread that you dip in the olive oil...kinda makes me think of the Macaroni Grill but I could give a damn less...I still like it. Anywho...I think the service is always great...I think just about every time we went, we met with the manager since he would go around from table to table and one time he even gave us a free drink. Everytime I go, I get some type of salmon dish. If there isn't something with salmon on the daily special menu, I get the grilled salmon in pan-asain sauce...yummy!! This is one of the nicer, more affordable chain restaurants around, especially when it comes to seafood. A much more upscale atmosphere than Red Lobster but not to the scale of McCormick's. At our last meal there, my wife had the crab cakes and I had the pecan crusted tilapia - both excellent. Their bar is a bit light on beer menu but my wife had a pomegranate martini which she said was very good. We go there about two or three times a year - much better now that you can make reservations - online even. We don't go more because it is a bit pricey (as is most good seafood restaurants) and they haven't changed their menu since we've been going there - however long the Route 1 location has been open. They do have specials which helps to vary the menu. Their staff is generally good however we have experienced occasions where that has not been the case. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite local restaurants. I know it's a chain but I have been going coming here since it opened up. Not much changed and I still come visit here regularly. Let me start off with wait times. Just like most good restaurants on weekends at peak hours there is a wait time usually around 45min or so. I usually come around 9pm where wait time dies down and usually get seated right away. They used to be calling ahead but they got away with it. I'm not sure if they take reservations as I usually don't make them here.They are known for their bang bang shrimp but my favorite appetizer is mussels Josephine. I usually use their delicious bread and dip it in mussels sauce.. Really good. My hands down favorite meal is Chilean seabass! So gooood. It comes with usually house fresh veggies and u pick another side which I stick with more veggies. Drinks are very good and usually have some specials. Blackberry sangria is good also Martinis are really good as well. Service is always on point I must say, sometimes it's really good but never experienced bad service there yet and hopeful never will. I tried the Prix 3-Courses dinner, it was $19.50 each person, the grill scollops were a little dry, but it still taste ok. I like my salad. The first time ever I tried dumpling in the American way & it was not bad. I like the Bang Bang Shrimp too. They have the Kobe Beef Burger that I want to try next time I go there.
